Advantages: Indoor & outdoor; great political decorations; good atmosphere

Disadvantages: Limited (but typical) beer selection

We've been to SV twice, and on the second occasion bought the T-shirt, which is quite striking. The beer selection is somewhat limited - weisses and the inevitable Gaffel Kolsch - but the service is excellent. The bar has a Koln (Cologne) feel to it, and has both outside and inside areas. The outside area is right next to the river; the inside is spacious and features huge numbers of political photographs and press clippings, many of them very humorous (including Bill Clinton saying "Ich bin ein Kolsch"). The overall atmosphere is cosy and relaxed. We only tried the food once but it was excellent and reasonably priced. The owner, a distinguished looking fellow with a fine handlebar moustache, was wandering around and greeting customers - we nicknamed him the Kolsch Angel (der kolsch-engel). Highly recommended.
