Best bank for savings accounts or ISAs

At the moment I have a Cash ISA account with Triodos, and I am hoping to open a savings account with them soon.

Firstly, the customer service I've received from them has been excellent. They really care about their customers. It's what you'd expect from an ethical bank.

Triodos only finance projects that have social and environmental benefits. It's lovely to know where your money is going. You can see all the projects they finance on their website. They also send out a magazine to people who have accounts with them, and I've found it really interesting.

Their website is really well designed, nice to look at and easy to use. I'm assuming that all the statements are paperless - my ISA account is, which means less bits of paper lying about. They don't have any branches so it's all internet banking. This doesn't however mean that you lose out on good customer service. I lost my password and username to my ISA and they got new ones to me really quickly (it probably would have been even quicker if I'd spoken to them on the phone, but I used e-mail).

This bank doesn't have the highest interest rates, but they're still quite good. It's very likely that they're financing a project near you. Rather than sending money abroad to finance dirty and unethical projects that cause people to suffer, Triodos invests in UK projects that are doing some really great things, and I think that's how every bank should be.
