Avon Naturals shower gel is one of the many products Avon offers us in their bathing range and strawberry and guava has to be my favourite smell so far.
Avon Naturals shower gel comes in a 200ml bottle. It has a very simplistic design. A clear bottle with a short description on the front, the lid is tight fitted but sometimes it can be a bit too tight to click on and off especially when you are in the shower.
I like the strawberry and guava smell but then again I am someone who loves sweet smells. I have heard others say that it is a little sweet for their liking. As a shower gel it is a strong scent that fills the shower when used. It doesn't have a good lather effect so I always end up having to use quite a bit to make sure I am completely covered. The scent doesn't last long on the skin either, considering that outside of the bottle the scent seems very strong but on the skin it seems to fade quicker than I would have expected.
I did however feel very fresh after using it, and although the scent doesn't last as long as I would have liked it still lasts an hour or so. It makes my skin feel smoother and silky.
It is in Avon for £2.70 but you can get deals on it, I always hold it out until I see a good deal in there.
I would recommend this product. It is cheap and it gets the job done nicely. However, don't be expecting any miracles.
A friend of mine recently became an avon rep in a bid to earn some extra cash and so I felt I should support her by purchasing a few avon products, one of which was this Avon Naturals Strawberry and Guava Shower gel, which cost £1.30. To be quite honest I bought this product because I thought it looked nice. I love strawberries and any kind of strawberry smelling product and so this caught my hair.
This shower gel claims to be a 'fruity infusion of ripe, juicy strawberry and exotic guava'. It also claims to leave skin feeling refreshed. The fact that the shower gel is strawberry coloured makes you automatically think it will have a very distinctive strawberry scent that would hopefully linger on the skin after showering.
Now, I am generally a soap and water kind of girl, but every so often I will use a shower gel. When I opened this bottle of shower gel I thought I would be immediately struck with the smell of strawberry and yes, there is certainly a scent there, but it isn;t very strong in my opinion. If I hadn't been told I probably could have guessed that there are some strawberry in the scent but not a lot- as for the guava, not that I'm that familiar with the smell of guava but I don't smell anything. I do think that the hint of strawberries is more like the smell of real strawberries rather than the artificial strawberry smell you can get. Apart from there being a lack of strong scent with this shower gel, which I thought was very disappointing, there obviously was no lingering scent on the skin, which was another disappointment.
In regards to its cleansing ability, well it does lather up reasonably well on the skin and my skin does feel clean afterwards, but again I have used much better shower gels that give a lot better lather, so this was also a little disappointing.
All in all, I have big hopes for this shower gel, but despite the small price, it is lacking on smell and lather. A disappointing product.
My mam is an Avon rep so I decided to order a few things from the catalogue last time I visited her. One of the things I chose to try was the strawberry and guava shower gel. I chose that because I felt it was a good price and I thought the strawberry and guava scent would make it a good product to use for the summer.
The shower gel comes in a clear bottle through which you can see the bright red gel. There is a label on the front featuring a photograph of some strawberries, and it has a flip top cap through which to dispense the product. The packaging is in keeping with other products in the Avon naturals range and almost identical to the lotion with the matching fragrance (which I will review soon by the way!).
One problem I have found in the past when using strawberry scented bath products from other companies, is that the strawberry scent can seem to come out a little bit artificial. On the whole, with this product I would say the smell is quite natural. It's quite a strong strawberry scent but it has a sharpness to it which I can only assume comes from the guava. I have found however, that although I don't notice so much when it's in the bottle, when I actually use the gel, the scent can smell ever so slightly chemical.
I was surprised at how thick the gel is. It's so thick it's almost jelly-like and it lathers up incredibly well. You get a really luxurious, thick foam from this, so if you're someone who prefers to double your shower gel up as a shaving gel, this is perfect for that purpose.
After use this leaves my skin feeling clean and there is a trace of strawberry scent left on my skin too. I wouldn't say this is a product that does anything fantastic for my skin (other than get it clean), however it doesn't dry it out as some cheap shower gels can.
This shower gel costs just £2.50 a bottle from Avon, but is often on special offer. Whilst this is a fair price, the bottle is relatively small at only 200mls and I have found that it has run down very quickly. In fact I would say that I have used nearly the whole bottle in less than two weeks which is a little disappointing.
On the whole I do quite like this product. It feels nice to use as it's so thick, has a pleasant scent and lathers really well. It's a shame it seems to get used up really quickly and I suppose it's in no way the most special shower gel I've ever used, but it's nice enough and I would use it again.
