The Sanctuary Body Wash
by dippykitty
I received a small bottle of this body wash in a set and have been converted ever since. It contains jojoba oil and sesame oil, both of which help to keep my skin feeling soft. On the whole, my skin isn't particularly dry but I am prone to getting dry skin at times on my upper arms, which often flakes after a bath or shower. ...
Because of this, I would often avoid using any kind of bath or shower gel as it only made the problem worse. That is until I came across this product. I now find that if I use this body wash, it prevents the dryness from happening so it definitely does something to restore my moisture balance. On the downside, I am prone to spots on my body and I have noticed that while this doesn't necessarily cause me to break out if I haven't already, it will do if I already have some spots. On this basis, I wouldn't recommend it if you're very prone to frequent breakouts as it's clearly a bit rich for skin that doesn't need a good helping hand with rebalancing.
The mini bottle that I have initially used doesn't look very big but has surprised me with how long it has lasted. On average, I use the body wash twice per week and predominantly across my arms, shoulders and chest area. A little goes quite a long way so the much larger bottle is good value for money in my eyes. From the smaller bottle, I have since moved onto the 250ml size, which is proving to be a very good buy!
The mini bottle worked slightly differently and the larger bottle has a lid which doesn't unscrew to let the product out. The main lid pulls off but beyond this, you need to press down and squeeze to dispense. This is fine when the bottle is fairly full but with wet hands, I'm finding it a bit more challenging as the product begins to run out. By.contrast, the smaller bottle just unscrewed which I managed even if my hands were wet and I would prefer this to have carried over to the larger bottle but it's only a small gripe.
The smell is lovely with a fresh, clean scent that lingers for some time after use. It does smell a tad spicy but you can also smell the essential oils too.
PRICE
A 250ml bottle costs £5.50 in Boots. This is pretty good value for money as I've never needed to use a huge amount in any one go. Read the complete review |

Dove Beauty Care Nectarine and White Ginger Burst Body Wash
by kat1234
I was given a couple of bottles of this wash by Dove for Christmas - I think my relatives know that I love Dove products as they are so gentle on my skin. I hadn't used this wash previously and I was intrigued by the combination of nectarine and ginger - both scents that I love - which seemed rather unusual
The bottle is ... slightly different to that pictured here. It is a thick white plastic bottle with flashes of bright orange. The picture on the front label is that of a nectarine cut in half. The bottle flips open to allow the wash, which is a cream rather than a gel, to be squeezed out. The wash is a light orange colour with a creamy consistency and a slight glazed/sparkly sheen to it. It smells very fruity - peachy (not sure how different this is to nectarine, but it definitely reminded me of peaches) but I really could not detect any ginger in it at all. When I sniff very, very closely there may be a slight hint of it but, if I had no idea what the fragrance was meant to be, I would never guess that it contained ginger.
I use this on a shower scrunchie and this allows me to lather the cream up quite well. It is not the best lathering wash I have ever used but it does lather adequately. On my skin it feels gentle and caring and certainly does not dry it out like some washes can. Whilst using, I can smell the peachy scent but, once rinsed off it is not noticeable on my skin at all. After use, I feel clean and fresh.
I have seen this wash on sale for around £1.50 (sometimes cheaper if there is a promotion on) and I think that this is a fair price for the wash. Aside from the slight disappointment of the lack of ginger fragrance, it is a good wash that cleans and cares for my skin so I think it worthy of four dooyoo stars and I would definitely purchase again. Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel
by CosmicLove
For Valentines day, my fiancé bought me the Uplifted gift set from Lush, which included two 100 gram bottles of shower gel.
I do love lush but I am not very familiar with their shower gels as I usually use their bubble bars and ballistics, so I wasn't sure which shower gel to try first. In the end I decided to use happy hippy ... and I love it!
Happy hippy is a refreshing, grapefruit fragranced shower gel. A 100 gram bottle retails at nearly £4 and a larger bottle is also available. The shower gel comes in a reasonably small plastic bottle which is see through with a black flip-top lid.
It has a black label wrapped around it, which has happy hippy written on the front, along with a description of the shower gel. The shower gel looks a bit like honey, it's the same colour and the consistency is just the right thickness. It isn't a creamy kind of shower gel, it is more of a gel-like consistency.
The smell of this is gorgeous, it smells just like Lush describe - it is citrusy, fresh, uplifting and the smell of grapefruit is definitely very noticeable. I am not usually a fan of grapefruit as I find the smell quite overpowering and bitter, however the smell of it in this shower gel has a nice sweet edge to it and while it is very strong it isn't over powering.
The shower gel lathers well and can be used as a shampoo, but I just use it on my body. It leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh and I haven't had any irritation from it. I am very pleased with this shower gel however I'm glad I got it as a gift as it is quite over priced and I have used much cheaper shower gels which smell just as nice and have the same effect on my skin, the price is justified by the fact that the ingredients are all natural though.
