Advantages: Homemade beer, nice prices, nice atmosphere

Disadvantages: Can get too crowded and smokey, hard to find

Like "Drink Bar", "Cztery Katy" and "Mandala" which I've also reviewed, this is a great calm cafe/pub located close to Metro Centrum. On a side street and not particularly well advertised, it's sometimes difficult to find - I have often struggled despite knowing where it is!

Found on Ul. Zurawia, climb the stairs and open up the door and you will see several seats, a counter with a menu, some cakes and drinks, it's likely there will be jazz playing and that people will be smoking, it's at this point when you nosy around the corner of the counter to see an aisle with more tables in, leading to three little chambers of tables, one of which is outside.

This place is extremely popular and it's nearly always full but there's normally one table free. The crowd this place attracts is friendly and calm and this is a welcome venue for people of all ages, as long as they don't mind the slightly smokey atmosphere. The decor is pretty cool and there's lots of books that can be read, likewise there are some pretty interesting pictures on the walls - no less than the nudey art in the gents toilet which compensates for the fact that even one person will struggle to queue outside of the toilet without putting his bottom into the face of a seated customer nearby!

The homemade cake here is excellent but my favourite thing is definitely the homemade beer, reasonably strong and completely organic - a 2 litre jug of this stuff works out at around 25zl - so not too bad at all. You can of course drink it in far smaller amounts! It is open from 11am to 11pm on weekdays and from 1pm to 11pm on weekends. The staff are English speaking and providing you find it, I'm sure you will have a great time!