My wife tends to buy a lot of fruity shower gels - and to be honest most of them smell synthetic and not at all like the fruit they are meant to depict... but this is actually really nice.
From Avon, this is one of their naturals range (which might explain the 'almost edible' smell). Its bright red with pictures of juicy strawberrys one the front. It is a bottle - so it doesnt have a hanger which is a disadvantage for me, i hate having to find somewhere to stash my products when im in the shower and much prefer them to hang! It has a very believable strawberry aroma, with a hint of guava so subtle it is difficult to identify it. The gel itself is really thick - so theres no runny wastage slipping through your hands and you can really get the most out of your purchase.
Its a good job it isnt runny though because if it was it wouldnt last 2 minutes! We go through so much shower gel in our house its ridiculous - so buying a 200ml bottle of this appeared daft. But, it lasted much longer than your average cheap stuff because you use less.
It usually costs £2.50 - which is dear for what it is and i wouldnt spend that on it. But its on offer at the moment for £1.25 - so pick it up while you can for a bargain!
Avon Naturals Strawberry and Guava Shower Gel
I bought this shower gel a while ago from Avon.
Being a representative I am lucky enough to get lots of good deals on most things and because I spend a lot of time telling customers about the new or bestselling items I always know what's cheapest when and what the best things to buy are.
The main reason I bought it thinking back is probably just because of the low price and it was advertised well in the brochure - I was tempted to try it out for myself.
When it arrived in the order I knew exactly what it was - it looks exactly as it does in the brochure.
Sometimes products that arrive can be much smaller or different than they are shown in the brochure but this one looked exactly the same which can only be a good thing.
The bottle is made of clear plastic with a clear plastic lid.
It contains 200ml and looks exactly like it does in the picture provided at the top of this page.
The label has a picture of succulent looking red strawberries so you can immediately tell what flavour this is going to be.
There is also a smaller image of a guava which is also part of the flavour in this shower gel although when I use it I can mainly pick out the sweet smell of strawberries.
I love the smell and anyone who likes strawberry flavoured body products will probably love this, too.
The lid for this is easy to open although it is delicate and if you were to open it fast or rough then it might snap off.
You use this when you are in the bath or shower, you just rub it over your body to feel clean and refreshed.
Rinse well after lathering over skin. You will also smell gorgeous after using this but the smell won't stay too strongly on your skin after you've dried yourself.
The shower gel itself is a semi transparent red colour and it smells lovely, as mentioned before it smells like sweet strawberries with only a hint of guava.
It cleanses well and I always feel clean and refreshed after using this.
I would recommend it for the following reasons: the low price, the lovely smell of strawberries and because it leaves me feeling clean and refreshed after using it.
It is excellent value for money and is a really good shower gel.
But I would't recommend this to men - if they want to use it then I wouldn't stop them but I'm not sure they would due to the strawberry flavoured smell.
If you do want to buy this it is from Avon so you would either have to order it through your local Avon representative or if you don't have one you could always get it from the Avon website, www.avon.uk.com.
The price for this is normally £2.85 although currently it is only 99p which is excellent value for money.
One of my Christmas presents from my parents was a lovely red box tied with a ribbon and filled with a whole manner of strawberry scented toiletries. One of the products in this box was a bottle of Strawberry & Guava Shower gel from the Avon Naturals range.
The shampoo comes in a relatively tall and thin see-through plastic bottle upon which you will find the information that it is "formulated with pure strawberry and guava extracts" and that it will "leave skin replenished and renewed".
Due to the fact that the bottle is see-through you can see the very lush looking red gel and when you snap back the cap a very sweet and summery strawberry scent wafts out. Now I adore strawberry, in fact I'm mad about them and always have been and therefore this smell was for me simply sublime. It isn't however too sweet as to put you off wanting to wash yourself with it and in facts makes the prospect of doing so even more enticing. The bottle itself contains 200ml of shower gel, which is more than enough for a fortnight of washing.
In my opinion the shower gel is suitable for any skin types and the bottle does not dispute this. Furthermore I myself have quite sensitive skin and have not found the gel to cause any irritation at all. I would however strongly suggest that the shower gel only be used by the female population as the smell can linger on you for quite a while and I know that must men aren't particularly fond of this - my cousin complained like mad when he used this before he went to work and reported back to me that his female (and some male) colleagues kept using the phrase "You smell good today Sir" - needless to say I laughed at him when he told me. Anyway back to normality; when using the shower gel I have found that you do not need to use a lot to get a thick lather that will wash you completely and upon first use completely misjudged this and ended up with foam all over the place.
