	Pommes Boutique, Munich ... Pommes Boutique is a Belgian chip restaurant on Amalienstrasse, in the student-friendly Schwabing district of Munich. Their main menu item is chips, and although you can buy various meaty and vegetarian accompaniments to your Euro3 bag of chips these really are side attractions. The restaurant itself is very, very small. Perhaps 20 people could sit inside, if they all knew each other very well and didn t mind sitting close together. You d get maybe another ten outside. The walls are painted in bright colours and the seats are the same wood as the tables. 	Buddha Bar ... Buddha Bar has a reputation for being an amazing place to socialise in Paris; the place to be seen in. We, however, found this to be a typical tourist bar. We were directed there by our hotel team, who had probably heard about it from other guests staying there. I doubt it was the kind of bar that this particular member of staff would have gone to, as one of the locals! Many seemed to love the fact it s a big, bold bar, but we found it was a little too big to have a good atmosphere. It was lively, by all means, just overcrowded, I guess. 	Other Bars or Beerhalls in Munich ... Hofbraukeller is the quieter, less touristy cousin of the famous Hofbrauhaus. You can find it on Wienerplatz a ten minute walk from the Deutsches Museum, and it has the requisite beer hall along with a large beer garden. There s a children s playground in the beergarden as well, and it s shaded with trees so you can sit out with no fear of sunburn. Traditional Bavarian food is served and they have some fantastically good value lunchtime specials - there s nowhere else in Munich you can buy half a duck with dumplings and veg for six euro, and it tastes good too.
