Avon Naturals Strawberry Moisture Body Scrub.
200 mls and made in Poland. Use within 12 months
With Shea Butter, Milk Protein and Vitamin E.
'Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth.'
To use - massage and rinse - use 2-3 times a week.
Comes in white tube with a deep pink label - front has an image of luscious strawberries. Has a clear screw top with a flip up lid.
Normal price was £3 but I bought it for £1.75.
This is quite a large tube and is very attractive. The label which is stuck onto the tube is a beautiful bright pink and it has the most gorgeous image of luscious strawberries on the front.
This is a very very pale pink liquid which is quite thick and comes out of the tube resembling thin toothpaste. The pale colour belies the fact that is smells so wonderfully of strawberries - very reminiscent of yoghurts or strawberry ice cream - it is just divine.
So the smell is fantastic - when used this product is really nice, but, as it is marketed as a scrub I will describe the texture. This is a very very mild scrub - when you feel it in your hands you can detect tiny bits like fine grains of sand in the liquid. This will give you a very gentle scrub, but to my mind it is a bit too gentle.
The product to use is great and the smell is divine, if you only want a gentle exfoliant then this will work really well - but if you have lots of dimply skin in certain places as I have then I like a good strong scrub - or make your own with salt or sugar and oil.
It seems that this is also now being discontinued and I bought it as it was being sold off. But as with most Avon items they are mostly still for sale on ebay.
If you love strawberries get this - you can overlook the gentle scrub when you are enjoying the aroma!
===Would I Recommend?===
WHAT IS IT?
A body scrub from Avon.
This body scrub has got a beautiful fragrance of strawberrys. I like it very much because it is so sweet and fresh, I think it will be a very good scrub to use in the summer when the weather is warmer.
This body scrub contains Shea butter and strawberry extract. It is not a very scratchy scrub but I think it is still effective as long as your skin is not in bad condition before you start using it. It is a gentle scrub that does not damage my skin.
WHAT I THINK
I like this body scrub very much because it makes my skin feel soft after I have used it. I think it is a little bit moisturising but not very much and when I had dry skin last year this scrub did make it a bit worse. I like the strawberry smell very much and I think it is good that this smell lasts on my skin because it is such a nice fragrance.
It is easy to rinse off when I have finished cleaning my body and the exfoliating beads do not stick to my skin. I like how soft and clean my skin is after I have used this body scrub but you should not use it on your face because it is not gentle enough for that and it might make your facial skin sore. My body skin goes a little bit red after I've used this scrub and that is good because it shows that it is working, the redness goes quick and it never makes my body feel scratched or sore.
A tube of Naturals Strawberry Body Scrub costs about £3 in the Avon catalogue but I always buy mine when they are on price promotion so I buy them for half price.
4 Dooyoo Stars.
I purchased the Avon Strawberry body scrub back in October along with the shower gel as something to put in my hospital bag for when I was having my baby. The scrub was on offer at around £2, it is 200ml in size with the cap and opening on the base (see photo) so you can get all of the scrub out of the tube easily without shaking the tube/bottle. The scrub contains strawberry extract and shea butter and promises that it is a "moisturising body scrub, leaves skin feeling velvety smooth and refreshed with a polished glow" (Avon Website).
The first thing you notice is the delicious smell. I'm a big fan of strawberry smelling items and this is no different. It is quite difficult not to to want to eat the scrub as it smells so very lovely! As far as scrubs go there are plenty of exfoliating beads in the scrub but they are quite gentle. Compared to something like a St Tropez or Soap & Glory scrub, I'd have to say this was much more gentle and for me did not exfoliate the skin as well as the other two scrubs I mention. I particularly like to be well exfoliated and felt that this scrub only brushed the surface of the skin whereas the other two really scrub at it. It isn't, however, as poor as other scrubs that I have had in the past and think for the £2 price tag, it is quite a good alternative and probably better for more sensitive skin. The hole in the the bottom where the scrub comes out of isn't too big so you don't squeeze out more than you need which is good as this means less is wasted.
Overall I feel that this scrub is well priced, smells absolutely delicious and it fairly good compared to other scrubs that I have owned but not a tough exfoliator so if you are looking for something to really scrub, give this one a miss. However for the price and delicious smell, I would definitely buy this again.
Avon naturals body scrub- yummmmmmmy. I used to be an a ob rep myself and the naturals range was always highly popular, i loved the too. This cream is defibatly a fave of mine, sometimes i find creams that are supposed to be exfoliating just dont exfoilate however this one is lovely an grainy and does just that. Other reasons i love the stuff is for its absolutly gorgeous smell and the way it leaves your skin feeling gorgeous and soft. This poduct is most definatly a 5 out of 5 for me i use it everyday and it is now one of my beauty essential. I would reccomend it.
