Radox Moisturise Shower Cream
by cornishchic
I always pick up shower gels and creams when I see when on offer and I've got a few extra pennies. It's just something else I won't have to buy if I'm having a particularly skint month. Radox seem to be on offer quite regularly and I picked up this shower cream from my local Asda.
The Radox moisturise shower cream is widely ... available to purchase from supermarkets and places like Boots and Superdrug. It has a RRP of £1.99 but if you are going to buy it, look around as it is usually on sale for just a pound, there is no need to pay full price when it is on offer more than when it isn't.
The packaging made me choose this one from the shelf. The shower cream comes inside a transparent bottle with white detailing and a pretty pink flower on the front, it's definitely girly looking. It contains all the normal information on the back. The thing I really like about Radox shower products are that it comes with a hook built into the top of the bottle so you can hang it up on the shower saving that all important shelf space in the bath. If you don't want to hang it up the hook can sit nice and neatly into the shape of the bottle. There is a white flip top lid on the bottom of the bottle and I find this easy to open even with wet hands. It closes securely so if you do hang it up, you don't have to worry about the product seeping out when it's not in use.
The shower cream itself is a pearly white colour and has a creamy consistency. The creamy elements also match the scent as it has a luxurious yet sweet fragrance to it. The shower cream is described as a calming blend of chamomile and jojoba oil, I wouldn't say the scent is particularly calming though, I don't recognise any of the smells but the sweet fragrance definitely isn't calming. The creamy consistency is nice as it isn't too runny nor too thick. I find it lathers easily without much work and does do a good job of cleaning my skin despite not much effort required. After my shower I find that the sweet scent does tend to linger, although quite subtle compared to when you are using it, it is nice. It doesn't linger for long but that doesn't bother me as I use lotions after my shower anyway. This is described as being moisturising and I think it does match up to these claims, my skin is left moisturised, not as much as I would like but it is slightly moisturised. I still feel like I have to use a body lotion afterwards.
For a quid, I think this shower cream from Radox is definitely worth it. It has quite a luxurious feel to it despite being cheap. The sweet scent is nice despite not being calming like the bottle claims. It cleans skin with ease and leave it's slightly moisturised. It's recommended by me. Read the complete review |

Radox Herbal Nourish Bath Soak
by alyson29
I am so definitely feeling my age these days, as instead of yearning for the end of the working day so that I can socialise with my friends, I cannot wait to get home and sink my tired and aching body into a hot scented bubble bath. I do not consider myself to be loyal to any particular brand when it comes to bath products although I ... have to confess to being a huge fan of Lush, but due to their price, they are not something I use on a day to day basis.
Whilst carrying out a Boots online shop earlier this year I discovered that the entire range of Radox products were discounted and never one to miss a bargain I placed quite a few different bath soaks into my shopping basket with this review discussing Nourish.
I have fond recollections of using Radox bath products during my childhood and can vividly recall that I considered them to be a premium brand due to their beautiful scents. However, my recent experiences of the brand have been quite poor, as I feel that they have compromised on the quality of their products in relation to fragrances, which are far too delicate for my liking. Consequently, I wasn't particularly looking forward to trying out this bath soak.
Appearance wise the transparent plastic packaging is both calming and relaxing, as it enables us to witness the 500 ml of creamy coloured contents. I had never previously purchased Nourish and as my purchase was made online I had no idea of the fragrance, so was intrigued to learn that it contains a nurturing blend with ginger and shea butter. I buy a large number of skin products containing shea butter content, particularly as it is highly moisturising and soothing for the skin.
I find the Radox bath soak bottles easy to hold and due to their slim shape I am able to maintain a firm grip even when they are full. The bottle offers a screw top lid and only a small amount of the good consistency bath soak is needed. It is easily poured and as soon as it makes contact with the running bath water, plentiful white fluffy bubbles begin to appear. The scent that greeted me was extremely favourable with the shea butter being considerably evident and combined with a spicy kick although I cannot admit to being able to recognise the aroma as ginger.
