As many of you know by now I'm an avon rep so tend to buy a lot of products from the catalogue taking advantage of my 25% commission. One of my favourite regular avon products is the senses shower gel range. These are a range of different scented shower gels for people on a budget. There are 2 different size bottles to choose from, 250ml and 500ml, sometimes they sell a few in 750ml bottle but only now and again. The rrp for the 250ml bottle is £2 but can often be bought on offer for 99p or any 5 for £5 so of course it makes sense to stock up when there's an offer on at half the rrp. The 500ml bottle is £3 rrp but usually on offer for around £2. I tend to stock up with the 250ml bottles when on offer and get a few different scents to use. In my current brochure there are 6 different scents to choose from including mystique, tropics, lagoon, reflection, citrus burst and passion. In the mens section of the catalogue there are 3 scents available including xtreme, amazon and fever. I think that some of the scents can be unisex though, mainly lagoon as I don't think it smells very feminine nor manly and I have a few customers who stock up on this scent for the whole family to use. Avon regularly bring out new scents and at Christmas time they bring out a winter one, this year it will be called dazzling and is gold amber and tuberose scented. They also have a senses liquid soap range which are the same scents as the shower gels. The things I like about the bottle is that it is clear so you can see how much product is left, the design is simple with a label on the front stating which scent it is and each scent has a different background picture on the sticker. Even though it's a budget shower gel it doesn't look it and I wouldn't be embarrassed to have it on display in my bathroom where as I would prefer to hide away really cheap supermarket brands more so. Each scent has a different coloured lid which I really like so if family members prefer different scents they're easier to spot in the bathroom without having to read the labels and of course these make it a lot easier for me to find the right shower gel when I'm sorting out the products when I get my avon delivery. The flip top is very easy to open and close. The disadvantages to the bottle is that the lid is skinnier than the actual bottle so when I'm running out of product I cant just leave the bottle stood upside down to let the product slide down so its easier to get out the rest of the product the next time I have a shower as the bottle keeps toppling over. It would be easier to grip the bottle if it had a slight curve in the middle to avoid it sliding out of my hands but the edges are slightly squared off which does help grip it a bit better. Most of the scents are quite fruity, my favourite currently is citrus burst which is citrus, mandarin and grapefruit but they do have some more relaxing scents if you don't like fruity ones. Each scent is different coloured shower gel, the citrus burst is very vibrant green. They smell lovely and refreshing and you can smell it as soon as you open the lid. The main reason I use the senses shower gels are that I don't like the feeling of shower creams, I feel like they don't clean my skin enough and feel as though I'm just adding extra product on top of my skin rather than washing any off, these shower gels do the complete opposite. I only use a tiny amount and massage it into my skin easily and it lathers up instantly. You can smell the product and I feel like it cleans my skin thoroughly. The product feels light and refreshing as if there isn't too many chemicals in it as it isn't harsh on my skin and doesn't dry it out at all. The shower gel rinses off my skin easily without leaving any product on me. After showering my skin feels nice and soft and there's a nice light scent left which is lovely as I don't like overpowering scented shower gels as I don't want the scent to mix with my perfume. One bottle can last me around one month even using it daily as you only need a tiny amount. This is a very popular product amongst my customers and I sell at least 10/20 bottles each brochure.