I like a lot of the Naturals range from Avon and I love strawberry scented smellies so when I first saw this in the Avon book a few months back, I ordered some straight away! Here is my review for Avon Naturals Strawberry Body Scrub:
1. The Smell
This is one of the most important things to me. The smell of this really is mouth-watering to me! It reminds me of a strawberry milkshake or Angel Delight! It really is good enough to eat! When you rub it in, the smell gets stronger! It's great! Smell gets 5 stars from me!
2. The Application
This scrub is really light, and has quite a sandy texture but it isn't abrasive at all. It's really light and the first time I used it I didn't think it would exfoliate all that well, but I was wrong! It has a nice light lather to it as well. It's very pleasant, but isn't as grainy as I would have liked from a scrub, so it gets 4 stars from me.
3. The Result:
I love the way this scrub makes my skin feel and smell. It really does work as an exfoliator which I wasn't expecting at all given the texture or the price! The scrummy smell stays on my skin and in the bathroom for hours afterwards and my skin really does feel like it's had a good decent scrubbing! Result gets 5 stars from me!
Overall, this scrub is a fabulously fruity addition to your bathroom which has exceeded all my expectations. I love it and at around £2 full price for 200ml, I think it's fantastic value, and currently (24/09/2012) it is on offer for 99p so I have stocked up!
~Avon Strawberry Body Scrub~
This body scrub is part of the Naturals collection that Avon offer. A vanilla scented scrub is also available.
This body scrub should be used no more than 2-3times per week for best results. Avon claim that this body scrub will moisturise the skin and leave it velvety smooth. It is enriched with shea butter, milk protein and Vitamin E as well as strawberry extracts.
This body scrub is presented in a pink, squeezy plastic tube which has a flip top lid at the base. The front of the tube illustrates some fresh strawberries. The packaging can be recycled and this product has a 12month shelf life. I find the packaging to be girly and bright - it looks good in my bathroom. I find that the plastic cap is quite difficult to close sometimes.
Avon products are available from Avon reps (through the brochure) and from the website www.avonshop.co.uk. A 200ml tube retails at £3.00 but it is currently reduced to 99p.
I like to use a body scrub twice a week to rid my skin of dead skin (pleasant isn't it?) and generally exfoliate my skin. I favour Soap and Glory scrubs but like to try out other brands when I spot them on offer. I bought this body scrub from Avon around 6 weeks ago when I spotted it reduced in my brochure. I believe I paid £1.50 which I feel is a fair price for this type of product providing it works well! Body scrubs are ideal for preparing your skin before tanning.
I have used different scrubs in the past - some lather slightly whilst others don't, some have sugar particles whilst others have sand particles. I am not fussed either way as long the scrub performs well and well, scrubs! This body scrub has a thick, soft and creamy texture and is white with a delicate hint of baby pink. Unlike other scrubs, there doesn't appear to be any visible scrubby bits - they are quite fine and well blended.
This scrub turns slightly creamy when it makes contact with damp skin but doesn't lather up like a shower gel. I only apply a small blob and use this on my arms and legs where I suffer from dry, often flaky skin. The creamy layer is very soft on my skin. I can feel little grains of fine sand. This scrub is a little too gentle in my opinion. It doesn't feel very scrubby at all and I do not feel that it is actually doing much except giving the surface of my skin is quick polish over. I would have preferred something with a bit more impact.
The scrub washes quickly off my skin leaving no residue and my arms and legs do not appear irritated or red from using this scrub. I notice that the scrub does soften my skin but this could be down to the creamy consistency of the scrub. The rougher parts of my skin (knees and elbows etc) appear softened but this scrub doesn't eliminate them as well as others I have used which is disappointing.
The scent of this scrub won't be to everyones tastes. It is a little sickly and artificial. It reminds me of powdered strawberry milk - sweet and a little bit creamy like they have added a touch of vanilla into the mix. The scent does linger on my skin for a short while and is pleasant enough.
I am in two minds whether to recommend this scrub or not - it softens my skin and does smell appealing but the actually scrubbing side of this product is quite a let down. Perhaps it isn't intensive enough for my dodgy skin. I feel like I have used a creamy shower gel rather than a scrub! I have used it though as I do not like waste and have around 2/3 of the tube left which isn't bad value for money.
3 stars from me :)
I like to use body scrub a few times a week to ensure that my skin is soft and smooth with any loose skin particles effectively removed. I had previously only had experience with a few brands such as The Body Shop and Sanctuary and whilst both offer positive results, I wanted to try something different, so decided to browse the beauty aisles of Tesco in search of an alternative product. I must admit that I was extremely disappointed as despite there being a huge variety of scrubs for the face, I was unable to find anything for the body and this was the case for both our local Asda and Sainsbury's stores. There seems to be a gap in the market for affordable body scrubs unlike the array of products available for the face. My next option was Avon and although I didn't particularly want to wait the three weeks for delivery, I selected their Naturals Strawberry Body Scrub and this review discusses my experience with using it.
