The Stella Bar was a regular haunt of mine during my time in Cairo. It's the kind of place that you normally only read about in old books. Along the busy mainstreet Talaat Harb heading towards Midan Tahrir there is a plethora of shops selling clothes and jewellery, hidden amongst the bustle are saloon doors and a covered up dusty sign saying Stella. Myself and a thirsty Australian decided to see what was inside and to our surprise entered what was to be my second home for the next 2 months.
