Ancienne Ambiance Arangia Bath Salts
by katyj10
This is a review of Arangia Bath Salts from Ancienne Ambiance London. I received a tube of these bath salts to try in a beauty box and used them over the space of a couple of baths.
Description and ingredients
Made with refreshing orange zest, arangia salts are a delicious mood lifter with a mix of sea salts, Epsom ... salts and delicious orange zest, arangia salts are a hundred percent natural and free from any harmful chemicals. These salts are bursting with orange fragrance and are ideal to help bring forth happy thoughts. Arangia salts are particularly beneficial for maintaining a healthy, smooth and glamorous skin.
History
First cultivated in China around 2500 BC, oranges made their way to ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome and were most commonly used for medicinal purposes.
In use
I used my bath salts in a nice hot bath but you can use them with olive oil to create a natural body exfoliator if you wish. I just tipped in a handful with each bath and the tube was soon gone!
My thoughts
I haven't used bath salts in a long time, mainly because I usually use bubble bath and bath salts along with bath cubes seem to have largely died out in the shops as a pampering treat. I was open to using these though and knew they would be expensive to buy so planned an evening in the bath when I wasn't going to wash my hair so I could enjoy the spa experience. I was pleased that they were all natural and promised to lift mood and waited for the happy thoughts to come!
Results
I have to say I could hardly notice these bath salts in the bath, they were so subtle. OK so they melted in the water straight away so I didn't have to sit on a gritty base but I really couldn't smell anything on the water or on my skin afterwards so I was a little disappointed. I certainly didn't achieve a glamorous skin so I think the claims are a little far-fetched to be honest.
Price
The bath salts cost £20 for 300ml which is pretty expensive in my opinion. You do need to use a generous amount each time to be able to detect or smell the product in your bath.
Final word
This was a brand I had never heard of before but they do have a very nice website. The company sell scented candles mainly and a few room accessories and jewellery. The bath salts fall within the Goddess range which is a nice way to describe a luxury product. For the price I really can't see a repeat purchase as I was quite underwhelmed by these bath salts. Lavera Body Spa Bath Sea Salts
by Sarccyslayer
I am a fan of sea salt products because they are brilliant for my skin and having signed up to one of those sites where for £10 a month you are sent a box of products to try, I have been more than impressed with some of the products I have tried and tested.
Lavera isn't a company I have come across, nor remember seeing any ... products from whenever I have been out and about shopping. However, whenever you get one of these boxes you do let a brief resume of the product and what it is meant to do. Lavera it seems are a cosmetics company who are 100% Certified Organic and were formed over 20 years ago and they sell a whole host of products, over 100 according to their website which range from Sunscreen, make-up, hair conditioner, lip balms, toothpaste, products for men, babies and there is also a hypoallergenic range to name but a few. Having had a quick look over their website, it really well laid out, it is safe to say they do everything you can think of or might need.
The product I was actually sent was an 80g sachet of bath sea salt crystals which arrives in your usual type of sachet with the instructions to tear the corner, use dry hands though, otherwise it is hard to open. On the sachet which is half white and half orange coloured, there is a picture of an orange, plus further information as to what the product is. If you shake it slightly, you can hear the salt crystals as they knock against each other.
To use the product my little card simply said, run a warm/hot bath and sprinkle the crystals into your bath as the precious 'Flor de Sal' an Organic Sea Salt Crystal which stimulates the skin together with calming Organic Sea Buckthorn provides intense nourishment especially for sensitive and dry skin. Which to me sounds absolutely delightful to me and no sooner had the package arrived and I had whiffed and sniffed all I could, I was running a bath and sprinkling my salts into it.
As the bath is running, you can smell the orange scent which is absolutely wonderful, it's really fresh and I couldn't wait to get into the bath. The one thing I like about sea salt is that one the skin it acts as an exfoliator and is therefore great for removing dead and dry skin cells leaving behind soft, smooth skin. Also to note is that Sea Salt is also packed full of vitamins and minerals and when used in a bath product like this one, it is those minerals and vitamins which are absorbed into the skin to help with circulation, relieve aches and pains, encourage skin cell regeneration. This particular sea salt is apparently from The Algarve. So add to the sea salt there is also Vitamin E which again helps to protect and repair your skin. Orange Oil wasn't a surprise find but it is good for detoxifying the body whilst helping to ease tension and stress. Jojoba Oil is an excellent moisturiser and is used to help soften and soothe your skin which is definitely essential when the sea salt is removing dead and dry skin cells and it works alongside the Shea Butter which also features, an ingredient which is known for its moisturising capabilities. The final ingredient to mention is Sea Buckthorn, something I have never heard of until now and it is said to be good for people who have skin condition such as dermatitis and dry skin and it said to help the battle with wrinkles because it is packed full of Vitamin C and E.
