Portman Building Society

I have a mortgage with the Portman and have been utterly dismayed by the manner in which they have handled an application for a further advance. I still await a decision after over 5 weeks wait. I have tried to call them on 3 occasions to ask as to the progress and have been told that the "underwriters are too busy to speak to customers". I find it astonishing that in this day and age with competition from many sources any commercial enterprise can afford to be too busy to speak to customers - and to tell customers that!
