Original Source Orange & Cinnamon Shower Gel
by CosmicLove
My fiancé actually picked this up a couple of weeks ago and I use it whenever I have a shower, which isn't that often as I prefer baths. I think he got it on offer but the retail price is £2.30 for a 250ml bottle, which is pretty good value in my opinion and the bottle is still over half full after about 2 weeks.
This shower ... gel is part of Original Source's winter seasonal edition range and it has a cinnamon & orange scent. It comes in a plastic bottle which is a triangle kind of shape and it has a flip top lid. The plastic is pretty solid so it's not that easy to squeeze, but I don't find this much of a problem because the product comes out when the bottle is tipped upside down and squeezed slightly.
The bottle is transparent so the bright orange gel can be easily seen which is very eye catching. The shower gel has got a very thick texture which isn't runny or anything, which I like as it means that non of it drips off of my shower puff/skin while I am using it so non gets wasted. The shower gel lathers up very easily and provides lots of foamy bubbles and it washes off easily, leaving no residue behind. It leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh, however my skin never feels any softer, smoother or hydrated.
The smell of this shower gel is what lets it down. My fiancé likes the smell, but I really don't like it at all because it is way too strong. I was expecting it to be a nice balance between orange and cinnamon, but all I am able to smell is the cinnamon with a tiny hint of artificially sweet smelling orange. The smell is not at all natural and it lingers on my skin for a good half hour after I have used it, so I always feel the need to use a heavily scented body butter to mask the smell of cinnamon.
All in all this is an average shower gel. It leaves my skin feeling clean and it has a nice thick texture but because I don't like the smell and because it doesn't leave my skin feeling any softer or anything I am not that keen on it.

Original Source Vanilla & Raspberry Shower Gel
by Sassy29
~*~*~*~Original Vanilla and Raspberry shower gel~*~*~*~
I decided to buy this shower gel as I heard lots of good things about it, especially the smell. So whilst out doing my weekly shop I cam across Original Vanilla and Raspberry shower gel. There were a few different smelling shower gels in the this range to choose from, but ... as soon as I opened the cap on this one I knew it was the one. It cost me £1.10 for a 250ml bottle as it was on a half price offer, usual RRP £2.20, which I thought was good value for money.
The shower gel comes in a plastic, transparent, squeezable bottle. This is useful as you can see how much product is left, so you know when to stock up again. The lid is a black, flat, flip top lid, which is the end on which the bottle sits on. I like the fact that the product is kept upside down (meaning the gel sits above the lid), because it is easier to get the lasts bits out the bottle. On the front of the bottle is writing which say's, '82 British sunrises help make one moisturising bottle of this shower cream', it also states that it is 'packed with natural fragrance'. On the back of the bottle is the ingredients and application advice.
Upon opening this shower gel the first thing that hit me was the lovely, sweet, smelling fragrance of raspberries. I think that the smell of this shower gel is one of the best ones I have ever used. I think the smell is great as it is made up of real fruit instead of artificial, chemical perfumes. Once this shower gel was applied to my skin it lathered up really well and felt like it was cleaning and cleansing. The smell lasted quite a long time, I do receive a number of compliments on my fruity fragrance after I have used this product.
I have psoriasis and this did not irritate my skin at all. The consistency of the shower gel it quite thick and only a small amount is require to produce a nice foam. Once I washed of the gel it left my skin feeling smooth and smelling fruity. I would probably say that the shower gel is not incredibly moisturising or hydrating, but I also tend to use a body butter after a wash so this doesn't really bother me.
This product is probably aimed at women, as the liquid is pink and the smell of the product, however my partner uses it on a regular basis and loves the smell of it. The shower gel lasts quite a long time, me and my partner have been using it everyday for a month and there is still over a quarter left. I think this is excellent value for money considering it only cost me £1.10.
Overall I really like the shower gel. It is now one of my favourites and at £1.10 I will definitely be buying more. The smell is probably the winning factor with the product, as it is divine. The only thing I would suggest is if you are looking for a shower gel which moisturises dry skin then may be this is not the one for you. I don't mind this because, as mentioned above, I use a moisturiser/body butter after a bath/shower. Overall I am going to give this shower gel 4 out of 5 Dooyoo stars.
