Lloyds TSB Offshore Banking:
... TSB internet banking lets you manage your finances, apply for loans, credit cards, mortgages & pay off bills from home or anywhere with internet access. It seems very secure, you have a 9 digit username which is randomly given to you to prevent people guessing then you have a password which much be more than 6 digits & preferably a mix of letters & numbers. Royal Bank of Scotland ... As a university student I had to take out a student overdraft to pay for rent, tuition fees etc. I chose the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBOS) because it offered the highest overdraft limit for a student at the time (£1600). However since joining them I have experienced the worst customer service, horrible hidden charges and I basically believe that they are the worst bank ever. First of all, unlike most modern banks, if you ever had a query or wanted to change address etc. you HAD to go to your home branch. Now why should there be a need to wire money when a lot of banks in the UK offer their clients cards that give them the opportunity to withdraw directly money from their UK account (Cirrus)? Well after some research into the exchange... Read the full review: Transferring your money in Europe by Jpdm |

Shopping around, it appeared that many of the offshore banks will only touch you if you have over $150k for them to manage, which can be a little onerous. Many of them also do not pay very good interest. Flemings, however, have an attractive account. You need 5000 Pounds to open an account, although you can withdraw down to zero after the account is opened. It does not yet have an internet connection, but they will transfer funds between account for a small fee, or you can write a cheque. The account pays 4% interest tax free. This is why I chose it. Sure I can get better if I shop around, and periodically I wil... Read the full review: Seem pretty good to me by ordy |
