Cafe Biba is a great place to go if you want to just hang out in the centre of Warsaw, but not the very centre where there are too many people.

The beers are cheap, which is usually the prerequisite for this sort of place and the food is good value. Italian cuisine is the main fare and isn't too bad at all. I had a pizza and although it came in from the local pizzeria, it was fresh and hot and cheesy - just the way I like it!

The bar staff here are brilliant - not only do they go to the solarium for 3 hours a day, but they are fast, they don't mess up the orders and they do it with a smile.

One of the best things for those coming from the UK is that this place is foreigner friendly. It is one of the only bars in Eastern europe where a black man or an asian will not be unfairly ogled into leaving the place.

The outdoor furniture is also worth a mention because it is quality - no flimsy plastic chairs here. Solid wood and metal furniture makes you feel like you aren't eating at McDonalds.
