“ Brand: Alberto / Type: Wash / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Soothes, „
I got this shower gel off my little sister for a Xmas present, I KNOW she got it in Poundland and am not bothered about that but just to let you know where you can buy it and how cheap it is! lol
It comes in a tube like a massive tube of toothpaste and is a nice pale purpley pink colour, it's deffo a feminine design and like the basic thick tube shape of it.
The shower gel is quite thin, it's not madly runny but from the look of it I was expecting it to be thicker. You get loads of bubbles off it though and you don't need to use that much to get yourself proper clean. I have always used it with a shower puff and it bubbles up nice and quick but I reckon you'd have a game turning it into much more than a thin lather if you was using just your hands to wash with.
It makes me feel majorly clean after using this shower gel and even though I've got some more expensive ones in the bathroom I still used this. It's deffo not the most exciting shower gel because even though it smells nice it hasn't got that much special about it, it's loads better than most of the shower gels you get in Poundland though and I'm still dead grateful to my sister for buying it me!!! lol
I don't think it leaves my skin feeling very moisturised and a couple of times I've used it my skin has felt a bit dry after, that's a shame but at the end of the day I'm not that surprised because the Alberto Balsam shampoos have the same effect on my hair!
The smell is nice, I can't smell the lemon in it but there's a strong flowery smell that makes it proper girly. I think the smell is just right but when my mum used it the other day she said she thought it was too strong and reminded her of when my dad sprays his Lynx and it feels like it's going to choke her.
Recommended... only £1.00 but smells gorgeous and leaves my skin feeling proper clean!!!
I have never been a fan of the hair conditioner by Alberto Balsam, even before I started dying my hair and straightening it daily, this brand of conditioner has always barely touched it leaving it as dry and unmanageable as before, so when I noticed my husband has thrown a couple of bottles of what I assumed to be the conditioner into my shopping trolley, I was surprised to say the least!
Upon questioning my husbands motives, he doesn't come shopping with me that often, so he doesn't have the freedom to buy as he see's fit!
He again floored me by telling me that the Alberto Balsam bottles that had just entered my trolley were in fact shower gels, again I didn't hold up much expectation for them!
The shower gel I will now review is - "Alberto Balsam soothing shower wash"
The gels come in a upside down tube, these I like as the product within continually drips into the flip lid, this means less wastage.
There is the briefest of information on the tube, this being brand name, product name, contents (250 ml) and the particular "flavour", this one being orchid and lemongrass and being stated as "soothing".
When squeezed from the tube I was very pleased to find the gel itself is luxuriously thick, I squeezed it, as I always do, onto my poof and started to agitate to create bubbles.
Again I was more than surprised when a foam appeared that was thick and abundant, much more foam than I was expecting from such a small amount of gel.
The smell again was a surprise, I was expecting a more floral offering but the prominent smell was lemongrass, this being a sweet, light and citrus's scent, this lingers deliciously on the skin for a good hour after showering, and lets be honest in this muggy weather we have been experiencing it's nice to smell and feel cleans for more than 10 minutes after stepping from the shower!
The blurb on the back of the tube states that this particular shower gel uses orchid extracts to soothe skin and lemongrass extracts to gently cleanse sensitive skin, although I cannot actually vouch for the effectiveness of these claims, my skin did indeed fell cleansed and not in any way irritated.
These were on offer when purchased, costing just £1.00 a tube, full price I they are around the £1.60 mark, though like so many other shower gel products in Asda, they are more than frequently on offer!
