I love things that smell nice and have a cupboard full of shower gels yet if I see them on offer I will always buy more, the senses range which is one of my favourites is from Avon. You can buy the shower gel from Avon's website or from one of their representatives and a 500ml bottle usually costs £3.
A few months ago Avon had these shower gels along with a few other products on offer at 5 for £5 so I stocked up as of course that made it £1 per bottle which I think is a decent price.
The product comes in a see through plastic bottle with a bright pink flip top lid on it, as the bottle is see through you can see the bright pink product inside and I love the vivid colour. The shower gel is described as sensual and romantic, I personally think it is a very floral scent and feel that I can smell roses in it.
To use the product simply open the flip top lid which is pretty stiff to start with and squeeze a blob of the product into the palm of your hand, the product is pretty thick so the bottle does need a squeezed to dispense it. The product needs to be lathered up either directly onto wet skin or using a sponge or shower puff, I personally use a shower puff as it exfoliates the skin but also seems to make shower gel last longer.
The shower gel lathers up really nicely and I only need about a 10p sized blob to wash my whole body and even then there is plenty of lather left in the puff. The shower gel rinses off my skin really easily and I have found that it leaves my skin feeling nice and soft. I have issues with the skin on my hands and have not found this aggravating in any way and have found that the scent stays lightly on my skin after drying.
I love this shower gel and love the whole range and have pretty much tried them all now, I tend to prefer the fruity scented ones than the floral scented so rate this one 4 stars from 5 as it is not my favourite in the range .
I'm reviewing AVON SENSES "MYSTIQUE,sensual & romantic ".
It is a shower cream and comes in 250ml plastic bottle.
This is weird. My bottle says 250mls, but on their website there ARE no 250mls bottles,so I suspect a misprint on the site.
Either way,my bottle is a pretty standard size ,and very pink ...as is the creme.
Anyway, where was I ? Oh yes......... I got this in a basket of goodies at Christmas & I'm only getting round to trying it out now.
First things first. On sniffing at this from the top of the bottle I was not impressed at all & personally would have dismissed it on that alone, but on having started using it I've been really surprised . It is one of those fragrances that changes once you begin to use it,so it went from being rather heavy & vaguely nicely perfumed kitchen cleanser aroma, to smelling lovely & floral & light once it was on the wash cloth.
It also lathers well. Now I'm not stupid and I'm fully aware that many non-lathering wash items cleanse just as well as frothy ones, but there is something incredibly satisfying about feeling all that lovely lather on your skin..... in my opinion. Might be a mental thing, but it exists in me and this shower creme was well & truly 'fluffy & foamy '.
The after effects were satisfactory as well. A nice clean smooth feeling to my skin and a lovely fragrance emanating from it.No tightness in the face area either (which is something I get from some shower gels & cremes).
Apparently the fragrance comes from rose gardenia, jasmine, peach & vanilla. Which is what I'd have near enough guessed at....mainly muskily floral but with a very slight fruit undertone & some sweetness.
It all comes together well in this shower creme & all things considered I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Prices will vary. An AVON brochure might have it on offer at a different price from their online shop where it is advertised at £1.75p for a huge 750ml bottle (Do they DO them that big ? Must be a mistake) & £2. I'm usually a Poundshop fiend re shower gels/cremes but this one I would buy for a treat...... just for me,cos I'm worth it.

Review of Avon Senses Mystique Shower Gel
Avon is well known in the United Kingdom and the company has been popular for many years. Older readers will no doubt recall the 1960's advertising campaign which involved the ringing doorbell and the cheery 'Avon Calling' sales rep.
**The Shower Gel**
This shower gel is presented in a clear plastic bottle containing 250ml of product. The bottle is fairly tall, slim design. It has a flip open/close lid that is located directly on top of the bottle. The flat base of the bottle makes it easy to stand on the soap tray in my shower cubicle. There is no hanging hook with this shower gel.
