I first started using Paypal some 8 years ago, predominantly to link it to my Ebay account which I was at the time selling a lot through. It was therefore a very important tool to receive payments instantly.

I have used it fairly regularly since then with mixed reviews.

The site has fairly recently been redesigned and is slick and very easy to use, it's easy to withdraw funds to a bank account I have saved and the process is quick and these days free.

The fees on receiving payments are acceptable and inline with competitors and something you just accept for the convenience of the service.

Downsides are security of late, this may now be resolved but until last year there seemed to be a few problems regarding hacked accounts, my own was one of these and a number of payments to unknown companies were made. I contacted Paypal and they fairly promptly resolved the issue and the funds stolen were returned. I am using it currently for one or two transactions but not quite the extent I was before as I am just a bit unsure about its security.
