Disadvantages: Bit quiet when it comes to atmosphere

Nova Cukiernia is a little cafe located relatively close to the Central Station on Ul. Zlota, an area which is a little bit scruffy and is likely to be re-developed over the coming years, one of the "outstanding points of beauty" though is the pile of cakes in the shiny little Nova Cukiernia outfit which sparkles.

Tiled floors with shiny metal chairs and marble tables host old ladies treating themselves, the odd business man in for a cup of coffee or women in their teens or 20s nattering away over coffee, tea, cakes and ice cream. And where do I come in?

They serve beer too! At a reasonable price of 5.5zl and with the yuminess of a whole range of fresh cakes, from cream cakes to more exotic looking fruity treats and some fine ice cream close by. It's really quite a decent place to go despite clearly being more geared to the female of the species.

The place is only open in the day though (opening at 8), so it closes fairly early at 8pm (7pm on weekends). There are a few other branches of this mini chain - Krakowskie Przedmiescie 41 (centre) in the centre, Galeria Mokotow (a mall in the south of the city) and one which does not serve alcohol at Ul. Karolkowa (Wola)