The shower gel is a beautiful colour, a deep pinkish red and it has a rather distinctive scent. It is a deep, floral fragrance, to my nose it is predominantly a rose fragrance, rich and sweet. Avon describe this as having a rose and jasmine scent. The scent of the shower gel lingers on my skin for several hours after use and as an added bonus it seems to fill the bathroom with a lovely floral fragrance.
In use, this shower gel is one of the nicest I have ever used from the Avon Senses range. The scent seems to sort of mature in the warmth of the shower. It lathers well, even in the hard water here in south east Kent and it cleanses my skin very well. I went to a Military festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend where your arm was stamped with a red ink marker (to show you had paid your entrance!). I had a shower when I got home, and found this shower gel removed the ink with virtually no rubbing or scrubbing.
I wouldn't say that Avon Senses Mystique leaves my skin feeling particularly moisturised, but it certainly does not feel excessively dry or taut after using this shower gel.
**Availability and Price**
Avon products can be ordered through their brochures from an Avon representative or by ordering directly online. When ordered through a rep, there is no delivery charge to factor into your spend and goods are paid for on receipt, not in advance.
When ordering on line, there is a delivery charge to pay; this is currently £3.50 for standard delivery. I would advise readers to order via a cashback site as many offer a pretty good rate of cashback when buying Avon goods. As an example, Topcashback currently offer 10% cashback.
Avon has a money back policy should you be dissatisfied with your purchase.
Avon Senses Mystique shower gel is priced at £2 for the 250ml size, the company do sometimes offer a larger size of 500ml, but this is not listed in the current brochure or on line at the moment.
**My Thoughts and Conclusion**
I really love this shower gel, it has a great scent, it lathers well, it cleans my skin leaving me feeling fresh and fragrant, what more could one expect from a shower gel?
I know there are many cheaper shower gels on the market but in my opinion, this one is worth every penny. Avon often has special offers on their products and it is worth looking out for these as they can represent impressive savings.
My only negative comment is that the bottle has no hanging device, I do prefer shower gels that I can hang up in the shower cubicle, but this is of course personal preference.
I would definitely recommend this shower gel to others and am awarding it a 5* rating, if I could award it 10*s then I would!
Thank you for reading.

===Why I Bought It===
I often get the AVON catalogue and bought some of these shower gels when on offer for £1.
I never stick to one particular brand or fragrance of shower gel and often just try out different ones when they are on offer - I figure that is the best way of finding one I really like.
My favourite is the original Skin so Soft Woodland but unless you experiment you never find out which others you might like too.
Avon Senses is a range of bath and body products and they are constantly bringing out new ones in the line.
The one I am reviewing is Mystique.
It comes in a 250 ml clear slim plastic bottle with a raspberry red lid which has a flip up top.
The gel itself is a thickish clear consistency and is a darkish raspberry red colour.
The front label calls it 'Sensual and Romantic' and the image on the label is of the Eiffel Tower and a misty scene with an old street light.
The back has a large label which lists the ingredients and states it should be used within 12 months of opening.
The gel is made in Poland.
Avon also sell a hand wash in the same fragrance.
£2 full price but often on offer and are now 5 for £5.
The smell of this gel is not very strong at all once in use, although it is pleasant when it first comes out of the bottle. I am not really sure what the fragrance is meant to be - but it is a sort of heady, heavy sweet floral - and when you do get to smell something it is more like fruits and flowers than anything else.
The bottle does go a long way as you only need one or two squirts of the thick gel - it lathers easily and leaves you skin feeling smooth - but neither moisturised nor taute. I use this is a bath or shower. This has more of an aroma and perfume than the Serenity one I recently tried but still the aroma, though nice when first out of the bottle, does not last for long.
Being a nice thick gel you can easily ensure you only use a small amount, as will some runny gels you use more than intended which is wastful.
Once in use I hardly noticed any fragrance which is a bit of a disappointment.
It works well as a basic gel but I can get the same results from the 46p Tesco Baby Bath I have been buying.
If I pay more for a gel it is to get a nice aroma in the bathroom which makes bathing a nicer experience.
This is a nice coloured gel. It cleans well and rises easily. Not too bad a deal when on special offer but nothing at all special for me.
