The co-operative bank have been very good to me. As a simple current account customer they gave me a good rate of interest, competitive savings and credit cards, and a really slick online internet banking operation. I thought it couldn't get any better than this (as far as banking goes, anyway) when the cheeky monkeys go and launch SMILE. Not ... Read the complete review

I've been a Smile customer for about 8 months now, here is my story... I began looking for an on-line bank because, having banked with the Halifax for >10 years, I had become increasing irritated by an increasing number of issues. The mortgage rate had become very uncompetitive (and I'm locked in for another 3 years), the ... Read the complete review

So far so good is all I can say. Signed up for a savings account a couple of sayd ago and just been accepted. They offer current, savings and other accounts such as ISA accounts. Very easy sign up forms online and you dont have to go visit a bank to set them up. Today they sent me a secure email, which you have to log onto their site to ... Read the complete review

Smile is part of the co-op bank, but is not just an add-on internet service. The entire service is run over the net, and therefore as they have no branches to keep open, the rates are excellent. (although changing all the time, due to dropping interest rates) I recently opened a savings account, which needs a minimum balance of £1 and has no ... Read the complete review

Smile is the only on-line bank account I have and I think it's very good. It's the first one I've tried so I was a little wary but the fact that it's part of the Co-op bank swayed me. I opted for the savings account and signing up was quick and easy, no sending off passports or driving licences to prove who you are or visiting the ... Read the complete review

I liked the idea of smile as it's backed by the Co-0p bank - enviromentally friendly, fine and upstanding in comparison to the high street banks and all that. So I decided to open a savings account and a loan account with smile. Their service was quick and efficient and everything was set up within two days. You can deposit cash or cheques at ... As part of my ISA 'investment', as usual I surfed around and compared the rates available. I did this by using a Finance website such as ft.com which compares all the rates available. Some building societies offer a better rate than 7.25%, but you will have to be an existing customer for a certain length of time to qualify for these. ... Read the complete review

Something to smile about? Smile entered the internet banking sector recently, however in an environment of near perfect information they are not going to succeed offering the same service as their competitors at a lower interest rate. I opened a smile account when it first opened but I have not deposited any money into it. I was left ... Read the complete review
