Advantages: Very relaxing, pleasant staff and nice atmosphere, good for kids

Disadvantages: Bit more dear than its contemporaries

Pub Lolek is a pub within Pole Mokotowskie, a recreational park in Warsaw but you can drive there still though. Out of the choices within the park, this is the least and most desirable of them. The name Lolek derives from the Polish cartoon "Bolek i Lolek", the most popular ever Polish cartoon that aired from 1964 to 1980 and was shown in numerous countries, it aired as "Jym & Jam" and "Lennie & Bennie" in the UK. The park Pole Mokotowskie has 5 pubs of which 3 are: Lolek, Bolek and Tola (an additional character from the cartoon)

The pub itself is no cartoon, it's the classiest of the 3 pubs with security milling around at the entrance during busy days and a continuous feast available to be bought by hungry customers, all traditional Polish food ranging from the simple traditional starters and dishes like homemade bread and lard, bigos (cabbage, bacon & sausage), pierogis (dumpling like tings) to spare ribs, black pudding, salmon, turkey steak, chicken & chips. There are also more healthier options like Feta salads etc.

The pub itself is pretty stylish, a big wooden structure with a roaring fire place (it is insanely hot inside in the summer) wooden tables and seats both in and out and a nice garden with fountains, fish and a shaded area for when it gets too hot. It's a very nice pub with nice food and perfect if you don't mind spending a few bob but there are considerably cheaper options in the park. There is a playground for kids and local bands regularly perform.

The prices for food aren't too over the top but the drinks are quite expensive 9zl (2.25) for a Zywiec or 12zl (3 quid) for a Paulaner.

Address: Ul. Rokitnicka 20, Warszawa, Poland
Web Address: www.lolekpub.pl (also In English)
The nearest tram or Metro stop is at Pole Mokotowskie from there you must walk across the park and past the manmade water feature (it's more than a pond but not quite a dam!)

Summary: Worth the extra if you're with kids
