Whilst the Royal Bank of Scotland recently gained the reputation of being unreliable as it has been mainly nationalised, it is still in my opinion the best bank to use in Scotland. They still pay good interest rates compared to other banks, both on savings accounts and current accounts. Credit card interest is also reasonable ... Read the complete review

My partner and I have our mortgage with RBS as they were the only company we could get a mortgage with when we bought our first home two years ago. I have to say that they have been brilliant since they day we took up the mortagage. The information pack they send you is very informative and they advise us what type of home insurance we should ... Read the complete review

I have been with the Royal Bank of Scotland for about fifteen years. I bank with the branch at Belgrave Gate in Leicester. I went with them because I was terribly unhappy about the way Nat West had treated me. Since then, I've had a fantastic relationship with the bank/branch. Like many people, I don't have money, but I ... Read the complete review

I have been a loyal customer with the Royal Bank of Scotland for many years and used them for most of my finances but I am truly fed up with their level of service. Here are my true life examples: Ask for a savings account to be opened and when you get your account information they have opened the wrong one, bring this up and you are told it ... I'm an RBS insider. I'm not going to give much more info than that as I want to protect my identity but over coming weeks/months I hope to expose a lot of practices that are going on in RBS (and I guess many of the other banks too!) so feel free to check out my blog at http://rbsinsider.blogspot.com/ All comments and feedback welcomed, ... I've been with the Royal Bank of Scotland for a year now, on a student account. It seemed great at first, but I've had a few problems lately. For instance; - I moved, and informed them of my new address in the branch. They said it had gone on the system, and everything was fine. I even got a couple of statements sent to my new address. ... I have been with this bank for almost 20 years now. I started off with a cash club account when I was seven years old. You can withdraw up to £10 a week without permission from your parent or guardian. I felt very grown up having my own account so it is definitely a good thing for children to have their own account which they can have access ... Read the complete review

I had been with the Royal Bank of Scotland for 11 years until recently. They provided my current account and also my credit card through RBS Advanta. I have though now changed to an internet bank but it is early days to judge them yet but when I do you will be the first to know dear reader. So why did I change after so long. To have ... Have to say that I have never found Royalties can match never mind beat flights i have booked elsewhere. I seem to be paying £12 per month for free travel insurance and not much more.

We have for sometime now banked with the RBS and regularly use the foreign exchange for our trips abroad. The foreign currency as usual was given to me in a sealed package. As it was sometime away from my trip abroad I thought no more about the currency, today found some change and odd notes from a previous trip and decided to add these to the ... I have been an account holder at RBoS for about the last 15 year, although why I stayed with them for that long I dont know. During this time I had endless charges applied to my account for no apparent reason (Thankfully they did refund them each time I phoned up), my overdraft dissapeared overnight one day and they tried to charge me huge ... I was a customer with RBS for 22 years(since I started working) - have my mortgage, loans, savings account ... everything ... through the RBS. I fell for the Royalties Gold scam years ago - £12 per month ... £144 a year and all you get is some poxy travel insurance ... not really worth it is it. The end of the line came on Thursday ... Before starting the first year of my HND college course last year I tried to apply for a RBS Student Royalties Account. This account had been recommended to me by a friend and fellow student who had also recently opened this account. This person told me that she had simply applied online, and then was sent out a letter telling her to ... Read the complete review

This review is basically a chance for me to moan about one of the worst banks ever, my friends are tired of listening to me rabbiting on about this. I first opened an account with RBS in January 2002. My partner had persuaded me to switch banks; he had been with them for 5 years and never had any bother. It seemed sense that all of ... I'm a student. I've been with the RBS since I was about 15. I'm not pleased at all by the very limited youth services they offer, but am pleased with most of the way they do business. I like the RBS for a number of reasons. Branches are relatively small and work/letters/communications are generally done from your own branch, and not ... Read the complete review

One day as I was trying to see through my bank's digital banking some statements,I noticed that they had some new - to me anyway- accounts. They had the Royalties and the Royalties Gold Account. With the Royalties was included an Accidental Death cover of £5000 along with other benefits. With £10 you have £10,000 accidental death cover (of ... Read the complete review

The Royal Bank of Scotland. I joined this bank because I was so annoyed with the way my previous bank (The Nat West – see my review for more details) was treating me. After joining there was a period with no problems at all. The bank seemed to be handling my money with no problems at all. Then, after being with the bank for several years ... I have been with the Royal Bank for about 12 years now and I personally have had no problems with them. The account I have is a Royalties Gold which, as mentioned by another reviewer, costs you £10 per month but I think it's worth it as I travel quite a lot and I find the free travel insurance/commission free foreign currency facilities ... This is not only an opinion on the Royal Bank of Scotland but also actual experiences I've had with the bank since joining them in March '02. Since I've been a toddler I've always dealt with the Halifax bank. My current status with the bank is that I have a current account which is inactive at the moment and a savings ... ...That fought and died for, yer wee bit hill and glen. Oh we all love a bit of a national anthem on a Wednesday, lessens the middle-of-the-week-drudgery somewhat. Well, the Royal Bank Of Scotland then. I've had a joint account of this bank for the past year, the new flat needed a joint account to be set up and the ... Read the complete review