As my Nanna is an Avon lady, I tend to get a range of bath and shower products for my birthdays and Christmas. One of the newer things I have received is the Avon Senses Seventh Heaven Dreamy Shower Gel. This product can be found through an Avon representative or from the Avon website. For a 500ml bottle this will set you back £3 although it is often on offer for £1.50. The shower gel comes in a pretty basic bottle which has slight curves to the edges. There is a large lid at the top in a bright pink colour. Although the lid is large, it only has a small flip top part right at the top which reveals the smallest of holes for the liquid to come out of. I think that the lid of this bottle could have been better designed for ease of use. As this shower gel is called Seventh Heaven, the bottle also has a picture of a really pretty pink sea that looks really calming and pretty. The main ingredients that affect the scent of this product are Rose, Peony and Musk and this is stated on the front of the bottle. Inside the bottle you can see the soft pink coloured shower gel which matches the packaging really well. As soon as you flip up the lid and have a quick sniff, there is a lovely, fresh but feminine scent that comes out at you. I was looking forward to using this based off of the scent that comes out of the bottle before even using the shower gel. However, once being used in the shower, I wasn't as impressed. The shower gel doesn't lather up too well and you need to use quite a lot on a fluff ball which means the bottle doesn't last as long as it could. Also, the scent that I loved in the first place is quite non-existent once the gel gets warm. With other shower gels I own, the bathroom (and me) keep the scent for quite a while after a shower but I couldn't even smell this one whilst I was using it which is a real shame. But, there are some going points too. The shower gel is really soft and does make my skin feel nice after using it. Even though I come out of the shower with my skin not smelling of much, my skin feels soft, smooth and moisturised. I definitely wouldn't pay full price for this shower gel but I wouldn't mind getting it again as a gift or paying the reduced price. *This review will also be posted on my blog and other sites*
A local Avon representative has been leaving the Avon catalogue on the door step for around 12 months now. I really like Avon products and have not purchased a product that I have been disappointed with, I find that their pricing accurately reflects the quality of the products. This review will focus on the Avon senses shower gel and in particular the 'Lagoon' one in general. **What is it?** The product is Avon's own brand 'senses'. This range incorporates a shower gel for men, mystique, reflection, serenity, spirit, tropics, waterfall and love with the latter ones being aimed primarily at women. The shower gels come in 150ml bottles and the bigger version of 250ml bottles. I chose the 150ml bottle as I wasn't sure that I would enjoy the 'lagoon' scent and wished to try the others in the range after a while as I like to mix it up a bit. **Packaging** My shower gel came in a plastic squeezy bottle. A sticker covers most of the bottle which says 'senses' and has a sereen picture of a lagoon (obviously!). The small opening at the top of the bottle allows just a small amount of product to be dispensed at any one time meaning that no product is wasted and there is minimal mess. On the back of the product is the ingredients and directions for use in which I am told that this product has been dermalogically tested which is always an advantage. **Scent** The smell is the best part about this product - it is an exotic smell which isn't fruity but isn't bland or sweet either. It is the perfect blend of the 'holiday' smell and a fresh, clean smell. It is a little disappointing that the smell does not stay on the body after use but only for around half an hour prior to washing. I usually expect the shower gel's scent to still be identifiable long after bathing so I'd say this is a slight disadvantage to the product for my taste. **Use** Using the product is very easy, you simply squeeze out some of the product onto a sponge of flannel and mix it with warm water and it lathers up really quickly into scented, soft yet foamy bubbles which can then be transferred onto the skin. I often use shower gel as an alternative to shaving foam and find that it leaves my skin incredibly smooth and hydrated, this is probably due to the Vitamin E that is infused in it. Overall I would recommend this product as a very cheap but great smelling shower gel. It is curently on offer for just £1!
The review I am doing is for Avon senses reflection the "peaceful and soothing" *The bottle* The bottle is purple from the shower gel inside with a purple cap. The design of the bottle is very different and sleek and has a swirly bend down the side, the cap has a flick lid which can be very hard to open with wet hands in the shower. It is two pounds for 250ml and around 3 pounds for the bigger 500ml bottle so it is worth buying in bigger bottles! The bottle has a unique design and doesn't look as cheap as it is! *The Gel* The gel isn't as runny as over brands so its easy not too waste any which is always good, the gel as a strong fruity blackcurrent and raspberry smell, it lathers in really easily and you can still smell the fruity smell after washing it off about 3 hours later, I agree with the bottle as it is really soothing on the skin! *Overall* A cheap, nice smelling shower gel with bright colours and funky bottle, you can get around 10 others variations of this product and I would certainly recommend these!
I suddenly have an Avon rep in my area and so have had a couple of catalogues to browse through. I didn't think there would be anything I wanted to purchase without actually seeing the product first but I was surprised by how much I was interested in and how good the prices were. I decided to start trying some of the lower cost items to see what the quality is like. They have a range of shower gels called the 'senses' range which come in nice bright colours (ie purple, red. blue etc) and come in 2 bottle sizes - 250ml and 500ml. The prices vary depending on which catalogue campaign they are on. At the time of my purchase the larger bottle (500ml) was on offer at £1.50 which is half price. I put in my order and decided to see how I got on. It does take a while for the rep to deliver the order so if you want it in the next couple of days you would probably be better ordering from the Avon website rather than through a rep although then you would have the added postal costs. It was a nice surprise when the package arrived and looked like a good amount of shower gel for the money. I chose the blue colour (to match my bathroom) This is called Lagoon and is supposed to be clean and refreshing. I like the smell and feel that it goes quite a long way. I will definately use again although will probably try all the different colours and smells to see which I prefer.