Having used this product from the sachet, from which I got once use out of it because I shoved it all in the bath. I liked this product so much that I have since bought two further sachets which were on offer in Holland and Barrett and a few other products from the Lavera range which I will review once I've finished them. Each sachet will cost in the region of £2 to £3 though I paid £2.58 for two on a buy one get one free offer, so they are quite pricey if compared to similar products in a sachet, however, this does contain sea salt and many products which do contain sea salt are more expensive. That said, it is really lovely, it leave you soft silky skin, the scent of oranges is really lovely and smells wonderful on your skin and it is a really relaxing experience. A product that I definitely recommend. Read the complete review |

Geo Atlantic Sea Salt For Bathing
by xxfoxyredxx
A few weeks back out of the blue and for no apparent reason I came out in a really bad rash all over my body in patches. I was itchy and scratchy and as time progressed it got worse to the point I was waking up to have a scratch. I took some allergy relief tablets which helped a little but in the mean time I realised that it was probably ... a product that I'd used that had upset my skin and so took my skincare routine back to basics along with washing everything I owned in sensitive more pure products and the likes.
I bath daily so one thing I bought to soothe my skin was this Geo Organics Atlantic Sea Salt. Costing £3.05 for a box of it in a local chemist I thought this would be more mild and gentle being a natural product infused with Aloe Vera (Known for soothing).
The Packaging:
The box this product comes in is very unisex in appearance and nothing fancy really. Its green and white in colour and on the front of it we are told that it is Geo Organics Atlanic Sea Salt For Bathing 'With Organic Aloe Vera' and that it is to Cleanse 'Tradionally harvested sea salt crystals cleanse skin while you bathe' and that it is to 'Soothe: Aloe Vera soothes and nutures skin with its natural healing properties' and there is a picture shown of an Aloe Vera plant and we are told that it meets Soil Association Organic Standards and is 250g in weight. Other information listed on the other three sides of the box includes being told a bit about the product, dosage advice is given (half a pack per pack), the ingreidents are listed and contact details for Venture foods (the manufacturer of the product) are given. Inside the salt comes in an easy to tear open white plastic bag though it isn't resealable. All in all simple but informative packaging this is.
Using The Salt:
Well this salt is thick white clumps of salt and of course you simply chuck half of a bag of this under running taps. It is like a rock salt and it does completely melt into the water so that means you are not sitting on sharp bits of salt thankfully that grazes your bum!
It makes the water slightly cloudy, there is no foam and no aroma to this at all. Lick your finger after using this (by accident of course as I did lol) or splash your face with it and lick yuor lips it simply tastes really, really salty and it isn't perfumed at all.
It felt really strange to be sat in effectively what is salty water with no fragrance and no bubbles to hide behind so on that point I didn't feel all that relaxed really. The water felt a little softer than plain water alone which was another surprise as I did think the Aloe Vera added to this would make the water feel more luxurious than it did.
However this was soothing enough on my sore skin though didn't moisturise me as such and again I felt weird getting out the bath after using 'Simple' soap and not smelling as clean as I'm used to though I am pretty sure I was clean type of thing of course as this is meant to be a cleansing product.
The Aloe Vera in this is meant to be great for drying, flaking, itching, cracking (skin) and fungal infections and of course I was itching prior to my bath and makin my skin really sore. I can't really agree this stopped me itching too much but it did help to quieten and settle it down a wee bit.
At £3.05 a box and getting only 2 baths from it I would say that if you have any of the above problems I have listed then its worth a try however for long term use and me bathing daily it isn't worth the money to me and personally I find Johnson's Baby Bath to be cheaper and just as effective as well as giving me some nice foam and fragrance at the same time which this lacked of course. I expected more from this for some reason but found it boring and would have perservered with it even for the money it costs for two baths had it of been more effective but it wasn't!
Available in all good supermarkets, chemists and online (Google it!). Read the complete review |
