“ Brand: Asda / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types „
I love lime fragrances, and I am instantly drawn to anything lime scented. When I needed a new shower gel, I decided to try this ASDA lime and kiwi one, as it sounded really lovely and the price was quite reasonable for the size of the bottle.
The shower gel comes in a clear bottle through which you can see the lime green gel. There is a flip top lid which opens to reveal a small hole through which the gel is dispensed. Despite the shape being different, there is something about the packaging that reminds me of the Original Source Lime shower gel, which is one I love and I was hoping that this one would be just as good.
The shower gel is described as being 'invigorating' which I guess you would probably expect from something lime scented and it has added moisturisers. I was quite pleased to read this, as having dry skin, I often find that cheaper brands of shower gel can often dry my skin out and make it feel tight and uncomfortable.
I found the gel to be a little runnier than I was really expecting. I wouldn't say it is watery as such, but I did find that it would run off my hands quickly, so I had to be fast so as not to waste any!
The thing I had been most looking forward to with this product was the scent. Unfortunately I found it quite disappointing. Whilst I could smell the lime it was nowhere near as strong as I personally like, and there was an unmistakeable mild chemical tone to the scent. And as for the kiwi? Well I could not really smell that at all. The scent was by no means horrible or unpleasant, it just wasn't anywhere near as strong or invigorating as I had been expecting.
In terms of lather, I found that I needed to use quite a lot of the gel to produce a good lather, which meant that despite the low initial outlay, it's not the most cost effective product. Also, I usually use shower gel to shave my legs rather than buying a separate shaving foam, but the lather from this just isn't thick enough to do so.
After using this, although it gets my skin clean, I don't notice any skin softening properties or anything like that, although thankfully it seems the added moisturisers work as I haven't experienced any dryness since beginning to use this. It does leave a nice scent on my skin, and in fact the scent left on my skin smells nicer than the smell when I am using it!
The shower gel costs just £1 from ASDA. This sounds quite reasonable especially as the bottle holds 275ml, but as I say you need to use lots per use which makes it less of a bargain.
Overall, this was really disappointing to me, and it's not a product I would buy again. I feel that there are better shower products out there for a similar price and so I wouldn't recommend this one.
I have tried a different fragrance gel in this range from Asda and liked it and so thought I would try this one to see if I liked it as much. I was happy with the other one I had tried, so thought I probably would be happy with this one because of the Lime and Kiwi. It is not an expensive shower gel and one that is cheap to buy.
The gel is housed in a clear plastic bottle with a flip top, it only cost a £1 for 275ml so quite cheap. The gel inside the bottle is a lime green colour and is a nice rich texture. The smell of the gel is a really nice fruity smell and very refreshing. It is quite a strong smell and one that was more stronger than I thought it would be when I saw the price of it. I feel revitalised after using it and it helps wake me in the morning because it is so refreshing. The Lime just has that fruity smell to give that feeling of freshness.
It feels nice on my skin and is a very awakening gel, especially when I have my shower first thing in the morning. It wakes me up a little more because of the strong smell of it. It lathers very well indeed and gives a nice foam. It can be rinsed from my body in no time at all with no problems. This has a kind of nice tingly feeling on my skin but not an irritating tingly feeling that is annoying. It revitalises my skin to leave it nice and clean.
I think it is well worth a £1 because the quality is really good with this gel, it is very good value for the cheap price. It does not drip at all from the bottle, it is easy to pour onto a sponge and feels pleasant on my skin. It is one that some of my grandchildren have used recently when they came to sleep over at my home and it has been very suitable for their more sensitive skin. It has not caused them to have any rashes or irritations on their skin. It is one that I think is suitable for all the family.
The bottle is good to hold to pour the gel onto a sponge, it also sits well on the side of my bath well too. It is a really nice textured gel and it is very smooth and extremely soft. It is one that I think has more of a lime smell than a kiwi smell to it. I must admit I do like a fruity gel to use mostly in the mornings and I think this one is right if you are looking for a more awakening gel.