I am a new Avon representative and generally spend a lot of time browsing through the brochures - one thing I seem to buy nearly every campaign is the senses shower gel. It comes in 2 sizes 250ml (£2 at full price) and 500ml (£3 at full price) however they are generally on offer and work out much cheaper. Currently the 'new' 250ml are 99p with the older fragrances at 2 for £2.50 (whether you buy the 250ml or 500ml - therefore I have ordered 6 of these in 500ml equating to £1.25 each) I have tried many of the fragrances in the range which has new ones added regularly. At the moment there are 11 in the range (4 of which are new) 1. Tropics 2. Sunset 3. Lagoon 4. Oasis 5. Reflection 6. Mystique 7. Amazon (specifically for men) 8. Water babe (new) 9. Sun goddess (new) 10. Lazy daze (new) 11. Beach party (new) I decided to write this review after using one of the newer products beach party this morning and being utterly impressed I wanted to share it with everyone... I always find these shower gels to be of a good quality, which lather up really well and always have a really good scent which are meant to arouse all your senses! The beach party (only available in 250ml) is in a lemony coloured bottle with the same coloured liquid. As a shower gel I am impressed as always with its viscosity and lathering skills meaning it lasts a long time but was especially pleased with its scent - the strong aroma of pineapples entered my nose with undertones of coconut and 'holiday'. It is meant to be 'fun and enticing' and felt like I was washing in a pina colada - it made me smile, made me clean and feel fresh. Recommended? I would highly recommend any of the senses range - they are a good price, there is a huge variety and great shower gels. (Available from Avon via a representative or online) A Yummy showering experience to entice your senses!
Usually I only flick through the Avon brochure very quickly, I admit that a lot of the time I like looking at the pictures and thinking "god I wish I look like that!!" Although on this occassion there was actually a sale on and I simply couldn't be bothered to go up the road and get some more shower gel. Not when you could get a big bottle for a reasonable price delivered to your door. It only cost me £1.50 and that was for 500ml, so I was glad I spotted it when I did. Prices can vary, at the moment I believe them to be £3 for the larger and £2 for the 250ml smaller version. I've noticed with Avon that sometimes when something's on sale, you might end up paying the full price if the people coming to your door are late collecting your order. The fragrances you can choose from are Mystique, Sunset, Amazon, Oasis, Tropics, Reflection and Lagoon. Personally I prefer the Mystique one. The actual shower gel comes in a clear bottle with a lid which is the same colour as the gel. Generally the colours seem to represent what the name of the product is called. Mystique is a dark pink, Lagoon is turquoise whilst Sunset is orange. That sort of thing. The gel, although runny looks slightly sticky as well. If you were to tip the bottle from side to side you can see that it seems to be (for want of a better word) a bit gloopy! This isn't what it's like when you use it. This does actually last quite a long time. It lathers up quickly so you don't really need that much unless you want lots and lots of bubbles. However it does come out of the bottle quite quickly so you have to be a bit careful that it doesn't spill everywhere. The lid is a flip style one, although if your hands are wet it can be a bit difficult to get open due to how small the clasp is. The mystique one has a sweet fragrance to it, but it can be a bit overpowering if you use too much-a bit musky smelling. It can make your bathroom smell lovely afterwards though. This is a cheap product for what you're getting. It works well and is able to moisturise your skin with a small amount so it lasts a while and doesn't leave a sticky feeling either. Something which I'd recommend you to keep an eye out for. Generally it is on sale with every new brochure you get.
