I tried A 'kin Aromatherapy Jasmine Body Wash for the first time last year and was delighted to find a body wash that is not only natural but smells wonderful. With very sensitive skin it can be difficult to find a shower or bath wash that is extremely gentle but not unperfumed.
A'kin products are free from sulphates, ethoxylates, parabens, petrochemical cleansers, silicones etc. They are also made without animal ingredients or animal testing. I immediately liked the deep green slim bottle with attractive label. It is 225ml in size with a black flip up lid and squirt nozzle. The body wash is clear and reasonably thick but not gloopy or sticky.
I found it to be very gentle on my sensitive skin yet it lathered up and cleansed well. The Jasmine scent is light floral, warm and sensual. Jasmine grows in my garden so in comparison I really think this has a very realistic aroma. It contains jasmine absolute rather than an artificial fragrance. Jasmine oil or absolute is often used in aromatherapy to help lift feelings of anxiety and depression. It is also reputed to benefit those with irritated or dry skin conditions as well as ease muscular aches and pains.
In the A 'kin Aromatherapy Body Wash range there is a choice of Orange Blossom, Lavender, Jasmine and Sandalwood . I have also used Orange Blossom which has a gently refreshing citrus / floral scent. I like the slightly old fashioned style of the bottles and being slim they are easy to hold and use in the shower.
I consider it an expensive shower gel so I don't use it every day, it's great for a luxurious bath or shower every so often. I truly find it uplifting and calming, so the aromatherapy must work for me. Really good to have a product that is so natural, kind to skin and smells of real Jasmine flowers.
Recommended especially for those with very sensitive skin.
Thanks for reading my first ever review!

A'kin products are about as pure as they come, and this body wash is no exception. Vegan, and not tested on animals, A'kin's products are made in Australia, and are particularly suitable for those with sensitive skin, such as babies and the elderly. A'kin's packaging is fairly no-nonsense and contains a lot of detail about the ingredients. The push-down cap is easy to use but there is no hook to hang the bottle up in the shower.
A real plus-point for this body wash is that it is sulphate and paraben free, so essentially, it cleanses without containing soap. It is non-drying so there is little need to moisturise your skin once out of the shower (ideal if your bathroom is chilly like mine). The bottle, although plastic, can be recycled.
A little goes a long way, especially if you use a shower puff, but this is a pricey, if effective shower treat. For me, the jasmine essential oil it contains is over-powering, but it would be heaven if that's your favourite fragrance.
Not only can the body wash be used in the shower, it works as a bubble bath, as hand-soap, or even for washing delicates. Mind you, at this price, I wouldn't even waste it on my Very Best Special Occasion pants.
