Café SperlNewest Review: ... to come for conversation - I often go around 7pm to meet up with friends, and in winter it is also open on Sundays between 11am and 8pm, and there is often live music on a Sunday afternoon which proves a pleasant change. A lot of the traditional family-run coffee houses in Vienna have been threatened following the influx of Starbucks - since November 2001 there have been a total of 6 Starbucks branches opening in Vienna, and sadly Starbucks looks like being here to stay in Vienna. Sperl, being tucked away on Gumpendorferstraße (about five minutes walk from the lower end of Mariahilferstraße and two minutes walk from the Wienzeile, which borders the Naschmarkt) is unlikely to suffer from the presence of Starbucks a mere 150m away around the corner on Theobaldgasse.
