Great friendly bank, good products (Yorkshire Bank)

Advantages: helpful, great current account, good mortgage rates

Disadvantages: not many branches, shut at 4pm!

I have always banked with one of the major high street banks until I decided that their service had deteriorated and decided to move. I opened an account with Yorkshire bank and also moved my mortgage there. I can only comment on my years experience however I have never experienced anything but great customer service from them. They have internet and telephone banking available which is very easy to set up and they also offer a great account where you have a small monthly fee but get travel insurance, gadget insurance and mobile insurance included as well as identity theft cover which i think is a great thing to have.
The staff are always very friendly inthe banks and you get the feeling of a small local bank where they know all their customers rather than a large corporation where you are just another number.
They have always been understanding with any problems I have had and have assisted quickly with any enquiries I have had. The only negative is that there anrent really many branches around so I guess this could be a problem if there is not one in your area.

Summary: Small local bank with traditional values - recommended!
