“ Brand: Adidas / Type: Body Wash / Subcategory: Shower Gel / Texture: Cream / Suitable for: Body / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Energises „
Over the last few years I have owned several shower gels from Adidas and behind Lynx they are my most used shower gels from one brand. I like their value for money and their overall quality and wide availability. There are several shower gels in the Adidas range that I have bought several times. The Adidas shower gels are made by Coty who have a long history with well known fragrances. Deep Energy is one of my favourite shower gels from Adidas and the Orange bottle looks the part on the shelf and certainly stands out from the shelf in the store and it of course is widely available as most stores stock a decent Adidas range like the supermarkets and stores like Boots and Superdrug.
Adidas Deep Energy Shower Gel contains ginseng and was developed with athletes to be an energising shower gel for men. It has a nice scent from the off which has fruity tones. The shower gel lathers really well and this allows you to get a decent amount of use out of the bottle. I have bought and used several bottle of this shower gel over the years. It feels good on the skin and gives you a very fresh, clean feel. The scent is lovely and is a mix of fruity notes and a slightly subtle woody feel which combines well to give a good all round scent. The Ginseng works really well and gives you a lift after a gym session or maybe just waking your sense up in the morning with a good shower.
This is a very good shower gel all round, It cleanses, has a good scent and is fairly cheap. This shower gel can be found for around £2 and sometimes less with some great deals on offer. It is a great price and the shower gel is one of the best I have used around that price. It's a lovely scent which lasts pretty well and goes well with other Adidas products like their deodorants as you would expect. It's own deodorant combines really well with this one as you might expect it to. I would recommend this for the younger male and to those men who use the gym a lot or wake up early in the morning and might need a pick me up with their morning shower. All in all it's a very solid product.
I bought this in Asda for £1 and as always thought I'd give it a try, it's from Adidas the world leading sports product designer and to be fair to them, after a really shaky start, their fragrance range of products has stepped up considerably in the last year to a much better standard. For some reason the wording 'Deep Energy' made me think of Alan Partridge and his deep bath, rather than give me the motivation to exercise like a supreme athlete.
Apparently the products have been tested on athletes as this shower gel is suggested to give you energy as you use it, I think this is pure marketing, it will help you get clean and the smell might be appreciated but it won't aid your athletic performance in any way, unless you are entering the washing in a shower with an orange coloured shower gel made by adidas competition.
The shower gel looks ok, I still don't think they have developed enough strategy in this area, whilst the Adidas symbol is reassuring the simple orange plastic bottle with 'Deep Energy' wording looks a bit cut price and doesn't fit with their brand at all, I think they need to make the fragrance range much more like the sports wear, young, funky and relevant, but I guess this will come.
The orange shower gel has a woody odour, it is very manly and masculine and smells like you are washing in pine cones, it has a nice oriental kick too with some ginseng, which compliments the dryer smell perfectly, overall it is a very nice smell, it isn't prissy, but it doesn't make you smell like Tom Selleck in Magnum either, it's the right blend between metrosexual and seventies man with hairy chest and big tache!
Its good, I had a bad experience with an Orange Lynx shower gel which gave me a rash, so I was initially weary of this product but this was ill founded, it has a ph balanced formula which is kind to your skin and has also been dermo tested. The gel itself is orange and it is easy to lather without having any pieces in it, which is a bugbear of mine when washing as some gels have exfoliating elements which if unknown can be difficult to get off your skin.
You can buy it in Asda, I got it on offer but generally for around £1.29, it's also available in Tesco and all good supermarkets as well as Boots, Superdrug and Amazon, it can be bought as part of a deep energy set. Prices range a 250ml bottle is 99p on Fragrance Direct or £2.29 at Boots.
It was well worth the price, it smelt nice, its easy to use and doesn't cause any rashes or other abrasions, it is soft, nice for your skin, but I don't think a shower gel will help you run faster or swim harder. I think Adidas need to work harder at their branding and the look of the product, but the smell and feel were very good and had the right balance of masculinity and nice odour.
The wife picked up 1 of these for my on 1 of her dash round Savers day. She goes in there and comes out with about 3 carrier bags full of thing. They are full of Shower Gels, Shampoo's, Household things and so on. I suppose it's alright stocking up, but sometimes it's not as if we need all this stuff. Suppose when I look at receipt and find that the prices are ok then I guess it makes sense.
This is a 250ml bottle and cost £1.19. Alright for a brand named item.
The bottle is a bright orange colour with black on it and the Adidas branding on the front as well. It doesn't look a cheap product and I think the reason for the Orange colouring is for the Energy name, so since this looks bright and sunny then it symbolises Sunshine and Energy.
The Gel has a nice scent to it. It is a crisp fresh scent and I could almost say this would pass for a unisex gel, but there is a slighty hint of masculine scent to it. This smells a bit Citrus as well. I would say an Orange smell like Mandarin and it is a nice fresh smell for the day.
I wouldn't say this Energises me any more than normal, but the fresh clean smell is a nice one, and this makes a change from the heavier scents of Lynx which I normally use.
This cleans, freshens and although perhaps doesn't moisturise really since i'm not good at knowing the signs of that, it is a good all round Shower Gel and I would use this again especially at the current price of this in some places.