I have mentioned in other reviews that I am a big fan of Avon products. This is yet another product that I love and I think is a bargain. The Avon senses shower gel comes in two bottle sizes which are the 250ml and the 500ml. At the moment for the 250 ml it is priced at £2.00 and amazingly the 500ml is priced at £2.00 as well. But normally the 500ml would be priced at £3.00 but is on offer. I find there is normally always a deal on with Avon body products for example At the moment on selected body and bath products you can buy four products for £5.00 the 250 ml shower gel is included in this deal. The shower gel comes in lots of different scents which include: Tropics, Reflection, Wonderland, Carnival, Sunset, Mystique, Lagoon and many more. There are also other products in the senses range which includes the liquid soap and body scrub which have similar scents and are for a similar price. The bottles are all very bright and the lid colour of the bottle matches the colour of the shower gel inside. The lids are very simple with a small lid on top that you can lift up when you are using it. A very simple bottle but is does what it needs to. The instructions for the shower gel are very simple when you are in the shower you just lather the gel into your body then rinse off. As I have mentioned before I used to be an Avon rep and this is another product that I used to spend my commission on. I had quite a lot of different bottles when I used to get them my husband used to say surely we have enough now. But I couldn't help myself as a lot of the time I got them when they were on offer some were only 80p what a bargain. Now there is no one near me who does Avon so I have found that my stock of them is going down so I may have to get some more online. I like the way the there is different scents and bottles for different moods even the shower gel colour matches the mood. For example reflection is peaceful and soothing and mystique is sensual and romantic and the shower gel is a lovely warm red. My two favourites shower gels have to be the Senses sunset shower gel which contains vitamin E and it claims to leave your skin smooth and moisturised and it definitely done this for me. I also like the spring sensation which is scented as grapefruit and orange blossom. The shower gel is a lovely lime green colour and the scent is gorgeous when ever I use it I always smell fresh and clean. I find that all the shower gels do smell different and have there own unique smell so I do like to try different ones to see which ones I like. I find that I get through the bottles quite quick but that is because I'm always using them. I definitely recommend this product.
I have been using the Avon senses shower gel for many years now pretty much since it was first introduced. Embarassingly the reason I first picked it was because one of the bottles match my bathroom tiles. This shower gel comes in 6 different fragrances including summer burst, tropics and wonderland. They come in two different sizes 250ml and 500ml. I have tried all of the different fragrances and have liked them all. The gel itself is a nice thick consistancy and only a small blob on your pouffe produces a lot of bubbles so you only need a small amount to completely cover your body. They are PH balanced and contain vitamin E so nourish and moisturise your body. After drying your skin feels lovely and soft and not dry or greasy like other shower gels can leave you. I really like the design of the bottles and labels when they first come out, they looked fresh and modern. They have in the last couple of months re labelled them and I am not so keen on the design and I feel it looks a little dated. One of the best things about these shower gels is their price. They are normally £2 for the 250ml version but they are always on offer and I don't think I have ever bought them full price. Just checked the Avon website and at the moment they are on buy 5 for £5 so half price.
The Avon Senses Shower Gel range is extremely popular as a family household basic. These are suitable for everyday use and there are always scents on offer that will suit the whole family. The shower gels presently included in this range are: Amazon, suitable for men, Sunset, zesty and energising, Mystique, romantic and sensual, Tropics, exotic, Lagoon, clean and refreshing and Reflection, peaceful and soothing. Most of these options also come in complimentary liquid soaps and body scrubs. You can purchase either a 250ml bottle for £2 or a 500ml bottle for £3 which is very competitive given that you easily pay £2.50 for a 250ml bottle of good quality shower gel in the supermarkets. The 500ml bottles are particularly suited for family use as they represent very good value for money at 60p per 100ml. In brochure 14 there is a special end of summer sale on that includes the 250ml shower gels for just £1.50 each and they 500ml shower gels for only £2.25. There are also two discontinued 500ml Senses shower gels in the sale supplement for an amazing £1.75 each! These products are all pH balanced and designed to both cleanse and moisturise your skin. I have used most of this range at some point or other during my career (though admittedly the names do change most years!) and I have enjoyed good results with each and every one. My particular favourites in this range are Mystique and Zesty though I do also like Tropics quite a bit too.
