Advantages: Cooks well, easy to use

Disadvantages: None

Even though we have a back garden, we don't actually have BBQs that often. We used to have a really nice BBQ but sadly our shed leaked during the winter and absolutely wrecked it. Baring this in mind and the amount we would use it we decided to purchase a couple of the disposable BBQs when we were in Sainsburys during the hot spell we had at the beginning of May.

Sainsburys only tend to sell these during the spring and summer as they are seasonal items. We paid £6.00 for a twin pack as the plastic which holds the two together was damaged but seeing as we were not going to be using the plastic aside from putting it in the bin, that didn't bother us at all! They are usually £7.99 for a twin pack. I haven't seen them being sold singularly in Sainsburys this year but I am sure they do still do them singularly somewhere.

The first thing you will see is a piece of cardboard which has the Sainsbury's logo on it and also the product information. The BBQ is a sturdy foil tray and comes with all the instructions you will need to be able to use it. Once you have removed the trays from the plastic wrapper and the piece of cardboard, you will find a wire rack which is where you put the food that you want to cook, then underneath the rack is what looks like a piece of paper and then some charcoal. We found it really easy to use and the instructions were very easy to follow.

We found the BBQ quick and safe to use. It was also very easy to use. To use it all that has to be done is to remove the packaging until you are left with the tray, rack, charcoal and piece of paper. We removed the rack and lit the piece of paper - it didn't take very long to take. Once it is lit, the paper will burn away and the charcoal will become visiable. Just a note, do give the trays a good shake before you open them as the charcoal tends to stick in the middle when the best way to make ure you get even amounts of heat is to have the charcoal all over the bottom. Once the charcoal was at the correct heat, we put the food on. The best we to get it nicely cooked is just to keep a good eye on it and keep turning the food. Always make sure the food is cooked all the way through before serving.

The BBQ needs to be used on a a flat, non flammable surface - not a plastic table as my Mum suggested when I called her to ask if she had anything we could use!! We used an old pile of paving slabs we had in the shed which was perfect. We found the BBQ really easy to use and it worked as good as a proper BBQ grill. It was absolutely perfect for us as there is only myself, husband and daughter who will eat BBQ'd food. The food cooked very nicely and pretty quickly in my opinon. It is a great little thing to use and ideally it is suited to 2-3 people. It will not cook for anymore than that but if you have purchased the twn pack then you could always use them both and cook for 6.

Good value and easy to use!
