Primark Grapefruit Bath & Shower Gel
by missHelen
Much like the previous reviewer, I too spotted this and a few others at 50p in Primark Reading. Having tried 3 different 'flavours', this one has to be my favourite. It's actually better than its body shop equivalent and is considerably cheaper!
Although not a smooth flow from the bottle - more of a gloop infact, it lathers up ... quickly and releases it's smell instantly. Although you do need to use quite a bit of it to get this effect and so I have been using around 1.5 bottles in 14 days, which is a lot of shower gel, if I was paying more than 50p for it I would not be impresed.
Overall a brilliant product for £1.50 or 50p, especially given it's competitor over at the body shop is £9. Although quite gloopy and therefore hard to rub onto the body and so only deserving of 4 stars. Read the complete review |

Primark Grapefruit Body Scrub
by xxfoxyredxx
I love shopping in Primark and rather often they have offers on their toiletries. Alot of them only cost £1.00-£1.50 to begin with but more often than not they are normally reduced to 50p an item and I always fling some bargains in my usually overflowing basket!
I've tried loads of their offerings out and have been rather ... pleasantly surprised at not only the value for money I'm offered but feel they're usually of very high quality as well.
I had used the grapefruit bath and shower gel (Please read review on here if interested) and liked it so next time I was Primark I decided to try out the scrub and picked another gel up to use in conjunction with it.
I don't know about you but I am rather prone to dry, flaky skin and I do go for a spa rather often to help my skin however I do feel that dead skin cells do need buffing off if possible but I am aware I need a gentle exfoliating product as I possess delicate and sensitive skin prone to going angry red or breaking out in spots or scratches if it doesn't like something I use on it! I was a little concerned about the purchase of this but felt for a mere 50p I owed it to myself to try it out and usually this does retail at £1.50 a tube after-all lol.
The Packaging:
Bright yellow, plastic tube with a matching flip top lid to the bottom of it concealing a small hole and on the front I'm told it is Grapefruit 'Glorious, zingy & Zesty' Body Scrub. On the back of the tube I'm told a bit about the product, directions for use are given, ingredients and size is listed which 150ml and contact details for Primark are given. It's not a bad looking tube, easy to handle and it's informative enough too!
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Tube:
Packed full of zest, this glorious zingy grapefruit body scrub will blast away dry skin leaving you feeling soft, smooth and amazingly refreshed.
Using It:
Well this is not a shower or bath gel meaning this isn't to be used instead of those things so me, well I wash first so that I'm clean and then I set about using it afterwards. It's very, very simple to use and all I do is splodge a little of the cream coloured yogurty looking liquid with some small grains of brown seeds in it into my hands and then I gently massage it over my skin in circular motions.
Smell wise.... well it smells very naturally of grapefruits, fresh and not faked but not too full on fragrance wise either. The creamy consistency of this makes it go a little soapy looking on the skin if you damp/wet already (which you should be) and it feels slightly greasy thus giving a hydrated feel as you go.
The seeds in this are very gentle and in an unscratchy way buff the skin up rather well indeed. I find that no matter how much I use of this product or how hard I scrub myself with it it's impossible to hurt myself but I can feel it gently buffing my skin and therefore it does really rejuvenate and refresh me and my senses.
The consistency of this is great as a little of this goes a very long way and what's more when you've finished you simply rinse it off with it does with incredible ease and no fuss at all.
Results:
I really do rate this one for people with sensitive skins in particular. It leaves skin gently smelling fresh for a really good length of time and it leaves skin feeling revived and cleaner after using it. I think it gently works and it's a great one to use on a daily basis due to it being such a gentle formulation.
My skin feels really hydrated (in an ungreasy or heavy way) and unclogged and when I pick up my tube after using it is I can see I've used hardly used any product at all to get great results making this a really economical buy so thanks again Primark once again!

Primark Grapefruit Bath & Shower Gel
by xxfoxyredxx
When it comes to shower and bath products I really do work my way through them! I'm a hygiene-a-holic and love trying out new products! This usually retails at £1.50 a bottle but it attracted my attention when I spotted it reduced to 50p a bottle along with many other smelly offerings from Primark whilst out on a recent shopping trip! ...
I'm not a fruity aroma type of fan really when it comes to shower gels but I bought this to kick start my day being grapefruit and I did treat myself to the grapefruit body scrub too for a touch of top to tail freshness with mornings in mind like I just said lol.
The Packaging:
250ml clear plastic bottle with a bright yellow flip top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole. Around the middle of the bottle it has a yellow paper label on it and on the front the price is stated and I'm told it is Grapefruit 'Glorious zingy & zesty bath & shower gel'. Other information on the back of the bottle includes being told a bit about the product, ingredients and the size is stated and contact details for Primark are listed as well as some information given in foreign languages. It's not a bad looking bottle but there is nothing sophisticated about it really but it's informative enough to be fair to it.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:
It's good to be alive! Brighten your day with these super zesty bubbles. Great for a 'wake up' shower or long reviving bath.
Either apply to moist skin or sponge for a refreshing, zesty, cleansing shower, or put into running water for a glorious bubble bath.
Me Using It:
Well the gel is light yellow in colour and transparent and very smooth and not too runny but it isn't a stiff gel either. You don't need loads of this to shower with at all and it lathers up very quickly into large white, rich bubbles that smell heavily and richly of zesty grapefruits. It smells incredibly of grapefruit with a hint of natural sweetness to it but it is an authentic smell!
I really like it, it refreshes me, awakens my senses and above all it is great to cleanse my skin and to use as to shave my bits and bobs with etc as it's go so creamy.
It's comfortable to use, leaves my skin feeling smooth and leaves me feeling incredibly fresh for a considerable time after using it and it leaves my skin gently fragranced for a good couple of hours after using it too.
I actually really like this and even if purchasing it for £1.50 a bottle it really is a very economical product.
It hasn't upset my skin in any way shape or form and basically it's a nice every day sort of shower gel. Course we are told on the bottle we can use it as a bath foam too and once again I have used it as this and put in a small splodge under running water and once again it hasn't let me down at all and once again softened my water a little, gave a wonderful aroma and most of all has given me rich bubbles that last the duration of my hour long plus baths!
A nice product to throw in your overflowing basket when shopping in Primark! Read the complete review |