Although I do not really care what a shower gel product looks like in my bathroom, my wife does sometimes and this bottle is quite a nice looking one even though it is quite basic looking it is not one that is not nice to look at in the bathroom.
The gel is a nice one and one that I would definitely buy again sometime in the future because the gel is refreshingly good. It is well worth the price too and I recommend it highly for others to try if they are looking for a cheap priced gel. This one is good.
I rate it 5 stars.
I have written a reviews with this range of shower gels from Asda, the one I am reviewing today is the Lime and Kiwi fragrance, I bought this one because I was so pleased with the brand for the cheap price, I just wanted to try this fragrance to see if I loved it as much as the other fragrance in this range I had tried.
At the time I bought this gel it was priced at only £1 for 275ml, it comes in a thick, transparent plastic bottle with a flip top. The bottle is slim line and so very easy to hold in the shower. It is a cheap gel but the bottle looks quite attractive with the name on the front of the bottle. Cheaper gels can tend to have a bottle design that is not too attractive as the branded ones but this one is a really nice one if you are wanting a nicer design.
It smells gorgeous and as soon as the top is lifted back the smell is apparent immediately. The fragrance is such a pleasant smell but quite strong, the smell of limes and kiwi is definitely apparent as the fragrance indicates. I would say it is more a lime fragrance in my opinion as I cannot smell too much of the kiwi. It is a nice pale Lime green colour and the consistency of the gel is amazingly thick, it does not drip from the bottle while pouring as I have found some other cheaper gels to tend to do. I have had no problems with this gel at all. The texture is amazingly soft and very smooth and it also feels soft while gliding across my skin with a sponge. it is a very good quality for only £1. I sometimes think that the shops own brands are better than a branded one and this one is certainly a fabulous lower branded gel in my opinion.
It lathers very well and has a lot of bubbles, it creates a nice foam when massaged into the skin, just how I like a shower gel to work on my skin. It is also very easy to rinse from my body and it has not irritated my skin at all or left it feeling too dry. I have sensitive skin and this gel is nice and pleasant and has not dried it too much. It has left my skin feeling smooth after my shower and it is a nice refreshing gel that leaves me nice and clean.
I love the fragrance of this one, it leaves a nice smell on my skin for quite some time after my shower, I like to shower with this one in the morning as it really helps to wake me a little bit more and refreshes me because the fragrance is more zesty. It is easy to pour from the bottle onto a sponge, only a little is needed to create the lather when the water is added and so a little really does go a very long way. This is one that can be used for all the family and is affordable for most budgets.
I buy a shower gel that usually catches my eye and I only have one favourite brand but this one is one that I will buy again as I think it is so affordable and good quality, I love the way it feels on my skin and my bathroom has a nice fresh smell after my shower because the strong fragrance of the Limes with this one.
I highly recommend this one for anyone to place in their trolley on their next visit to Asda because I do not think you would be disappointed at all with the results with this one. It certainly gives me all the results that I expect from a shower gel.

Thank you for reading my review.
A couple of years back I would never have considered purchasing an Asda named shower gel however along comes parenthood and the recession and needs must!
Being completely honest I bought this shower gel because I loved the colour! It's a fabulous lime green colour so stuck out on the shelf and at only £1 I thought I had nothing to lose.
The bottle is tall and thin and is also a recyclable plastic so I can do my bit for the environment by recycling it after I'm done.
On opening the bottle, I was welcomed with a fresh and fruity burst of lime. The product itself is a thick and creamy liquid that easily lathers in the skin which instantly left me feeling refreshed and clean.
My skin felt very soft after my shower and it left my skin smelling sweet and fruity.
It's a very gentle shower gel that all the family can use including my daughter who has eczema so tends to have to steer clear from perfumed toiletries. I noticed a instant softness to my partners skin but it was slightly to feminine for him...not that it stops him using it!
For £1 I really couldn't fault this product, its cheap but does the job and as it's a good size bottle myself and my family tend to only need 2 bottles to last us the month.
I would recommend this product to anyone looking to save money on their monthly shop.
