      Asda Kids Bath

I love trying new products in my kids bath and I think it's great that there are so many products on the market now tailored especially for kids. I think this gets them really interested in their bath and makes them want to jump in and splash around and have fun whilst I attempt to get them clean. This is definitely true for my kids who love to pour this bath gel into their bath and watch the bubbles form. I think they also like the packaging as it is definitely tailored towards kids. There is a big picture of a cute whale on the front and the bath gel is a deep vivid red colour which looks quite fun and attractive.

The whale is called Wally Whale (which I find really funny because my Grandpa was called Wally/Wallace) and on the back he says, "Hey kids, I can ker-splosh my Cheeky Cherry Foam Bath with my huge tail and make loads of lovely bubbles - how may can you make?

If its bubbles you want, then its bubbles you get with this bath gel. You only need to pour a little bit into the bath and you really do get a bath full of lovely foamy bubbles which last the whole length of the bath which I love because then my kids and I get to play with them and put them on their heads and faces etc. Some other bath gels for kids I have used in the past make bubbles but then they never last which is disappointing but this bath gel won't let you down.

The smell of the bath gel is cherry like it says on the bottle, Cheeky Cherry. It's got quite a strong cherry smell to it but its quite an artificial cherry smell to me, it doesn't smell particularly natural but then I don't think that's such a big disadvantage when you put it into a child's bath. They seem to like the smell and it does last for quite a while afterwards keeping them nice and fresh and clean. We haven't had any problems with this bath gel irritating their skin or causing any dry patches even though my son has eczema so I would definitely recommend it to other mums for a nice cheap bath.

Available at Asda for only 70p, a great bargain!

Nice product to pop into the bath for little people

Lovely weather at the moment means my children are running around more than ever, getting sticky and dirty. My son, especially at nursery, is constantly outside rolling around on floors, grass and God knows what! When I was in Asda recently, all of his extra circular dirt activities popped into my head, and I remembered to buy him a bath product. I picked this one up for 70p ( 500ml ) in size.

      Why did I buy it?

I needed to buy something! My daughter has her own concoctions prescribed by the doctor because of her Eczema, my Psoriasis is deciding to rear its ugly head so Im pretty much using what my daughter is using, so at the moment we cant share with the young man in the house! I bought this one because it looked fun, it was a good size, I assumed it would provide lots of bubbles and the price was right!

      How is it packaged?

Different to the picture on this site. Product comes in a clear plastic bottle with a red lid to dispense the product. To get product out you need to flip a section of the lid up, theres a small hole exposed and you can pour or squeeze product into the bath.

On the front of the bottle the ' Asda ' logo in small lettering is at the top. Just below that in bigger lettering is the word ' Kids ' then ' bath '. In small writing it mentions product is dermalogically tested. Under all the lettering is a fun and cartoon like picture of a blue whale with bubbles around it. Underneath the picture is the name of the fragrance, which is cheeky cherry.

On the back it tells you how to use, ingredients list, general cautions, company contact details and the fact product is suitable for vegetarians. Once open product has a 24 month shelf life.

      Ingredients

Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Parfum, Polysorbate 20, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Glycerin, PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, Benzophenone-4, Disodium EDTA, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Sodium Hydroxide, Hexylene Glycol, CI 14700, CI 17200

      How to use

Pour under warm running water for maximum bubble action!

      What did we think?

Firstly, the packaging for my son got him interested. Obviously aimed at kids, but at the same time didnt go overboard.

Opening the bottle for the first time, you get a distinct whiff of the fragrance-to me it smells like a fruity slightly floral and sweet berry type smell. I personally like those types of smells, so I liked it and so did my son. We didn't find the fragrance overpowering or too sickly, just fun! The fragrance was exactly the same in smell and strength when the product was placed in the bath, but did feel it lost some intensity after awhile. By the time the bath was finished and my son had got out, there was no smell at all.

The product itself was quite concentrated, as I barely used much. It foamed up very well and quickly under warm running water. I did help it along abit by swishing my hands in the water to intensify the bubbles. The bubbles lasted I would say roughly 10-12 minutes. By 15 minutes they were more or less gone, as my son was bothering me to put more in.

The colour of the product was bright red ( which my son loved ), and a typical gel like consistency to what you would be used to if using a bubble bath or shower gel.

