Advantages: Secure and Easy

Disadvantages: Fees to high, customer service poor

PayPal is a really great service to use when buying and selling items online, as you do not have to send people any of your bank details just your email address it is very secure and gives you that added peace of mind. I feel that the only problem is that they have kind of have a monopoly on this type of service and as they are teamed up with eBay, 9 times out of 10 people will create a PayPal account when they are setting up their eBay account. I my opinion the fees that they charge for receiving money is quite high. I also had an issue once when I sold an item on eBay and a few weeks later the money I had received for it had disappeared from my PayPal account, to resolve the matter I tried calling them which turned out to be hopeless, spending ages on hold on a premium rate number got me no where even when I got through they were no help, I had to write it off in the end and hope I don't get any problems again as they are not that helpful.

Summary: Overall a pretty good company as long as you dont get any problems.
