I recently opened a mini-cash ISA with the Bank of Scotland and have found the whole process totally hassle free. Fill in a short form, complete a cheque for at least a pound and sit back and enjoy tax free savings for up to £3000 per year. You can choose to have the interest paid monthly or annualy and Bank of Scotland allows you to use their Internet HOBS service to monitor your savings growth online. If you are considering opening an ISA then I can recommend www.fool.co.uk and www.moneyextra.com as two places to start your search from. They are both no-nonsense sites that will give an honest opinion on the advantages of ISA's in general - and the pro's and con's of actual ISA products available. Do shop around though - there is a surprising gap between the lowest and highest rate and also the best and worst service.