I did feel that when washing my son ( I use a sponge over his body and face cloth for his face ) and placing the product on the sponge ( the sponge was damp ), it didn't lather very well. I had to use more to ensure he was washed thoroughly.

The product did wash him ok. It didn't appear to be drying while he was in the bath nor when he had finish. He didn't walk around afterwards smelling like a bowl of fruit either. Whether that is good or bad I don't know, it just means the fragrance didn't stay.

Would I use this again? Maybe. My son enjoyed his bath with this in it, it gave bubbles, nice smell and didn't dry his skin out. For me that's huge thumbs up. Personally I cant ask for anything more. Price is good and availability and it's a good size so wont need to replace this anytime soon. Im knocking a point off it because it didn't lather up well on the sponge and felt the fragrance could have lasted a touch longer.

Nicely scented bubble bath at a good price.

This is what I recently purchased in Asda'a but the picture displaying is an incorrect one. Asda's cheeky cherry childrens bubble bath, but no reason why is adults can't use it also lol.

This bubble bath can be found in the asda bath stuff section along with the other childrens bubble baths next to adult section. It is in a clear bottle which looks red as the actual bubble bath is a bright red colour. It has a picture of a blue whale on the front called Wally whale. It has a red top with a easy to open flip top lid allowing it to be squited into bath rather then poured.

It costs just £1 and lasts approximately 4-6 weeks in our house with two children. The bottle holds 500ml.

To use this you simply pour some under running warm water into the bath. It straight away starts building up some foamy bubbles in the bath but I tend to also swill my hand about in the water to cause more bubbles as that's the fun up a bubble bath having lots of bubbles and I feel without using half a bottle of this at a time it doesn't give to many bubbles.

The cherry scent of this is very nice when you smell it in the bottle. Once the bath is run the scent is just about there not so strong smelling, I do notice the smell of it lingering in the air though if I go into the bathroom later on after bath time has ended.

Asda provide a 100% satisfaction policy where if you aren't 100% happy with the product then you get a full refund or replacement. I don't think me taking an empty bottle to them as saying the kids used it too quick will count though.

This product can be used upto 24 months after opening, Like it's going to stay in my house that long lol. It is also suitable for vegetarians which I've never noticed on a non food product before.

For the price I feel this is fine for the kids to have in their bath.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A so so every day kind of product, if you like the smell of cherries of course!

One thing I get through an awful lot of is bath foam. I only have a bath in my home, my best mate only has a shower so she baths at mine I have a shower at hers but she tends to use all by products in my bathroom!

This one I bought in Asda recently costing £1.35 and actually it was a mistake. First off I didn't realise that it was meant for children as I didn't notice it said that on the front of the bottle and was with only a few other bath products and secondly until checking my receipt I believed it to be 75p a bottle. On those grounds I wouldn't have bought it especially as Radox was on offer at a pound a bottle a time! However I am happy to report that this according to the information on the back of the bottle isn't just for children but is suitable for use by the whole family!

        The Packaging:

This comes in a very large, slightly frosted white but see through plastic, squeezy bottle that holds 1L of the bath foam and to the top of it, it has a pink plastic twist on/off lid/cap. On the front of the bottle we are told that is it Asda Essentials Kids Cherry Bubble Bath and then on the back of the bottle we are told a bit about the product, how to use it and the ingredients within it, the size is stated (as I have listed already), we are told that it is suitable for Vegetarians and contact details for Asda are given. The bottle does look a little cheap but it is informative enough etc.

        Using It:

Well as with all bubble baths and bath products generally you simply tip a little of the runny dark pink bath foam into the water. It doesn't really colour the water unless you tip loads in which you don't really want to be doing as it does feels sticky and yukky on the skin if you do that.

This has a wonderful, sweet aroma of cherries to it. Not too strong but very apparent and I really like it. It makes the water soft enough, gives nice white thick foam to the top of the water and doesn't feel greasy or skin drying or anything adverse like that at all thankfully.

When I dry myself off I feel neither particularly moisturised but my skin doesn't feel dried out and prune like either...just normal really and the fragrance lingers on my skin for a good few hours too.

All in all this is a very nice bath foam that for me this is an every day sort rather than a luxurious product but it is pleasant and even makes my flat smell gorgeous after using it and so for those reasons I would buy it again and the fact that a little of it goes a very long way indeed making it economical.....even at £1.35 a bottle!

        Only available in Asda stores.
