      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Not what I thought doesn't work as a body scrub

I have reviewed a few avon products already and this is another item I have also tried from the avon range. I always try to ex-foliate my skin most days of the week but especially when I am going to be applying fake tan. I am still yet to find an exfoliater than I really love and this one was in the list of ones I experimented with.

I ordered the Avon naturals vanilla body scrub from my local avon representative and paid I think around £2.50 (this was on offer sorry don't know how much it is full price)

      Description:

The body scrub claims to be vanilla and contains shea butter, milk protein and vitamin E which should all help to leave your skin feeling smooth and pampered. It comes in a 200ml squeezy tube so it is easy to get the product out of the bottle.

      Trying the product:

I carried out my normal routine of having a bath with bubbles in and then had a quick wash with shower gel first. I squeezed some of the body scrub out but soon noticed it didn't really look like a scrub more of a shower gel. I couldn't see many exfoliating bits but as I rubbed it into my skin I could feel them slightly (not what you would expect though from a body scrub). I wasn't really fond of the smell as it didn;t smell much like vanilla but it was pleasant at least.
I tried the product again a couple of times that week but wasn't blown away with it so decided to just use as a shower gel to wash with and carry on my search for a good quality body scrub.

For £2.50 maybe I was a little optimistic of the results. I wouldn't recommend as a body scrub would just say more of shower gel. It wasn't what I was expecting but it wasn't a complete waste of money so for that reason I am giving it 2 stars.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Has not converted me

In order to keep my skin in tip top condition I like to exfoliate a couple of times a week. My usual weapon of choice for this is Soap & Glory's Flake Away. However as some of you might know products from S & G are not exactly the cheapest on the market. As I am trying to save some pennies at the moment I went on the look out for a cheaper option. When I saw this new body scrub shower gel in the Avon catalogue I thought I would give it a go since it was on offer for only £2.

      **What is it?**

This vanilla body scrub is from the Avon naturals range. It contains shea butter, milk protein and vitamin E which help to leave your skin feeling soft and smooth.

      **Packaging**

The gel comes in a squeezy tube which sits on its head allowing the product to be squeezed out easily. Although I am not a huge fan of exfoliators in this type of packaging I have to say that this is made out of a nice soft plastic which enables you to squeeze out every last drop.

      **Using the product**

The first thing I noticed about this product is that it is very creamy in its consistency. It doesn't look very exfoliating at first as no beads are physically noticeable.
To get the best out of exfoliating I use exfoliating gloves. As I massage the product into my skin I feel tiny particles rubbing against my skin. The smell of vanilla is lovely, not too sweet.

Despite being called a body scrub I would definitely say this is more of just a shower gel. The gel does not produce much lather but has a nice creamy richness.

The reason I say this is more of a shower gel is that I didn't see much exfoliating qualities from the product. The tiny particles do not do a great job at combating dry skin; sure they help a little but not as much as a more expensive product.

The smell of the vanilla is noticeable on my skin for about an hour after using and my skin does feel soft.

      **Price and Availability**

You can buy this from Avon catalogues and online for £3, it is often on offers.

      **Conclusion**

I would use this product again if I was given it as a gift as it is an okay product however to get great exfoliating results I am going to stick to my trusty Soap and Glory.
