Advantages: Excellent cooking on lower heat - hood prevents cinderising your food

Disadvantages: None to date

Since "taking the plunge" into Gas BBQ's, this one has really been worth the money. There are of course much cheaper products out there, but the outback has great longevity and the quality of the parts is excellent. Arrives in 2 large boxes and assembly took about 60-90 mins...not the easiest to assemble and you will need 2 people for some of the assembly as some bits are heavy, but it's not too difficult either.it's only because it is quite large. Also makes it hard to steal as built it weighs a lot!
Definately get a cover if you want to store outside!...and often worth buying it at the outset as you can often get a discount as opposed to buying later on its own (about 35-40 quid). In terms of performance, cooking quality is excellent - I can cater for 12+ and have a mountain of food ready ay the same time thanks to the warming rack and being able to control the burners - so I no longer have to present burnt offerings. The hood is a great feature as you can get it up to heat, then turn the burners down low to get a more controlled cook for really well turned out food by letting the heat build up inside the hood. This makes such a difference in food taste and presentation - plus you can start using it more for day to day items - eg fish or fry ups(rather than smell out the house!). The only problem I have had is sometimes the ignitor switch needs a few goes to get the burners going - but only a minor niggle. Well worth spending the extra on this vs cheaper makes. you can do rotisserie chicken etc, but I haven't tried as the rotisserie is about 42 quid extra. Have really enjoyed every minute and recommend A+. p.s get new coals every year for about 6 quid and add teak oil maybe twice a year to keep the wood good. Also clean stains off the wood the prevent staining - mine still looks new after 3 years!

Summary: Good, sturdy, high quality.