Personally I am not that impressed with any of the Senses gels but will keep trying as you never know which may be just to my liking!
4 stars - OK as a shower gel, nice fragrance but does not last.
===Would I Recommend?===
Yes - fine as a shower gel but not a long lasting fragrance.
The first thing to note about this product is that it is massive. I mean this product lasts forever. No joke!
I love Avon, and regularly get Avon from our rep that's a friend of my mums. I ordered this and one of the other Senses shower gels, just because I needed shower gel and it was nearing pay day, but it just wouldn't stretch (we've all been there!) I basically chose this one because it was pink and had Paris on the front! It looks extremely feminine and appealing without even smelling it!
This is a product that does exactly what it says on the tin! It smells so girly and pretty, and you can definitely see why they've named it Mystique, it makes me smells like I've just stepped off the set of a Hollywood film. It's not exactly fruity or fresh but it's quite musky, like perfume with a hint of the bright flowery scent. It all sounds a bit strange but trust me out of the Sense's shower gels I have used, this is my favourite!
It lathers well, so not only does it smell great the actual content of the product is good. A slight criticism would be that as soon as I get out and dry myself the beautiful smell does start to wear off which is a shame because it's sooo nice!
Anyway, all I can say about this product is that Avon does it again, it is so cheap for the amount of product you get which is great! And the actual quality of the product is actually incredible! Well done Avon!
As previously stated in my review of the senses liquid soaps the senses selection is the highly affordable high quality shower gel and liquid soaps available through the Avon cosmetics brochure or through the Avon shopping website.
The shower gels are available in either 250ml bottles which normally cost £2 each or as low as 99p when discounted or the larger 500ml bottles that cost £3 or £1.40 when on discount which is pretty great value considering the volume you get for your money.
The packaging of Mystique
Mystic is packaged in a transparent plastic bottle with a reddish-pink lid which pops open for easy access. It is described as sensual and romantic and has a little image of the Eiffel Tower Paris on it (as many think that Paris is an idea of what is romantic I guess, I cannot say I find Paris very alluring due to how much the French love their dogs if you get what I am saying there). It is available in both the 250ml and 500ml bottles at current too. Unlike other Avon products it does not come in a separate box so sometimes these can arrive bashed a bit.
The product itself is also a pinky colour which lathers up rather nicely with a bath squidgy releasing the tantalising scents of Jasmine and Rose which are said to invigorate and energise the body. You don't need a lot or many splodges of this to get the bubbles going so the bottles do last for quite a while especially the larger ones so the product is very kind to your wallet. The smell is very pleasant and does as with most other Avon body washes stay with you for at least an hour which is quite nice.
Although I suffer from dry skin and eczema this shower gel does not sting or irritate me though I do need to alternate it with a more hydrating shower gel people with normal to greasy skin should be able to use this constantly with ought any problems. It is recommended that you keep this out of your eyes though but that is a given and it does not bring me out in red welts like some other cheaper range shower gels from big named stores.
I think everyone in my house has had a go at using either this or the other senses shower gels my dad finds the smaller 250ml bottles convenient for taking to the gym and we usually have a 500ml bottle somewhere in the house for when we have lots of guests over in the summer, we have just said goodbye to 5 Austrian people including 3 students and one child so the big bottles come in really handy.
Other scents available
Lagoon (blue/turquoise) - Clean and refreshing (water fruits and pear)
Reflection (purple) - Peaceful and soothing (raspberry and orchid)
Waterfall (light blue) - Fresh and revitalising (citrus and ginger)
Tropics (yellow)- Stimulating and exotic (passion fruit and mango)
Amazon for men (green)-Powerful and alluring (bergamot and peppermint)
Previous scents I have tried aloha and some form of garden can't quite remember what the scent was but it was very pleasant too.
I would and do buy these again they are even good when making Christmas packaged for example a mystique shower and liquid soap plus an Avon large bubble bath make a lovely little gift for you secret Santa or your mother in law if you have one.