Adidas Deep energy
The last time i bought Adidas showergel I was pleasantly surprised so I decided to give the brand another go and bought the Adidas Deep Energy which contains 250 ml showergel. I have to say the bottle doesn't really stand out for me and even looks a little bit boring. The orange colour of the bottle is what it really makes it stand out but certainly not the shape. The most important thing is of course that I does what it needs to do. The bottle is easy to use and on the back you find all the information about the product itself so no complains there.
The scent of the Adidas Deep energy is really something that suits the colour of the bottle. It has something of a mandarin a really sweet but also fresh scent. It's really refreshing and gives you a clean and good feeling while using it. It's a strong smell when using it but I do notice that after the shower the scent doesn't stay long. The scent is quickly away but it does give me a clean feeling.
Of course with a showergel it's not only the scent that matters but it should also clean your body. Now I do found it difficult to say how much it actually cleans my body after having a shower but it does make me feel clean. I like to smell at least clean and that's the feeling it's giving me after a shower.
Now I do like Adidas but I have to compare them with their competition Lynx. Lynx is a brand which I really enjoy their showergel. They have a good selection but also when I compare Lynx with Adidas I think Lynx is more out there. Their bottles look better and their showergel got a more pleasant and stronger scent. Does the Lynx makes me more cleaner then the Adidas? I don't really think so but the feeling you have after you had a shower is pretty important.
If I had to choose I would rather go for the Lynx showergel then for the Adidas but the Adidas Deep Energy is certainly not a bad product and I will buy it again when it's on sale!
Adidas Deep Energy Body Wash is now easily my favourite body wash available, I recently found it on sale for £1.99 so I decided to take the plunge and buy a few. I was at first doubtful because being a sports brand I wrongly assumed that it won't be as good as the more expensive body washes available but essentially they all do the same thing.
It smells like citrus orange so waking up in the morning to such a scent is always a delight, I use and not only does it cleanse the skin but it also softens and moisturises it leaving it very soft and tender. I've also heard that it stimulates your muscles but I've yet to experience that, chances are it's just the standard marketing hype you get with such product...
Either way though I can't really complain about this product, it smells great and cleans the skin. The added benefit is that it softens the skin but I wouldn't buy it for that alone because I have other products that leave my skin feeling a lot smoother (not saying the product is good though). Grab yourself a bottle or two and you will be pleasantly surprised.
When it comes to shower gels and stuff like that I get through loads of the stuff. I usually have a couple of showers a day through going to the gym etc and because of this fact I always seem to run out of shower gel, and that's usually when I'm standing under the shower dripping wet!
Now me, well I like feminine aromas but when you run out, well you have to sink that pride and use whatever's there or not bother and if it's a late night shower as I sleep alone and can't annoy anybody I will, if need be use a shower gel designed for men.... after-all it's usually only a different fragrance anyway!
250ml bright orange oblongy bottle with a slanted black plastic flip-top lid design to the top of it. On the front in black and writing I'm told it is Adidas (Adidas Emblem is on there too) 'Deep Energy' Energising 'With Ginseng' Shower Gel and I'm told it is developed with Athletes and the size is stated (as I've listed already). On the back of the bottle other information includes a bit about the product and told that over and over again (I assume) in different languages, ingredients are listed and contact details for Coty (the manufacturer of the product) are given. It's a masculine looking bottle but I don't like the way you can't see through it to see how much you have left etc however I do like that down each side of the bottle the plastic is raised and slightly bubbled to aid ease of use in the shower etc.
A Bit About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:
Developed for athletes
Unique energising fragrance
Enriched with Ginseng
pH respect/Dermo tested formula
Well the gel when you dispense it is just that, an orange transparent and smooth glossy gel. It's a great consistency at it squeezes out the tube with ease but it isn't runny or anything like that.
The smell of this is rather butch (this does belong to my Step-Dad by the way!). It's one for the boys for sure! It has a deep aftershave type of aroma to it with a hint of what smells like oranges and there is almost certainly something in there a tad zesty and with a hint of sweetness. It's a really lovely smell for sure.
Using it of course is easy! All you need is a small blob wafted over a wet/damp body and it lathers up richly into big white, thick moisturising bubbles! I was very impressed with it's performance indeed. Ok the smell of this doesn't appeal to me (unless a hunk is sporting it) but as for it's cleansing capabilities which was what I was more interested in anyway I was suitably impressed. It did rather invigorate me as well and I did feel it was kind to my skin. I did need to shave my legs and this was all over me anyway, so away I went and I did a great job.
When I dabbed myself dry the fragrance was still there delicately on my skin but it wasn't as in your face as when I had used it and it faintly fragranced me nicely. My skin felt soft and clean and although I'm a girl I'd use this again if need be!
Not designed with us girlie's in mind we should really keep our hands off their gear but if need be you can use this as there is no real reason not to. It's an economical buy, cleanses well and softens skin and at first I did thnk after using this I was going to smell a bit butch (not that it mattered I was going to bed alone lol) but I didn't. I could smell it a bit but if I'd of needed to get dressed and go out in an emergency people wouldn't have known I'd been using men's products! lol. It's a nice shower gel and does a nice job!
