Paypal: The door to the criminal world
Avoid paypal at all costs, and I mean all costs. They are without a doubt the gateway to fraud. For anyone who has not used paypal, they are on online payment merchant, enabling people and businesses alike, to send money over the internet to another paypal account. In principle they offer one of the safest methods of payment, with high levels of consumer protection, though the reality is somewhat different.
One of the main places you will come across paypal, is through the world of the ebay auction site, which purchased paypal to essentially make money from not just auction fees, but payment fees as well. The idea is to protect consumers, by having a fully integrated process of purchasing goods, to payment in order to reduce the overall levels of fraud that have long been associated with ebay.
When paying with paypal, provided you pay the seller through the link on ebay, and you provide a verifed address (based on your credit card) for which the seller can post items you have purchased, to, you are entitled to receive compensation should it go wrong. Simply register an issue, and paypal will supposedly investigate this.
Reading the small print - you have to send everything recorded delivery. Now is that practical for a car or van!!! No, of course it is not!!!! Yet to not deliver recorded, is to give up all rights for protection!
So, in summary, avoid them at all costs