Choosing to shower most days I get through tons of shower gel. At least one bottle a week cos I'm so heavy handed to be honest. I never know what to order from Avon as I'm just not keen on the products but I do like my rep, Anita and cos I like her I feel obliged to buy something. I always make small orders just to keep her coming really cos she's so nice lol. Well last week was odd. I made a few small purchases from the catalogue and when she came to give me my order she handed me this product I'm reviewing explaining that she had it in her cupboard from Christmas and had never used it so I could have it! Chuffed I was. I like my freebies! (although a few months old it kept ok!) The Product.... Avon Sense 'Winter Warmth' Shower Gel. Now at this point I will point out that this is a Christmas product offered by Avon. It's been on sale past couple of years so if you read this review at Christmas time it may be of interest however I'm reviewing the shower gel as a product anyway. It's on sale at the moment in 5 different fragrances (not this one of course being July!) offering different fragrances. With this range one's are added and taken away or repackaged quite often. They are all available in 250ml or 500ml sizes (mine is the larger one). All are clear bottles that on the front simply tell you who it is by and what it is and the size. It has a flip top lid that colour co ordinates with the labelling. The back label tells me nothing cos its all in foreign languages apart from one line telling me ' Activate your senses with the exhilarating scents of winter warmth'. Then at the bottom of the label there is a list of ingredients, a recycle symbol, and told it's Avon. As you use the bottle, using some of the liquid there is a picture displayed within the bottle which is on the back label on the inside sort of thing! lol It has a plastic flip top lid and small hole to dispense the product from underneath that situated at the top of the bottle. Using It.... Well no instructions are given lol I assume you use it the same as any shower gel! Wipe or scrub (if your a mucky pup) over your body with a scrunchy, sponge, flannel or hand. So smell wise my one is very christmasy! It's orange in colour and transparent and smells very much or oranges and cinnamon, sweet and very, very highly fragranced but really nice. My preferred method of using any shower gel is using my trusted scrunchy so I get a bit of exfoliating happening with my cleaning. To wash my whole body and shave my legs and bits and bobs I find about the size of a 10p piece of this runny liquid is more than enough. It goes from a transparent orange looking liquid to big white thick bubbles in seconds. It feels great on the skin and glides over it easily. None sticky and none drying out it's ok for shaving with but this I find a bit more difficult because I feel the thickness of the bubbles are not as good as they appear to be and are just not rich enough and you have to be careful doing this and give it some thought or face ripping yourself apart. The smell is strong as you wash and from past experience of using other shower gels in the range they all are. It rinses off easy and quickly with no residue left behind and skin feels ok. The Results.... Well the smell on skin calms down rather quickly which with this fragrance I'm very glad of because of the initial strongness of it. Sadly though this becomes a bit of a let down after drying off. It doesn't particularly hydrate skin though to be fair it doesn't dry it out either (in my experience). Although you smell fresh for a while I don't feel particularly clean after using this either. Not that I smell or anything (well no worse than usual lol!) but I just don't feel that clean really though I probably am. I'd like my skin to feel a bit more moisturised. My Verdict.... I think maybe I've been really spoilt with the shower products I usually buy. Sure I do pay a hell of a lot more than this as the norm and this is real value in comparison but it doesn't give me a bit of luxury or any little benefits. This is an economy product suitable for everyone who uses the bathroom and for every day use. Me, I'll be sticking to paying a lot more fore my nicer products unless I ever have to watch my pennies. I don't have any real argument against the product it's ok as I say for every day, cheap and cheerful use but I'm sure no one would say wow this is the best shower gel I've ever used! Probably the most economical to buy though as a 500ml bottle lasted me 6 weeks and it stores forever! I couldn't use and get rid of the stuff to the point I was fed up of using it but now I'm back to my Soap & Glory days and my skin is back to impeccably great and soft once again proving to me this really isn't that great! I won't be going back to economy! There's a huge difference and I value my skin! Only available from Avon. Normal prices are £2.00 for the 250ml and £3.00 for the 500ml sizes. Usually on an offer of some kind so watch out for those if interesting in purchasing these gels. No matter what else they are economical products and according to the Avon website they are all ph balanced so shouldn't give any skin problems. The fragrances have now just been changed to Reflection, Mystique, Tropics, Sunset and Amazon and in many cases matching body scrub, and liquid soaps are also available in this range.
