I never thought I would write this, but I do like this shower gel.
At first, I was rather doubtful with this product, mainly because of its appearance and price. But I bought it anyway, because my husband was not fussy about what kind of shower gel we bought as long as there is always one ready in our bathroom. I chose this Sea Mineral Family Shower Gel because I found that it smells better than the other Aldi's Family Shower Gels
It was actually better than I thought.
When I sniffed it at the shop, it did not really convince me at all. It was faint, and very clinical, but it was different when I actually use it in the shower. I like the smell, it was fresh and clean, and not sickeningly sweet -- although I would think that it might be too "sporty" for some girls. It is very... I mean VERY similar to my husband's old Sea Mineral Imperial Leather's Shower Gel for Men. For the untrained eyes and nose, both product would smell and look the same. For example, my husband did not even notice the difference.
The gel is in good consistency, not too runny -- that it would not just seep through the sponge, but not to thick either -- that anyone would not need an extra effort to get it out of the bottle. It lathers really well, it does its job as a shower gel -- which is to clean you up, and also it did not dry my skin -- one thing that I really concern about.
I agree that its packaging is not this product's stronger point, but for that price I would not complain. With the price, and all the positive verdicts I have mentioned above, I believe that this product is a bargain. I would definitely repurchase this shower gel again.
I was in Aldi last week and needed a shower gel. I bought Aqua V Sea Minerals, I thought I had paid about 60p but I've just looked on their website and it's 42p- this is not a bad size either at 300ml. There isn't much choice in Aldi however I was attracted by the smell so would have bought it anyway. The bottle is see through with a flip top lid and pour control hole. The shower gel itself is turquoise and clear not creme. The label says that it's a family shower gel, has real extracts and is PH balanced for the skin and dermatologically tested. I like this shower gel it has a nice consistency, not thick it's more on the thin side and not blobby at all making it easy to pour. I don't need much for a full wash maybe a 50p sized blob. It lathers up well with a sponge and rinses off quick this also smells delicious- I can't put my finger on it but reminds me strangely of shandy the scent doesn't linger on the skin though which is a shame. I feel clean after I've used this, don't know about energised and revitalised as the label claims although it is refreshing..... I've not been irritated whilst using this nor does it dry my skin out but it doesn't moisture it either (but it doesn't say it will) just cleans it. I will be buying this again and like the sound of their Lavender version so will try that one too. 5 stars from me.
Living at home with my parents all my food and drink needs are purchased for me usually. However personal items I buy for myself, not because I can't use the one's in bathroom but me, well I prefer to buy more decent brands than my Mum opts for to be honest. An example of this is last week I bought a shower gel for £11.00. She bought this one for 69p lol. Vast difference. However tonight I went into the shower, got myself wet and realised I hadn't taken my own shower gel in with me (which I hide to stop others using it lol) and so I was left thinking shall I trapse back to me room or use whats here and I used what was there, which was this!
Clear plastic bootle which is 300ml in size and it has a slight curve to it's body for ease of handling and a turquoise flip top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole. On the back of the bottle there is a label and that label is coloured turquise on the inside of the bottle with a shell pattern on it for decoration. On the back of the bottle I'm told a little bit about the product, ingredients are listed, contact details for Aldi are given, size is stated (as I've listed already) and that is that! Nice enough simple bottle.
A BIt About The Product According To The Back Of The Bottle:
Experience the stimulating Abbott & Broome shower gel with a refreshing fragrance and real sea minerals.
Cleans your skin with a rich, creamy lather making you feel invigorated and energised.
PH balanced and dermatologicaly tested.
Well the liquid is a very light sort of turquoisy colour and rather thin and transparent. Smell wise well to me yes it smells as you would expect a sea fresh smell to be really. It's a little sweet but in my view this is a shower gel anyone can use, male or female. Yes it lathers up into big white rich bubbles on contact with wet/damp skin and I found that about the size of a 10p piece cleansed me and allowed me to shave my bits and bobs! It had a nice aroma to it and felt comfortable to use and rinsed off very easily leaving no residue behind itself.
Skin was left feeling fresh and clean and lightly fragranced however although my skin felt fresh for ages afterwards and smooth enough the smell vanished off my skin in less than an hour.
It's an economy shower gel and it's ok. I'm not wowed by it as it's nothing special but it does a job, does it well and does it very economically! Not bad at all!
Only available in Aldi stores.
