When I was in B and Q I noticed they were selling a pack of 3 disposable barbeques in the sale for £7. 14 usual price was£ 8. 98.
Although it is not quite barbeque weather yes I bought some as they will come in handy for the summer.
I have used disposable barbeques from B and Q before .we have a standard barbeque we use at home. We do not use it a lot but occasionally.

So why did I buy these disposable barbeques? Well I bought them because in the past I have taken them on summer picnics also on holidays and we have had barbeques on the beach. I have used them at home, when the barbeque we have will not cook enough burgers for us and our guests.
Make sure that they allow barbeques where you are going to use them.

So what is a disposable barbeque?

The ones from B and Q are much the same as others I have bought. You get a deep foil tray which has pin pricks in the base. (Allows air to get in fire needs air to burn). The foil tray measures about 12 inches /30 cm x 8 inches/20 cm about the size of a standard grill pan. When you buy the barbeque it has a paper/card sheet over the top of the grill this is blue and has a picture of flames on it. Also instructions and care notes are printed here; the foil tray has charcoal in it which is treated with a substance to make it light easily. Over the top of the charcoal is a thin metal grill to put your sausages / burgers on.

These barbecues come with a paper with which to light the charcoal so all you need is a match, but I usually have more paper available.
I remember these barbeques are quite easy to light and will reach cooking heat after a little while.

You can fit about 6 to 8 burgers on one of these barbeques and 12 sausages.

I can not tell you how long these barbeques remain at cooking temperature for but I have always found it long enough to cook a couple of trays full of food. Only just Suitable for up to 6 peoples food really. You may decide that for 6 people depending on quantity of meat you are barbequing you might do better with 2 of these barbeques.

I have found that these barbeques are best used on a raised surface a couple of stones /rocks on the beach are good.
There are barbeque sites in several countryside places with raised barbeque structures. In Wendover wood Bucks there is a barbeque area. I have noticed barbeque areas at other places too but can not remember where,
When we have travelled through France we have found many parking places with a barbeque area too.

Disposable barbeques are suitable for barbequing many different foods on as well as preprepared shop bought burgers and sausages.
I enjoy chicken that I prepare with a tikka covering. Or chicken with garlic butter in the centre. You could marinate a steak to cook too. I like barbequed sweet corn and tomatoes too, I usually place a whole tomato with some herbs in a foil packet and barbeque it that was. Mushrooms barbeque well too. Remember the rolls and the salad to maker the barbeque meal complete
As with any barbeque do make sure you meat is cooked properly,


These disposable barbeques take a little time to cool down before you dispose of them make sure they are completely out
Disposal of barbeques. Make sure you dispose of these responsibly make sure they are out before you throw them in the rubbish bin. If you are using these on the beach take these metal trays home and dispose of them in your bin do not litter the beach countryside with them. Make sure you leave the place where you barbequed tidy.


I have not always disposed of my disposable barbeque. If you are careful you can remove the grill bit dispose of the used charcoal fill again with charcoal put the grill back and use another time.

If using these in the countryside this summer please be responsible. In hot dry weather it does not take much for a fire to start and destroy land.

The disposable barbeques that I have bought at B &Q are good, pretty much the same as other disposable barbeques. Have fun this summer, just hope we get some barbeque weather.
