Body Shop Vineyard Peach Shower Gel
by sarahrichmond5
For Christmas this year I was bought some body shop items as my family know I love them. I normally always get the Satsuma products as they are my favorite but someone bought me this shower gel for a change.
The packaging of this product is the same as the other shower gels I have previously had from the body shop. It ... comes in a plastic bottle with a lid that flips open; it is very easy to open even if your hands are all soapy!.
The shower gel itself is a sort of orangey color you can see this through the plastic of the bottle.
When you step into the shower and open up the shower gel the smell will not disappoint. It smells really nice and fruity, just like the peaches on the picture on the package.
It actually smells almost good enough to eat. You only need a small amount because it lathers up nicely and covers large parts of your body with the smallest blob.
I suffer with dry skin but found that this product does not seem to dry my skin out or irritate the areas of dry skin that I have.
The smell that oozes out as you shower leaves you feeling lovely and refreshed, it is a kind of summery scent, you certainly feel ready to face the day after this. I feel that after use the skin feels illuminated and bright.
I don't love this quite as much as the Satsuma one which is my favorite but it's definitely a close second! Read the complete review |

The Body Shop Cranberry Shower Gel
by hlb2009
I was bought this Cranberry Shower Gel from The Body Shop as a Christmas present and although it does have it's positive points I sadly won't be buying it again as I think that it is far too sweet for me so I will be sticking to other scents and brands from now on.
When I unwrapped this I was very impressed with the packaging. ... I know the bottle itself is nothing special- just a plastic bottle and a plastic lid but the actual colours really stood out. The bottle is see through and the gel inside is a very, very rich dark red almost purple. The label is cranberry red and the writing and cap is metallic gold so it really looks rich and luxurious so does make a lovely looking gift that's for sure!
The bottle opens by snapping up the lid which then reveals a small pouring hole to squeeze/pour the contents out of. I find that sometimes the lid is quite stiff especially if you have wet hands (which let's face it you're very likely too if you're in the shower!) and even harder if your hands are already slightly soapy. It is easy to stick back down though with just a quick press of the hand or finger. It's best that you rinse the bottle after use as if the lid still has some soapy suds on it then it will be difficult and slippery to open next time you use it. You can alternatively unscrew the entire cap so it reveals the whole neck of the bottle which means you'd get more out but I think you still end up with the same slippery problem really.
The gel is quite watery, not so watery that it will run straight off your hands before you've had chance to lather it on but watery enough so that it will come out of the hole in the bottle quite easily which is good. I found that once this was beginning to run out I did need to leave the bottle delicately positioned so that it was upside down to help the gel get to the neck of the bottle but usually actually getting the gel out was not a problem.
You do not need to use very much of this, as I have found with most Body Shop products a little bit does seem to go a long way which is always a positive! It lathers up well, you only need a slight bit of contact with water and you can soon create lots of lather making it easy to wash and it has the usual texture of shower gels of being slightly soapy and slippery without being sticky or leaving a residue once you rinse it off.
The smell of this isn't over powering but it is extremely sweet so not particularly a smell which I am too fond of. It is of cranberries- as you would expect- but they smell like very sweet ones and I don't really find that it is a smell which I want to walk around smelling like or particularly wanting to bath/shower in. Over time my sense of smell and preference has changed though, when I was younger I liked fruity smells in soaps and shower gels but now I prefer fresh ones so perhaps there would have been a time that I liked this but to me it's just too sweet.
It doesn't stay around all day though, the smell, you're not left feeling as though you washed in perfume so that is good! I did find that it made me feel nice and clean after showering so it did do it's principle job of cleaning me so that is what is important.
I know you can buy a variety of other flavours of shower gel from the Body Shop and I prefer the smells of some of them as they are less sweet so I prefer to use those than this. If you like sweet smells particularly cranberry then you will really like this that's for sure it's just not for me! It does wash well and is easy enough to use and like I say it looks really effective as the colours are so strikingly rich.
Unsure as to whether I'd actually recommend this. Read the complete review |

The Body Shop Exfoliating Gloves
by xxfoxyredxx
I have to admit that when it comes to exfoliating my skin I am a bit lazy. I do buy scrubs and use them occasionally but maybe don't use them as often as I should to be honest.
I do like nice smooth and soft skin though and see and understand the benefit of regular exfoliating and removing dead skin cells so when I spotted ... these exfoliating gloves in my local The Body Shop I decided to treat myself to a pair of these in a dark pink colour though these available in colours Aqua, Coral Pink, Cream, Lilac, Orange and White....so pairs to match any bathroom really there are I guess and of course men or women could use these!
The Exfoliating Gloves:
When I first spotted these gloves instore they looked really tiny but a quick test of them instore when nobody was watching me proved that these are very elasticated and would fit anybody's hands! They have a loop to the top of each glove should you want to hang them up to dry and so on.
So what you get is basically gloves with fingers and thumbs within them and the texture of the glove is raised and slightly rough and the cuffs of them are elasticated and they snuggly fit the shape of my wrist and hand very well indeed.
They are deigned to be used in the bath or shower along with soap or shower gels and the likes and I use mine with a blob of shower gel/cream and what happens is that with the help of the glove the product lathers up better for me than when I'm not using the gloves so my products actually last longer!
In use I get a fair bit of exfoliation too. Although when dry the gloves feel rather rough, when in use that softens slightly with product and water though I can still feel the glove exfoliating my skin really very well indeed. I use these every other day though I could use these as often as I wanted as they aren't too brash or abrasive and I wash them in the washer machine once a week or so and that hasn't impaired the quality of them at all and neither has the colour faded on mine which is great.
They are pricey I think at £4.00 a pair but they do leave my skin feeling smoother and softer and so I really do like them and think that they help to really cleanse my skin a bit more than just my usual sponge/scrunchie and so to me they are very worth the price indeed and get the thumbs up from me!