After rinsing the shower gel off I must admit that I do find that my skin looks quite a bit shiny and after a few hours retains a healthy looking glean. Furthermore my skin does feel softer and well nourished, which is definitely a bonus. I have already mentioned the smell early but just thought I would reiterate that the smell of the shower gel does linger for a while and is in my opinion very refreshing. With some shower gels however the lingering smell can be an issue, especially if you want to apply perfume afterwards. I've noticed though that if I do this the shower gel smell seems to die down quite quickly - maybe my cousin should have thought of that.
All in all I must admit that I am really impressed with this product. It lathers up exceptionally well and therefore you get a lot of washes out of the bottle. Furthermore it has a lovely scent that doesn't just disappear once you've rinsed of and the gel itself, in my case at least, does leave your skin feel nourished and with a healthy glow.
A bottle of this strawberry and guava shower gel can be purchased for around the £2 from most Avon catalogues and is often found on special offer along with other products or sometimes on it's own simply at a lower price. You can also purchase this online at "avonshop.co.uk" but please be aware that all orders will incur a delivery charge if purchased this way.
The fresh smell of strawberries from this product is delicious!
I have been using various shower gels from Avon for several months and this has to be one of my favourites.
I think it is excellent value for money, a 200ml bottle costs around £2.50, but i find that there are some good deals in the "Avon Naturals" range frequently, with one recent brochure offering half price on the Naturals range, thus making it £1.25, and a great opportunity to stock up!
Also, I find that I don't need to use a lot of the product to achieve a nice lather, which means it lasts more than some other (cheaper) products.
The product is easy to use, with a "popup" or "flip" cap, which makes it easier to avoid the product leaking or spilling. You can then squeeze the desired amount out of the bottle and enjoy!
This product is worth a try for the scent, if nothing else.... it really is delicous!
I used to buy a similar smelling product from The Body Shop years ago, and I decided to try this one from Avon. It was more so the price that persuaded me to buy this, as with most Avon products it is on offer from time to time.
First of all the bottle design. It is see through plastic. It is quite narrow and more so slimline. The gel is a deepish red colour and that obviously shines through the bottle. It has a sticker going all the way round describing the gel and it has a picture of Strawberries on the front. It is 200ml
Price, as with Avon it's often on offer. In the last book it was £1.25, but it's normal price is £2.50, which I think is great value even at the normal price.
So, now to the smell. not too sure what Guava smells like, but the smell of Strawberries is brilliant. It smells like ripe, fresh strawberries and a bit creamy as well. Very fruity and makes you feel fresh and clean. The smell lingers on your skin for ages and makes your skin feel moisturised.
If you've not tried it, I highly recommend you do
The Naturals range from Avon consist of a wide variety of fruity, natural ingredients in a range of shower gels, body washes and body lotions. They've even recently started offering a gorgeous Body Yoghurt though this unfortunately does not come in Strawberry and Guava.
This particular product, the Strawberry and Guava Naturals Shower Gel, is my personal favourite from the range at the present time. The range is constantly changing and evolving so it may only be a matter of time before this is replaced by a new scent. While it lasts I am making the most of it and absolutely adore the sticky, sweet scent this shower gel gives off when I use it. It's like the sweetest strawberry scent you could hope for and the smells stays on your skin for a while even after you have come out of the shower. If you want to make it last longer then you should use the Strawberry and Guava Body Lotion as this will layer up the scent on your skin and keep it put for longer.
When you use this shower gel it's easy and convenient as the plastic bottle is easy to squeeze and there is a flip top lid for easy one handed opening. The gel is thick but not so much so it doesn't come out easily. I do think that it is important to note that while you probably don't need to use a lot of this, you tend to use twice as much as necessary just because it has got such a nice texture and smell. So although this comes in a 200ml bottle, you may find yourself not getting as much use out of it as you had expected because it is easy to get carried away.
The usual Avon price of this product is £2.50 a bottle which is very reasonable given the natural ingredients that go into making this. It is presently on offer in brochure 14 at just £1.25 a bottle too so at that price I highly recommend treating yourself to an end of summer bargain.
The smell of strawberries is very summery I think so I was glad that my Avon order came last week just in time for the beautiful weather we have had over the past few days. I had ordered a new product from their Naturals range, Strawberry & Guava shower gel.
It comes in the tall thin bottle that is typical of the Avon Naturals range and looks lovely because it is transparent so I can see the pretty pinky red colour of the shower gel. There are also pictures of big juicy strawberries on the label which made me fall in love instantly with the bottle.
The smell of this shower gel is lovely. It is quite strongly strawberry and smells very sweet but there is an undertone of something else which tones the sweetness down a little bit, I assume this is the scent of guava.