I have used both the Avon Senses Bubble Bath, and the Liquid Soap in the past, and I thought they were both good - especially the Liquid Soap, which is probably my favourite hand wash. I was really looking forward to trying the Avon Senses Shower Gel, so ordered myself a bottle. ~About the Product~ Senses is a range by Avon which includes products such as shower gels, body scrubs and bubble baths in a variety of fragrances. I believe the range of fragrances on offer have recently changed, but the one I have is called 'Be Radiant' and is rice milk and lotus flower fragranced. ~Packaging~ The shower gel comes in a clear bottle through which you can see the pale pink gel. It has a sticker on the back, which has a picture of a pink flower, which you can see through the gel, and is a nice touch. The gel has a flip-top, which opens from the side, and I sometimes find it a little bit difficult to open, because it can be a bit stiff. ~Using it~ The first thing I noticed about the shower gel is that it was fairly runny. Before I was using this, I was using Soap & Glory Clean on Me which is quite thick, so I thought I was perhaps just comparing it to that a bit too much. I have found though, that the thin, runny consistency was a bit of a problem. The gel seems to run off the skin and doesn't make any kind of lather. Also, I tend to use shower gel for shaving my legs, but this wasn't really suitable, because it didn't stay on my skin for long enough, or make any foam. The smell of the shower gel is quite nice. It has a very gentle, floral smell, which is fresh but also quite feminine. The problem with the scent is that it is not particularly strong so even when using it you can hardly smell it, unless you bring it right up to your nose. ~Results~ Well it definitely gets you clean, and it doesn't dry out or irritate my sensitive skin, which is obviously a bonus. You do not notice the smell on your skin after use, which is a shame, as it does smell lovely. ~Price~ A 250ml bottle costs £2, and a 500ml bottle costs £3 from Avon. Visit www.avonshop.co.uk ~Conclusion~ This was OK, but I didn't like the watery, runny consistency of it, as it didn't feel very luxurious to use. It's also quite disappointing that the smell doesn't linger on your skin, but then again it's fairly cheap for the size of the bottle (I have the 500ml one), so maybe I shouldn't have expected too much. All I would say, is if you have bought the hand wash and loved it, and are thinking of trying this, then be warned, it is nowhere near as good.
I have just had a shower in my favourite shower gel, Avon Senses. I am using the Romantic Kiss bottle today because it is sunny outside and I am in the mood for flowery perfumes. Avon Senses shower gel comes in a pink 250ml bottle that is see through so you can see the shower gel inside. They have decorated the back of the curvy oblong bottle with a hearts and flowers design that matches the small silver heart on the front. It is called Romantic Kiss and it looks like a lot of thought has gone into the bottle to make it look romantic. The bottle has a flip top lid that is very easy to open even with one hand but not so easy that the lid flies open every time I drop the bottle in the shower. The lid is pink and matches well the colour of the shower gel and the whole bottle design. I love the smell of Romantic Kiss because it is pretty and floral. It says on the bottle that this is a magnolia and jasmine shower gel and I can smell the jasmine a little bit and it gives it quite a heady aroma that smells much posher than the rest of the Senses shower gels. I cannot smell the magnolia but there is a lovely general scent of flowers under the jasmine. It also smells quite sweet and reminds me of the Impulse body sprays. I use a natural sponge in the shower and I think this makes my Senses shower gel lather much better than if I just washed myself using my hands. It is a quite thin gel and comes out of the bottle very easily but does not come out too quickly so that I lose most of it in the shower. It has a nice texture while it is still gel and it lathers up very well on my sponge. The lather is thick and creamy and quite rich considering this is a cheap Avon shower gel. It made my skin feel very clean after I had used it and left me subtly perfumed with this lovely floral fragrance. Avon Senses shower gels always dry out my skin but then my skin is so sensitive that most shower gels I have tried make my skin dry so it is not a problem because I always slather myself in a rich body moisturiser or baby oil after I shower. It does not make my skin any dryer than it was before I got in the shower but there does not seem to be any moisturising ability at all in Romantic Kiss. I do like that my skin smells of the floral fragrance for quite a long time after I have got out of the shower and if I use an unfragranced moisturiser then I can still smell it for a while. It also leaves me with a nice clean scent which I like because it is that just showered smell and makes me feel very clean through the day. Avon Senses is available in 6 other fragrances and they all will do something different for you. The purple one is relaxing, the orange one will wake you up and this one is supposed to be sensual. Now, I think I am a bit old for sensuality but it is definitely nice and musky and I can see what they were trying to do. The other varieties are:- Divine Time Get Ready My Moment On Power (this is the mens Senses shower gel) Re-charge Spring Sensation The price for a 250ml bottle is usually £1. 60 or you can buy the bigger 500ml bottle for £3. You can buy it from your Avon lady or direct from the Avon website but I think you are better to buy from the Avon lady if you can find one because you do not have to pay the delivery charge. Also keep an eye out on the special offers and stock up then because Senses is on offer very regularly and at the moment I think it is on buy any 3 for £4 which is quite a good saving although I have seen it even cheaper at times.
