This bar is a must-visit for a sense of the old Belgian tradition of drinking beer. It is a wonderful high-ceiling room, admittedly thick with smoke, with smart but friendly waiters bustling between tables. A wide range of excellent Belgian beer is on offer, from old favourites to the more esoteric (such as the lambic beers which are fermented by yeasts found naturally in the air and carry a refreshingly sweet/sour tinge to them). The furnishings in dark wood are comfortable, and although some of the decoration of the walls is clearly not original the atmosphere here is very authentic.
