Starbucks is the market domination coffee shop in the United States, but it doesn't mean it is the best. There are smaller, lesser known chains that are not nationwide, but do provide better coffee.

However, in the United States, you can find a Starbucks everywhere you go. They just seem to pop up! They are usually located in shopping malls or shopping centers, where there are a lot of stores around and you can go somewhere to sit and refuel.

I knew a girl that worked at Starbucks and she explained a lot to me that I didn't know. I recently learned that they have different blends of coffee at one time. I used to go there and my order was "Can I have a cup of coffee black please?" Now I know that they usually offer a bold blend, a mild blend, and a decaf. They have their daily selction written in chalk on a board, so read that before you order coffee.

I learned that Starbucks is starting to offer a small lunch menu now. They now have sandwiches and even an oven to grill them. Not all locations do this, so don't expect to see one in every starbucks.

Another little insider information I learned was that they sell something called "black apron exclusive coffees." These are apparently higher grade coffes that are more rare and hard to find. I had a cup of one of the black apron exlcusives, and I have to say I was amazed. It had a complex body and flavor.

Starbucks has something for everyone, it is not only coffee. Everytime I go with my girlfriend, she gets some Iced Tea/Lemonade combination. They offer Lattes, mochas, and mixed coffee drinks. They also have many flavored teas made by Tazo, a very high quality tea company.

The atmosphere at most stores is very relaxing. They offer a couple of sofa chairs, wooden tables with chairs, and somewhat dim lighting. They have typical coffeehouse music, either light jazz or acoustic music. It's usually not too loud, so you can still talk without it bothering you.

Overall, Starbucks is a nice place to relax. The prices are reasonable at most locations and the staff is usually friendly. If you need a cup of coffee, check one out!

Summary: A good coffee shop
