Advantages: Healthy way to cook food.
Disadvantages: Cleaning it.
I have had a George Foreman 10099 for years now, in fact I am on my second one now (will explain later) and it is one of the products in my kitchen that I could not live without.
George, as I call my George Foreman 10099, is a large indoor grilling machine. It is the ideal replacement for a frying pan and a grill, a healthy way to cook for your food.
At 37cm in width and 33cm in depth it is one of the larger George Foreman Grills. You can cook up to 6 pieces of meat at a time and being a family of 5 it is the perfect size for us.
I cook everything on George, chicken breasts, burgers, sausages, steak, bacon etc. You simply put the food on the grill, set the timer to how many minutes you require and it will cook the food for you, just make sure you turn it occassionally.
Before you use the grill you need to turn it on for 5 minutes to warm it up. There is a variable heat setting, between 1 and 10, although I usually cook things on maximum heat. The timer device is simply a button that turns the minutes up 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc. When your grill is preheated and you have set the heat and time setting you just press the start button and begin cooking. When the grill has finished it will beep at you which I think is a great way to remind you that your food is cooked.
Included with your George is a plastic tray, you need to put this at the bottom of George and this will collect all the fat and grease from your food. It is a great way of seeing how cooking on George is making your food much healthier as you can see for yourself all the fat and grease coming out of your meat.
The grill retails at aroung the £50 mark depending on where you buy it from but I think it is worth every penny. I use mine so often and would not be without it.
The one and only negative to this grill is cleaning it. It gets very dirty when cooking and it is a nightmare to clean. I use a cloth to clean mine, with hot soapy water, and it takes me ages to get it clean. I said this is my second George and the reason I had to replace it was because I used to use a scrubber to clean my old one and I basically ruined it. You need to use something soft and gentle but this does make cleaning hard.
The George Foreman 10099 Family Health Grill really is the perfect way to cook your food and everything that is cooked on George is always very tasty. I love my health grill and think it is a must for all kitchens.
Summary: The best way to cook your meat.

- 27/09/09 Good review. I dont know why people keep saying this is a difficult appliance to clean. The moment the food is taken off simply use a damp rag to take off everything quickly. Because it's so hot after it has switched off, the rag or even kitchen paper roll will remove everything off quickly. |
