Cussons Imperial Leather Japanese Spa Shower Cream
by Holland1
This shower gel by Imperial Leather has always been one of my favourite fragrances, and although it seems more difficult to get hold of these days, it can usually be found in discount stores such as Home Bargains, B&M etc, for around the £1 mark, but at the full RRP it costs £1.89. It used to be labelled "Limited Edition" ... for about two years, but they seem to have scrapped that after it being around for a good few years, it's clearly here to stay now!
The fragrance of this shower gel is absolutely stunning, and I have to say with this one it's very much not gender-neutral. This is a girly smelling gel which is floral, and yet exotic at the same time. It contains green tea, rice milk and jasmine, although I personally can't detect any one of those fragrances. They just seem to combine to give the most wonderfully fresh, uplifting floral fragrance which isn't overly sweet.
Considering this is described as a shower gel, it is actually very creamy in consistency. It's a creamy yellow colour, and feels quite luxurious for the price. The only issue I have sometimes is that it can come out of the bottle in clumps, which sometimes plop to the floor....and you all know how much I hate waste, grrr! Speaking of bottles, this one is transparent so you can see how much is left, and it has the usual Imperial Leather curved shape which makes it comfortable to hold in the shower.
The shower gel gives a decent lather, which I guess is down to the creamy consistency. It feels lovely and moisturising on the skin, and fills the bathroom with the lovely fragrant oriental fragrance. I am always disappointed that it doesn't last on my skin for longer, but given that I usually pick mine up on offer for £1, I think this would be too much to expect. The moisturising effects last a little longer, as I have discovered on the odd occasion I haven't had time to moisturise after showering.
This gel is dermatologically tested, and is very nourishing, so is suitable for sensitive and dry skins, although anyone could use it really. It's really pleasant to use, especially in the morning as an early morning pick-me-up, and the only reason I'm deducting a star is because the fragrance doesn't last longer.

Imperial Leather Ocean Fresh Shower Gel
by Holland1
Like most people, I like to rotate which shower gel I use, depending on my mood and what is on offer when I do my weekly shop. Last time I went shopping I picked up this Ocean Fresh shower gel from Imperial Leather, being drawn to it as it was on offer for £1. It also appealed because it smelt really pleasant, and was fairly gender ... neutral meaning I could leave it in the en-suite and both myself and my husband could use it. Result!
The bottle is the usual flip top plastic lid, with the bottle itself being transparent so you can see the vibrant blue shower gel inside. I like the Imperial Leather bottles as they seem to fit in my hand nicely in the shower, so they don't feel awkward or liable to being dropped. The shower gel also seems to be dispensed at a sensible rate, so there's very little waste.
The best thing about this gel is without doubt the fragrance. I find it really invigorating first thing in the morning, as it's so fresh and it reminds me of summer. I don't use any kind of shower puff in the shower, so I find it takes a bit of effort to get my shower gels to lather properly, and although this one doesn't feel particularly creamy or luxurious, it lathers up enough to make me think it's doing a good job of cleaning me.
I've not noticed my skin being any drier than usual after using this shower gel, so I'm happy that it's not stripping my skin of moisture or anything. The only disappointing thing is that the smell soon disappears, which is a shame as it's such an uplifting and pleasant smell. My skin always feels refreshed after using it though, and I find it's a good one to use at any time of day, although it's ideal for mornings as it's so invigorating and refreshing.
I will definitely buy this one again if I see it on offer. I rarely pay more than £1 for shower gel, because we get through so much in our house, so I wouldn't pay the full RRP of £1.90, but this is more because I'm tight than a reflection of the quality of the product.