The previous scrubs I've used have each been designed for a specific skin type and despite carefully scrutinising the 200 ml sturdy plastic tube I was unable to find any information, so presumably this product is suited to all. Appearance wise the packaging is very appealing with its bright eye catching colours of pink together with the mouth watering image of some freshly picked strawberries. I'm not keen on the packaging design of some of The Body Shop scrubs where they are presented in a tub, as this normally results in me accidentally splashing bath or shower water into the contents. Consequently, the fact that this scrub is presented in a tube, which neatly sits on a flip top lid is most welcomed by me.
The lid is fairly robust due to its strong plastic hinges although I experienced no problems with either opening or firmly closing and I was able to manage with one hand whilst the other received the product. I have found that Avon is generally considerably sparse on the directions for use for the majority of their products or in some cases they provide no directions at all. However, two lines of tiny text can be found on the reverse of the tube, which advises to massage over dry skin areas and to use two to three times per week. I prefer to use scrubs in the shower as opposed to the bath, particularly as I normally ending up sitting on the scratchy particles, which can be rather uncomfortable although I must admit that I possess a very soft and smooth rear end!
The good consistency scrub is easily dispensed and is of a very pale pink. Whilst the scrub is part of the Avon Naturals range I would argue that the aroma is natural, as whilst I can definitely detect strawberries, the scent reminds me of children's jelly sweets. The aroma is initially a little too sweet for me and whilst the scrub contains strawberry extract I would have preferred a slight sharpness, but nevertheless, it is favourable. As I massaged the scrub over my skin I was able to witness the tiny exfoliating particles, which are similar in size to grains of salt, so my first impressions were that it would not be particularly effective. However, as I continued to massage a gentle lather was created, which offered a luxurious creaminess and the sweet aroma seemed less evident.
The product was easily rinsed away without leaving any sticky or greasy residue and I must admit that I was amazed when I brushed my fingertips over the surface of my skin, as it was silky soft and very smooth. I suffer with problem areas of dry patches on my elbows and knees and the scrub was effective enough to keep these areas in tip top condition. I also experience dry skin on the underside of my feet, but unfortunately, the scrub cannot tackle this problem although I do not believe that any body scrub is suited to this purpose and a specifically designed product is required. I would wholeheartedly agree with Avon's claim that this scrub will leave skin feeling velvety smooth, which is due to the shea butter content. I felt the results were very similar to The Body Shop's Strawberry Body Polish although Avon's product is a fraction of the price. I generally moisturise directly after bathing or showering, but in order to fully assess the product's abilities I omitted this stage of my routine. I cannot report of suffering from any dryness or tightness, so clearly the scrub contains a high proportion of shea butter to keep the skin sufficiently hydrated.
The scrub should be used within twelve months of opening with the tube being recyclable once empty. I cannot recall how much I paid for mine, particularly as it was a few months ago although I have checked on the Avon website for the current price and would advise that it is currently on offer where it has been reduced from £3 to 99p, which is excellent value for money and suited to all budgets. Due to the reasons discussed above, I can highly recommend Avon Naturals Body Scrub although the fragrance was a slight issue for me, as unfortunately, it lingered on the skin's surface for a good while after use and for that reason it loses a star. However, I would definitely repurchase solely for its excellent exfoliating and moisturising properties.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
this is an amazing bodyscrub.this smell sreally great its so refreshing on the skin. it takes away the dryness on your skin and makes it really soft.i will not use another body scrub .the price in my opinion is unbeatable.I love it and will continue to purchase it and i recomend that you try it out.you will not be sorry.is a product worth paying for.I have tryed many other body scrubs in my life and they were ok but they diddnt work as fast or as good as i had hoped and they were also very expensive.with this product its very cheap and it works the first time you use it and it works great.no having to wait 3 weeks just to find out it diddnty to anything and then no being able to return it.
I never thought a bodyscrub could work as amazing as this one did.all of my dry skin was instantly removed and i felt so much mor confident with my smooth skin.
I recently purchased this product from our Avon Lady because I was desperately in need of a new body scrub and wasn't able to afford a really nice one so I bought this one to fill in the gaps between pay day!
I thought this would be a very average product, fair play to Avon they do some pretty good stuff for great deals, but I didn't expect this product to be as good as it is!
This smells like strawberry ice lollies, not just like ordinary strawberries, it's sugary and deep scented and it last on your skin (if you don't use another product over the top) and leaves you smelling absolutely incredible. Even my boyfriend was like you actually smell amazing what have you been using!? As if it was some proper expensive product.