Last year for my birthday I received a big box of various Avon items from my friend. Whilst this was a very nice thought on her part, it came as no surprise to me as she is an Avon Rep so I'm pretty much guaranteed something from Avon on these occasions.
One of the items in my birthday parcel was this shower gel - 'Mystique' which is part of the popular Senses range.
As I have just used the last of the shower gel in the past few days here is my thoughts on the product..
The shower gel comes housed in a generic looking plastic bottle which is upright standing. It has a flat appearance from the front, whilst the side view shows it is quite slimline. Apart from the fact it has a very slight curve to the design there is nothing overly exciting about the bottle. It's saving grace I suppose is the fact the plastic is transparent so the contents can be clearly seen.
To access the shower gel there is a simple enough to use flip open/close lid that is placed directly on top of the bottle. This opens to the side and is very easy to do so, and also has a satisfying 'click' when closing to ensure no spillages.
The size I received is a 250ml bottle though having looked in a recent Avon brochure it seems to be only available in the larger size of 500ml, and if interested in trying currently costs £3.
My experience of using this~
I have to admit this is the first time I have actually tried any of the Senses shower gels from Avon as at the risk of sounding shallow; the packaging is rather off putting. What I mean by this is it has a real 'cheap and nasty' look to it that doesn't exactly enamor itself. It has tacky looking images on the front of the packaging which just doesn't justify the product. Having got this as a gift I was certainly going to use it as I'm not ungrateful so put it on my bathroom shelf ready for usage.
On opening the bottle you get such a pretty floral scent emanating from the contents that makes me think of a bouquet of flowers. To me it had a real rose based scent and having looked in a recent Avon brochure it does indeed give this as being a rose and jasmine fragranced shower gel.
On squeezing the gel out I notice it has a fairly thick consistency, whilst the texture is typical of a shower gel. The colouring of the product is a deep and dusky pink which suits the whole rose and jasmine scent.
Using the shower gel is actually a real pleasure. A small 10p coin sized blob seemed enough to suffice cleansing my entire body. This may be a gel but on contact with water it turns into a creamy mass of rose & jasmine scented bubbles which cleansed my skin perfectly.
Would I recommend this?~
This is actually a lot nicer than I first anticipated and I am truly disappointed that I haven't tried it sooner. The main reason as mentioned is the packaging really doesn't do itself any favours as it just looks very cheap as though it wont lather very well. This is quite the opposite and I found it to be one of the nicest shower gels I have tried in quite a while as it cleansed my skin, left it beautifully scented (and my bathroom) and didn't cause any rashes etc. Although it's not aimed at being moisturising, I found it left my skin feeling very soft and not at all taut as some products can. I have used body lotions after using this but feel confident enough that if I didn't my skin would still feel soft.
My husband remarked on how nice this smells when I used it recently so coming from him that's a recommendation in itself! This is classed as sensual & romantic and given the beautiful floral scent I'm not surprised.
I have been so impressed by this that I intend to order other fragrances in the Senses range as it's a very good product indeed.
Available from your local Rep or online at www.avonshop.co.uk
I have recently tried out the Avon Senses Mystique shower gel and this is my review.
I actually won the |Avon Mystique shower gel in a raffle I had taken part in for Breast cancer care. All of the gifts were put into pink coloured gift bags and in the bag I won it had a few toiletry items and the Avon Senses Mystique shower gel was one of them. I looked up the price of this shower gel on the internet though in case anybody would like to buy it and I saw it for sale on the Avon website for £2.
I use Avon products a lot but had not tried out this shower gel before so I was pleased I was getting to try it out for free! The bottle of Mystique shower gel is very nice looking and I like how it is a pretty pink colour and is quite feminine. It is a plastic bottle with a plastic lid that can be flipped open and you can squeeze the shower gel out from the flip open top.
The bottle is the same design as other items in the Avon senses range of products which is a range I use quite a lot. The Avon Mystique shower gel is got the description on the front as being 'Sensual & Romantic' and the picture on the front of the bottle on the label is all shades of pink with black detail and I can see there is a little image of the Eiffel tower on the label in the background which I suppose is meant to reinforce this image of the shower gel being romantic.
