Palmolive Naturals Milk and Honey
by askmeanything
Back in Egypt:
Cleopatra bathed in milk way back in Egypt's ancient days. Was she off her rocker? No, because she realised that milk has cleansing and conditioning properties for smooth skin. Jump forward to the twenty first century and milk is now used by the masses. It can be given to us through a regular pint of milk or by ... Palmolive Naturals range. Only thing is that this is just one serving of milk essence (not sure what that really means) in a small bottle of 250ml (about fifty washes), 500ml (equates to about one hundred uses), or the larger 750ml.
Today:
Palmolive say they use one hundred percent natural ingredients. Their products are dermatologically tested. Each product, in this particular range, contains pure milk plus one other main ingredient. They are all PH balanced, with hydrating properties and are kind to skin. Now you can feel like a queen. There is not even a trace of soap in this product range. The choices available that I know of and have tried are:
Milk and Honey (probably a favourite for scent, texture and sexy name)
Milk and Olive
Coconut Milk
Olive and Aloe Vera Milk
Almond Milk
Cherry Blossom with Milk
Shea Butter with Milk
Milk Black Orchid (My least favourite scent)
I think they are all similar. The whole range gives me smooth skin but the Milk and Honey is my preferred scent. I am always trying new products but do like to return to this one. This one, you'll find, by the picture of honeycomb and milk. They also come as bath and hand washes.
All the packaging range is designed with colours and pictures to reinforce the naturalness of the product. The bottles have a flip-top lid, and turned upside down for use. Some come with a pump. The one error in design is that it can't be stood on the top, which is not flat, and there is nothing supplied that enables me to hang the bottle from a hook.
I find them all to be quite flora in scent, though this one has the distinct sweetness of honey. I can't really claim to smell the milk which I can only think of as a positive thing! They are powerful enough to last most of the day without being over-intoxicating. I find them to be of a feminine perfume which fills the house for a little while after use. There it has a double function as a house odouriser and shower wash!
Result:
Well, it doesn't upset my sensitive skin. After lathering up, needs quite a bit to do so, it leaves me with smooth and softly moisturised skin. My skin is never dried out by this product. I have tried every option in the range and they all produce good results. The moisturisers which are included within the product give me lasting softness and I certainly feel refreshed and clean by this.
The ultimate accolade for this product is when someone said to me, about three hours after my shower, 'Hmm, you smell good!'
The downsides are the; lack of flat top on the bottle, and also it is a little watery when it comes out, and needs a bit more than some other products before it truly turns into a lather. However, when I use a sponge or loather it lathers up much better than with my hands. The price for a family size is around £3.60. In the middle the 500mls costs less than two pounds. At the other end of the scale is the cheap, probably the best price around, one pound for a 250ml bottle. I even paid about 97p on special offer deals.
I am very satisfied that no harmful chemicals have been used in the making of this product range. I will use this range again and I can recommend. So pop off to your local chemist, Poundland, or supermarket, and give Palmolive Naturals a chance. Don't you want to feel like a Queen for commoner prices? Read the complete review |

Original Source Vanilla & Raspberry Shower Gel
by KaraJane
I first used this shower gel when showering at my sisters house - I immediately went to buy some for myself afterwards! The texture is thick and luxurious, and a little bit lathers up and goes a long way so the bottle lasts for a while.
But even better than this is the scent! Not too sweet, but still lovely and girly, the vanilla ... and raspberry really compliment each other. I've noticed that my skin smells of the shower gel for a while afterwards which for me is a bonus!
I tend to shower in the evening so this is perfect as its a calming scent, not sure if i'd like to use it in the morning but maybe that's just me!
I was thrilled when I found the product on offer in ASDA for £1, much better quality than other products at this price. I have seen this offer on two different occasions, I'm guessing it's a frequent thing. Even if it was full price I would probably still buy it! Read the complete review |

Dove Go Fresh Burst Body Wash
by upsy
I have always been a fan of Dove products, particularly their body washes. I've tried many of their different types of body wash and this Go Fresh variety with a nectarine and white ginger scent is one of my favourites. I purchased my latest one, which is a huge 500ml bottle, from Tesco when it was on offer for £2, which I think is an ... absolute bargain considering it lasts for months on end. It's current full price at Tesco is £3.99 and it can also be bought in a smaller 250ml bottle, which currently costs £2.40 at Boots.
The product comes in a white teardrop-shaped bottle, with an orange stripe on the lid. The product claims to be a 'nourishing body wash' containing 'nutrium moisture'. The product may well nourish your skin but if you suffer from dry skin anywhere, I would advise that you will also need to apply a moisturiser after bathing, as this alone won't moisturise dry skin enough. Having said that, I think it does a good job of moisturising your skin as far as a body wash goes, as my skin doesn't feel dry or tight after using the product, it's only if I've shaved my legs that I feel the need to apply moisturiser after showering when using this body wash.
The body wash is a light orange colour and, in my opinion, smells absolutely gorgeous. You can certainly smell the nectarine, and it is a slightly sweet aroma, but not sickly sweet, and you can smell it whilst showering but at the same time it isn't a smell that is too heavy. I think it's particularly a great body wash for someone who bathes or showers in the morning, as I often still feel half asleep when having a shower, and the smell of this product does a great job of helping me to wake up. Similarly to all of the other Dove body washes I've used, this one is also creamy, which makes it feel rather luxurious to use, and has a nice thickness to it so that it doesn't run everywhere. I find that it lathers up fairly easily and therefore I don't have to use too much of it at a time. I have found that the best way to apply it is using a shower puff, and this way you only need an even smaller amount of the product and it will lather up very easily. A 500ml bottle of this body wash being used once every day lasts me for months.
I would certainly recommend the nectarine and white ginger scented body wash for it's creaminess, gorgeous aroma and value for money, and I will be certainly buying it again. Read the complete review |
