Boots Natural Collection Mango & Papaya Shower Gel
by Whizz11
One of my favourite smells from the Boots Naturals Collection is the mango and papaya variety, a wonderful fruity smell and one that I have in a number of different products.
The shower gel is one of the products that I received in a bundle of mango and papaya products and I've enjoyed using it in my shower, even if my husband ... doesn't as he says its too fruity and girly for him. I would have to admit, I think this fragrance of shower gel is definitely more suited to women as it leaves you with a nice fruity smelling skin when you wash with it.
What I love about this shower gel is that it costs just £2 and is part of a range so you can really layer up with the different products. I have the body spray as well so I like to use this after I have showered to really lock in the flavour on my skin. I find it to be quite a strong fruity smell and has a nice after smell to it. People often compliment me on it as they can really smell me when I have washed with this in the morning.
The shower gel is described as a, "revitalising fragrance of Natural Collection Mango and Papaya Shower Gel that lathers skin leaving it cleansed and refreshed and gets you glowing." Its also described as nourishing and I like the way it makes my skin feel after use. I find it lathers up really well in the shower, especially if I use it with a bath puff. The product has a nice gel like consistency to it and it soaks into my skin well and holds onto it and doesn't slip off like some other shower gels do.
The bottle comes with a handy hook on the top so you can hang it up in your shower which is something I really like, I know, a silly point but I hate having bottles on the floor in my shower so the hook is great.
All in all, another excellent product from the Naturals Collection range. Read the complete review |

Boots Extracts Fairtrade Brazil Nut Body Scrub

Boots Extracts Brazil nut body scrub is a product I have had sitting in the bathroom cupboard for a while. I received it as part of one of Boots Christmas gift products that they put out every year, and I purchased this gift set at the Boxing Day sale. I opened this a few weeks ago and decided to try it ... out.
The body scrub comes in a plastic circular tub with screw on lid. This is not like other bath items that either come in squeezy tubes or pour out tubes, so the getting it out mechanism is a simple case of scooping out the scrub with your hand. I have slightly long nails and the exfoliating bits get in my nails, this would usually irritate me, but I use this body scrub while in the shower, so as long as you have a power shower it will wash out of your nails right away.
The body scrub in a 200ml tub, lasted me around two and half weeks. The scrub itself is a beige-brown colour, thick-ish consistency, and has dark brown tiny exfoliating bits in it. The smell is more sweet than sour, but it doesn't have a strong hit you in the face fragrance. The strongest smell comes from the shea butter, and I could smell that the moment I opened the tub without realising that it does actually contain shea butter. I don't know what Brazil nuts smell like, but I can definitely smell some kind of nut in the scrub, it seems almost almond-like, and this is the fragrance that I did not particularly like as I am not a huge fan of nuts. However the smell is not overwhelming, so it did not cause a huge problem.
I use it much like I would use a shower gel, take some scrub, scrub it on my body either with hand or shower scrub thingy. As I was applying this I could feel my body was very soft, and it also felt quite cleansing probably because of the exfoliating bits. The scrub did not irritate my skin or make it itch. When I stepped out of the shower and whilst I was drying, my skin felt a lot less tight than it usually does, also as I suffer from dry skin, my skin tends to start to cracking once I have completely dried off, but this did not happen when I used this body scrub, so I was quite impressed by that. However it did not completely eliminate my need for moisturiser, and my skin still felt a little bit tight.
Once I applied moisturiser my skin felt soft and didn't crack or dry up during the day, usually I have to apply moisturiser more than once, but after using the body scrub, I didn't have to use moisturiser more than once a day. So again, impressive results from this Brazil nut body scrub.