However, the spiciness mixed with the shea butter seemed very familiar and I racked my brain for days trying to think what it reminded me of, but to no avail although I am sure it reminds me of a luxurious dessert. My recent experiences of Radox bath soaks has been disappointing due to the majority of the fragrances disappearing within just minutes of being poured into the bath water.
I really didn't have high hopes for Nourish, but I was pleasantly surprised, as the aroma lingered for the duration of my bath although it wasn't intense enough to fill the room with it vanishing as soon as the water had run away. As a result, it provided an enjoyable bathing experience, as the shea butter offered softness to the water, which gave me the distinct impression that it was adding moisturiser to my skin. I also find that all Radox Bath Soaks offer quality bubbles, as they remain for my entire bath without that familiar popping sound appearing as soon as soap has been introduced to the water.
I would describe the skin on my body as being normal with the exception of a few dry patches that I experience on my elbows and knees. Whilst the shea butter content was moisturising for my skin, I did not feel it to be sufficient, so I felt it necessary to apply a body cream or butter, which I use as part of my daily beauty routine. Unfortunately, the stunning aroma failed to transfer to my skin, which was disappointing, particularly as it had been evident during my entire bath.
I have used quite a few of the bath soaks from Radox and this is the only one that I would repurchase although I feel it appropriate to remove one star due to the aroma not lingering on my skin, but perhaps I'm being a little too critical! Whilst Radox Bath Soaks generally retail at £2 for a 500 ml bottle, they can frequently be found for £1 in supermarkets and stores such as Boots and Superdrug.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading. Read the complete review |

Matey Mer-Matey Bubble Bath
by lights84
Bathtime is a frequent occurrence in our household as my little toddler finds new and inventive ways daily to make herself as grubby as possible. When she was a baby I only washed her new and again to keep her skin from getting sore but now it's a daily occurrence and sometimes more than that.
Now if there's one thing my 2 ... year old loves it's water, and another thing is bubbles. I asked my husband to pick up some bubble bath for her when he was in town after work and since he couldn't find the usual Peppa Pig brand we buy he picked up this Matey bubble bath instead.
Each bottle comes with a different cartoon figure on the front of it which my daughter finds very appealing as the colours are bright and the face quite pronounced. The one we have is the 'Mer-Matey' version, it is a strange wavy shape as the sides are designed so fingers can grip them even if the bottle becomes sticky, and the screwtop lid is easy to open but not for little fingers.
The bottle also carries a blurb about the history of the Mer-Matey but since my little girl is too young to care about this I will spare you the details here except to say that it is clever copywriting which has no doubt helped to sell the brand's popular image over the years.
The bubble bath is meant to be hypoallergenic ie kind to skin, and we haven't had any problems with it so far. It has a sweet sickly smell which is meant to imitate flowers I think though it's hard to say. Maybe I'm just used to Lush products though which always smell like they're meant to due to the purity of essential oils.
Now onto the bubble front. The Matey brand certainly does this well, much better than the Peppa Pig bubble bath we had been using previously. With PP they disappear very quickly and there aren't many of them even if you add quite a bit of bubble bath. With this Matey bubble bath the whole bath quickly becomes afroth with bubbles, much to my toddler's delight. Okay, and mine as well. Bubbles are fun!!
A 500ml bottle of Matey bubble bath will set you back around a fiver. There are sometimes deals on in places like Boots or Asda though so it's worth keeping an eye out and stocking up when you come across it, which I am now planning to do. The bottle lasts quite a long time and you don't have to use much to get a good amount of bubbles, enough to keep toddler happy for the duration of a long bath while you get a bit of bathroom scrubbing done. A mother's work is never done eh??
I would give this bubble bath 5 stars BUT the only thing I'm not sold on is the smell, which is a bit too sickly for me, though I am still nauseous as I'm pregnant.. But even so, I adore the smell of most lush products, and the Peppa Pig bubble bath doesn't have such a strong smell. This one does. Sokeep that in mind if you plan to try it. Otherwise, I do recommend it, and I give it 4 stars. Read the complete review |
