I have previously reviewed a smaller George Foreman grill but I have since upgraded, well my Nan upgraded for me as she bought it!
There was nothing wrong with my previous grill but as this was a present, who am I to refuse??

This is very nice, very aesthetically pleasing, easy on the eye and very modern looking. Even the box is smart and trendy with it black colouring.
The grill is larger than my previous one but not as big as I initially thought it would be, I had pondered on get this and had seen the photo's in the Argos catalogue and on Amazon and it looked like it would be a fair size but the plates are only slightly bigger than the old one.

The top of the grill is silver in colour and features a handy orange rectangular indication light, it has a chrome effect handle and as I have already said, it does look quite smart.

It came with two drip trays and two spatulas which are a must have when using a George Foreman grill. The tray sits underneath the grill to catch the excess oil and fat and the spatulas are shaped to fit the grill plates perfectly.

For those unaware the George Foreman Grills have plates that are bumpy like a griddle pan, so any excess oil/fat can run down the channels away from the food to keep your food as healthy as possible, the spatulas provided fit the grooves and make removing the food very easy.

The plastic drip trays are like little boats that sit under the machine, just by the fat channels and catch the fat, when you have finished cooking wait for the fat to go hard and then dispose of it. It always surprises me just how much fat does come out of the food!

So anyway, this grill is quite fab! Not only does it look spiffing on my work top just sat there, but for space saving it can be stored on it's side, it clips together and stays that way, handy if your low on surface space!

So far I have used this for cheese on toast... nom, nom, pork chops, tuna steaks, sausages and bacon.
Cheese on toast is delicious, I thickly sliced a loaf of bread, lightly toasted it under the grill and then popped it buttered and cheesy onto the George Foreman, having never tried it before I thought that it may be an epic fail!!! But alas it worked and melted the cheese perfectly, it held two slices of bread comfortably. Everything else was also cooked to perfection, pork chops (medallions) took about 12 minutes, tuna steaks I left for about 15 - 20 minutes (just in case), fresh sausages and bacon took all of 8 - 10 minutes and they were cooked nicely, just right.

The floating hinge makes cooking simple, and even the juiciest steak will cook perfectly, the floating hinge means that the top adjusts to fit whatever food you put in it giving you one a half inches in depth. This helps as your food will be evenly cooked and not squished!

Cleaning is very simple as the non-stick plates make it easy. I just wipe the plates over with a damp sponge whilst the grill is still warm.

There's an on/off switch located on the side of this grill, which is a feature my last one was lacking.

Overall I am pretty impressed with this grill, the way it works and the look makes it a necessity in my kitchen... well for now anyway!

It has a normal retail price of £49.99 but can currently (June 2012) be bought for £29.99 in Argos and from Amazon.