But in fact this cost me less than £5. That's right LESS than £5!!! The scrub itself is really really grainy so it gives you a flawless finish on your skin but to be honest, the smell does it all for me! The actually product was always going to be very average but it is worth investing in for the long lasting berry smell. Fantastic skin product from Avon would definitely recommend this, especially for teenage/sensitive skin and for those that want to smell fruity and fun all day long!
I bought this product from Avon as a girl at work had ordered it and I loved the smell so I decided to order one as well.
The product is available from Avon obviously and it is meant to cost £3 for a 200ml tube but I bought it at half price so it costs me £1.50 and in the current brochure this and a number of other products are available on a 5 for £5 offer which I will be stocking up on.
The product comes in a tube which is made of plastic, the tube has a flip top lid on it which the tube actually stands on. The tube is a pale pink colour and it has the name of the product, the Avon name and a picture showing lovely juicy strawberries on it.
When you flip open the lid which I found to be stiff at first you can smell the product without actually needing to be too close to it, it smells divine and strongly of strawberries and reminds me of strawberry Frijj milkshake. The hole in the lid is wide enough to let the product come out easily and giving the tube a little squeeze dispenses the product.
The product is a very pale pink in colour much like the tube itself and the cream is thick enough so that you don't get it all over the place. The cream has lots of little hard bits inside it which is because this is a body scrub rather than just a wash but the bits aren't too harsh when you are using the product. I use this product in the shower and have found that it is really good on my skin, it leaves my skin feeling soft and silky and it is slowly getting rid of my little bumps on my skin which is where the hair follicles keep getting trapped.
I love this product and like I said at the beginning of this review I am about to stock up on it, it smells great and the smell stays well on your skin and it does a great job on my skin. The strawberry range in Avon has a number of other products in it which I plan on trying soon.
~ Avon Naturals Strawberry Body Scrub ~
*** Note, this is not a food product, so cannot be eaten, no matter how good it smells! ***
Usually I buy these type of products when I go shopping as I usually buy N-Spa Coconut body scrub however when I saw this in the last Avon brochure I added it to my order and now I am quite glad I did.
Usually this is priced at £3.00 but it was on offer for just £1.25 for a 200ml bottle and if I am honest it was this that led me to buy it. Sucker for a bargain/offer!
Of course being from Avon it wasn't something that I could use straight away so I patiently awaited it's delivery by my local Avon rep. I had forgotten what I had ordered so was pleased when I saw this in the paper bag .... Memory like a sieve at times!
I took it out and opened it for a sniff, and I have to say I was impressed! It smelt like strawberry milkshake and was good enough to eat * See Note at top *.
This comes in a plastic tube very much like a giant toothpaste tube. The bottle has a strip of white across the top and then the Avon Naturals logo. Beneath this is a picture of some juicy fresh looking strawberries, under that is a light pink band and then the rest of the bottle is coloured in a baby pink colour.
The back of the tube contains the usage instructions in many different languages and I have just noticed that Avon have a warning on the back .... This is not a food product! Great minds and all that!
It has a sturdy clear flip top lid on which the tube stands. The lid flips open easily, even with wet hands and under the lid is where you will find the little round opening which allows the product to come out. It's quite thick so it doesn't pour out of the hole but a gentle squeeze of the tube will allow you to release how much you want/need.
The stuff inside isn't a gel or liquid but more of a cream. The cream is a very pale pink colour, more white with a hint of pink than full on pink, and the smell is amazing. As it is a body scrub the cream contains lots of little gritty bits but these cannot be seen at all unlike some others where the gritty stuff is visible.
I have used this three times since getting it on Sunday and the results are great.
I am prepping my skin ready to apply my fake tan for a night out and this stuff is giving great results. I have used it in the shower and I give my arms and legs a really good scrub with this to get rid of any dry skin, paying particular attention to my elbows and knees. I just squeeze a little out and rub into my arms and although it feels gritty and it does rub, it isn't an uncomfortable experience in any way. In fact I find it quite relaxing. The scent is brilliant when in use and the shower just fills with the amazing strawberry scent.
I work it in in circular movements and after a shower it leaves my skin really soft and smooth. As I have to moisturise my skin two hours after having a shower I can still detect the strawberry scent on my arms, and possibly my legs too but I haven't sniffed them!
The last time I used it was just before bed last night and whilst I could detect the scent when I went to bed in the morning I couldn't smell it at all but I did smell clean and fresh!
The body scrub contains shea butter, milk protein and vitamin E so that probably explains why I haven't needed to moisturise. It has left my skin smooth and soft and not dry looking in any way at all.
I am very impressed with this product and will certainly be buying it in the future.
The price as already mentioned is usually £3.00 but being an Avon product you will most likely find it cheaper most of the time.
The only drawback of this product is that it is an Avon product, not that it is a bad thing but it isn't as widely available as others and can only be purchased through your local Avon rep or online at ~
Thanks for reading :o) x
