Advantages: Very easy to use, cooks food nicely and is quite cheap to buy

Disadvantages: ---------

I have a brilliant gas barbeque but find it a bit cumbersome to drag out of the shed when I am just cooking for myself or me and a friend. For this reason I decided to buy a disposable barbeque to keep under the sink for a grilling emergency.

I got my disposable barbeque from B&Q and paid about £3 for it because it had been marked down in the sale.

The barbeque looks like an oversized Chinese takeaway container because the coals are held in an aluminium container. This is topped with a sheet of special paper to make lighting the barbeque easy and then there is a mesh grill for cooking the food on.

It is very easy to light the barbeque because all I had to do was light the paper using a lighter and wait for the coals to heat up to cooking temperature. It takes about 15 or 20 minutes for the barbeque to heat up enough to cook on so remember to light it in plenty of time. Having said that, my old coals barbeque used to take upwards of half an hour to heat so that isn't too bad I don't think.

This disposable barbeque is big enough to cook 6 burgers on leaving plenty of room for the hot air to circulate around them. I do not cook sausages very often on the barbeque because they never taste cooked properly to me but I would think a pack of 12 thick sausages would fit perfectly on here.

It cooks everything to perfection, if a little slower than my gas barbeque. Because the coals are quite high up in the base of the barbeque it means the food does cook quicker than I thought it would but thankfully it did not burn the outside of my burgers before the middle was cooked. I found my food cooked evenly through wherever it was placed on the mesh, but I would suggest you shake it a little bit before lighting the barbeque to make sure the coals are spread out well.

As far as cooking time goes I would say each disposable barbeque will give you enough time to cook 3 or 4 rounds of food but even after that it is still possible to cook on the barbeque it just means you will wait that little bit longer for your dinner.

I am going to go back to B&Q tomorrow and stock up on these clever little barbeques because it saves me dragging my gas barbeque about and also when this one is cold it is a simple case of putting it in with my recycling and there is no cleaning and scrubbing involved.

Summary: I will buy more of these to avoid having to use a big gas barbeque just to feed me!