The bottle is 250ml in size which I think is a good size for the price it is charged at. Sometimes Avon do their products in different sizes but I am not sure if this shower gel is one that you can buy in different sized bottles as I do not have the Avon catalogue to hand.
The shower gel is very thick so I do not think you need to use to much of it to get a nice amount of soapy bubbles or lather on your skin. Because only a 50 pence piece sized blob is enough for me to use it means that the bottle lasts me quite a long time. The shower gel is thick enough that it does not run all over the place when you try and pour it into your hand which I like as it causes less mess.
I have also poured some of the Avon Senses Mystique shower gel under a hot running tap in my bath instead of using a bubble bath product. The lagoon shower gel made a nice amount of bubbles and made my bath very pleasant so the product can be used in the bath as well as the shower which I like as I sometimes don't have a bath lotion or bubble bath type product to hand so I like the fact that I can use some products for both baths and showers if I want to.
The smell of the Avon Senses Mystique shower gel is very nice and I thought it was a nice product to use. It is a very fresh smell and I thought it was a kind of sweet smell although a little fruity to. The smell lasts on my skin for quite a while after my shower or bath and I like how it does this because I like the smell of the liquid. I would not think that any men would like the smell to much as I thought it was quite a girly smell and also the colour of the bottle is bright pink and so I do not think it is meant to be a uni-sex product but is aimed at females.
I would suggest giving the Avon Senses Mystique shower gel a try out and I have almost used up my bottle cos I have been using it so much. I will be buying it for myself in the New Year and I would think that most girls would like the smell of the fragrance of the shower gel as well as it being a good quality product that would make a nice gift for somebody at Christmas.
This shower gel can be bought from Avon, through either your representative, or via the Avon website, or it is sometimes available to buy online. It is available in two different sizes, a 250ml bottle which normally costs £2 and a 500ml bottle which normally costs £3.
Although these are the prices which are stated in the brochures as being the 'normal prices', in my experience they are normally on offer. For example, in the current brochure (campaign 2), the 250ml bottle is reduced to 75p and the 500ml bottle is reduced to £1.50.
Mystique is also available in a similar form, as a 300ml liquid soap bottle which is stated as normally being £2 and which in brochure 2 will be £1.
The bottle is a dark crimson pink colour and looks very romantic. Mystique is actually described on the bottle as being 'sensual and romantic' and I think the design lives up to this. There is an image of a street lamp and the Eiffel tower behind it on the bottle.
The two main flavours that feature in this shower gel are jasmine and rose. Although this is not my favourite combination from the Avon Senses range, I do like it.
The shower gel builds up into a nice soapy lather in the shower and I think it cleanses really well. It isn't too expensive and I like using it so I would recommend it.
I am very much a soap and water person when it comes to showering, however whenever someone gives me gifts of showery stuff, I will generally make use of them, as a change from the soap. SOme shower gels in my past experience have not felt as cleansing as others, however any of the Avon shower gels that I have tried, I have always liked, and this one is no exception.
This Avon Senses Mystique shower gel is available for £2, or as part of a deal of 5 shower gels for £5 at present. This was given to me as a gift by someone who frequently purchases avon products. THe bottle itslef is a pinky/reddy colour, with a picture of a misty lamp post, with what looks to be the eiffel tower int he background. It states on the front label of the product, that this shower gel is 'sensual and romantic'. It comes as a 250ml bottle.
The lid itself is easy to open, and I think the shower gel always has a very strawberry scent to it. I don't actually know if it is meant to resemble strawberries, but it is very sweet and feminine. WHen using it, I find that it lathers on the skin well, and leaves my skin feeling clean, but also smelling very nice even for a few hours after using, which not all shower gels do.
The price of avon products is quite competitive, especially when you are getting a deal on items. Over the years whn Ihave rived avon products, I have always felt that they have ben good quality, and this particular shower gel is no exception. In fact, of all the shower gels that I have previously tried from this is one of my favourite, because it lingers for so long on the skin afterwards.