I poured some on my sponge when I had a shower and realised this is quite a thin shower gel and comes out of the bottle very fast so the first time I used too much and wasted some of the gel. You only need to squeeze the bottle very softly to get enough shower gel out for your shower and you really do not need to use very much because it lathers up very well.
It is quite a thin lather but it does the job because I felt squeaky clean when I got out of my shower and my skin felt nice and soft as well. I still had to apply my body moisturiser after I dried myself, but I have excema and my skin is very dry so I was not expecting to get away with not using the moisturiser.
I was quite disappointed that the scent did not linger on my skin for very long after I had got out of the shower and was almost gone by the time I had dried myself. I could still smell a nice clean sweet fragrance but even this disappeared within an hour and then there was no smell to remind me of my lovely strawberry scented shower.
This 200ml shower gel costs £2. 50 usually from the Avon book or online but the Naturals range is usually included in some sort of BOGOF or 4 for £5 promotion so this will be the time I stock up I think. The Strawberry & Guava shower gel is really nice but I do not think I would pay the full price for it.
With summer coming, (ok I was fooled into believing that summer was coming on the day I placed my order as the sun was shining!) I do like to lighten up on my fragrances. All winter I have been using rich moisturising shower creams etc with heavy vanilla scents and now all the lovely lighter scented products of fruits and linen are hitting the shelves so out goes the old and in comes summer!
One of my purchases from Avon was this product and why I purchased it after the Lemon & Honey shower jelly fiasco I have no idea! That truly wasn't a good experience so when I placed this order I was obviously attracted by the thought of the strawberry fragrance besides I at the same time of placing the order for this had purchased the 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner also in the same fragrance and I loved the idea of top to toe fragrancing!
200ml clear recyclable clear plastic bottle with a see through plastic flip top lid with small hole in it. I must mention at this point that you do need to be careful when replacing the flip bit down cos do it wrong and it breaks easily! On the font in white writing I'm told it is Avon Naturals, 'Body' then there is a rather large photo of some rather juicy looking strawberries then in black writing I'm told it is 'conditioning strawberry & guava shower gel', a symbol on the front tells me it contains Bioseed (whatever that is!) and the size, as I've already stated. On the back I'm told it is 'formulated with pure strawberry and guava extracts to leave skin replenished and renewed', directions for use, loads of stuff in foreign languages, ingredients and that it is made in Poland.
Not too impressed with the packaging to be honest as I keep mine in my bathroom and have noticed that the plastic that all the information is on, on my bottle has bubbled and some of the writing has faded and it looks rather scruffy looking! Have to mention that cos I think it makes my product look so cheap and now!
When you look through the bottle as I mentioned you can see the liquid. It's a pinkish reddish colour and looks 'juicy'. It does, if tipped upside down with the lid undone run out of the hole out the top without squeezing the tube so it isn't thick in it's consistency at all. However squirt a bit out on to a sponge or scrunchy and a little goes along way and it quickly foams up. I wouldn't say the bubbles are overly thick and moisturising though but you wouldn't expect this to be just by looking at it in the bottle.
The smell is very fresh and light and smells to me very fruity but not in your face strawberry. I don't know what a guava is to be completely honest so I'm not sure if that takes the edge off the strawberry fragrance somewhat or not but it definitely isn't just a strawberry fragrance! In fact I'm not entirely sure if someone asked me to sniff this blindfolded I'd be able to tell the fragrance but having said that it is entirely pretty in it's smell and I would say really it's for women and kids as a general rule (I don't know a man that would want to smell of fruits lol.
Anyway as for the amount to use. Hard to say. I feel like I'm using loads and then I look at my bottle and I haven't and me, I'm really heavy handed with my toiletries. It does foam and it's nice to shave with.
Rinsing it off is easy and unlike a couple of Avon shower gels and jellies I have used is not sticky at all and leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth but I do have one complaint. I don't feel that clean. I know I am cos I don't half scrub and I should feel fresh cos of the fragrance alone but I just don't really. I think one of the reasons is because although you step out the shower and smell of this gel, half an hour later there is no scent at all. Personally I like that smelling fresh feeling and this doesn't provide me with that.
Its ok. It does what you expect from a cheap shower gel really. I wouldn't feel happy to base my cleaning regime on this day in and day out but am happy to use it occasionally. I just feel it doesn't clean me the amount I want it to and that, the smell doesn't stick around and skin isn't as moisturised as I personally require. It's not revolting its as I say...ok lol.
Normally £2.50 but usually within an offer. Exclusive to Avon.
