I vowed we wouldn't have a gas barbecue - that burning charcoal was the only way. Then I went to a friend's for a meal and to my amazement, her husband didn't need to light the barbecue almost two hours before we were going to eat! The food was cooked, and not just on the outside, it wasn't all dished up at the same time looking charred and what's more, it kept warm on one half of the barbecue while we ate what was on our plates.