Every Christmas my Auntie always seem to stock up on Avon products and then distribute them out as "extra presents" to the whole family. This year was no different and saw my family receiving shower gels, two per family member so she'd obviously made some mass saving on them! I tend to just buy whatever is cheapest or on offer in the supermarket so these made for quite a refreshing change. The Brand Most of you will have heard of Avon but for those of you that haven't it was set up back in 1886 when an American businessman decided to sell perfumes door to door. The company then grew and the Avon name was coined in 1939 before it arrived over in the UK in 1959. Sadly Avon isn't available to buy in shops which they argue keeps their prices lower. Instead you can order it through their catalogue which is hand delivered to the majority of areas in the UK or alternatively off their online shopping site www.avonshop.co.uk. The Product The shower gel comes in a clear plastic bottle which is intensified somewhat by the brightly coloured shower gel inside. There's a flip open lid which is a similar colour to the shower gel and means that it's easy to dispense the product while standing in the shower with wet hands! The shower gel can easily stand upright on any surface and although the packaging isn't the most expensive looking it certainly does the job. The Senses Shower Gel comes in five different scents: Divine Time (deep pink colour) Fantastic Day (lime green colour) Get Ready (aqua blue colour) My Moment (deep purple colour) Re-Charge (bright orange colour) The particular shower gel I'm reviewing is the Re-Charge orange one. The consistency is quite similar to any other shower gel and similar to that of a shampoo. The smell is lovely and really invigorating, with strong hints of both mandarin and oranges. It is quite sweet and although not overly strong it does create quite a lasting scent in the shower that can still be smelt even when I've got out and turned the water off. I find the best way to use this shower gels is either with a sponge of some sort, I tend to squeeze a small amount onto a sponge and find it really lathers up. I use about a three pea sized amount and find this adequately washes my whole body and lathers up really well. There is nothing worse than a shower gel that just doesn't lather and I can thankfully say with this one you get a large amount of lather! My Opinion The shower gel comes in both a 250ml and a 500ml size; I've been using my second 250ml bottle for about three weeks now and find it lasts about a month when used on a daily basis which isn't bad really. A 250ml bottle is priced at £1.60 and a 500ml bottle is priced at £3.00 although currently there is 50% off the 500ml bottle which makes it an absolute bargain. When you consider other brands of shower gels such as Dove retailing at between £2 and £3 for 250ml you'll see these are quite reasonable. I've already placed an order in my Avon catalogue for another 2 bottles of the 500ml shower gel, especially while it's at such a bargain price. I've tried both the Fantastic Day and the Re-Charge versions and found them both to have really lovely scents and to lather up well. My skin's been left smelling very faintly of the shower gel and quite soft as well whenever I've used them so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone - especially when they're on one of Avon's frequently good value offers! Thanks for reading.
Avon goes all the way back to 1886 when an American Businessman David McConnell thought it would be a good idea to sell perfumes door to door. Originally known as the Calafornian Perfume Company, the company saw the name change in 1939 to Avon and enter the UK in 1959. Today Avon is an extremely reputable and one of the leading beauty brands in the UK market. We are all familiar with Avon and more than likely most people still get a catalogue pushed through their doors from time to time. I don't spend a great deal from Avon, because personally my tastes for the likes of cosmetics and a lot higher than what Avon has to offer, but for the likes of bath products I do like to keep stocked up and use the Avon Senses range. Relatively new to Avon, probably been in the catalogue for about two years now, the Senses range comprises of shower gel, body scrub, bath foam and hand wash. The used to do a soap bar which was fabulous but was discontinued after a very short time. The Avon Senses Shower Gel comes in two different sizes 250ml and a 500ml and are very competitively priced and normally are on special offer within the catalogue on a regular basis. Normally on average you pay around £2 for a 500ml bottle. Available in various fragrances: Fantastic Day, Cool Rush, Divine Time, Re-Charge, Get Ready, My Moment, On Power for HIm and they currently have a special edition Winter Warmth fragrance which i am using at the moment. This is a spicy smell with a hint of cinnamon and takes me back to my childhood at Christmas but I can't seem to put my finger on what it reminds me of. The product itseldf comes in see through bottles and are of various colours with colour coded labels on them, quite attractive packaging to be honest, however basic. The whole range comes in very similar packaging and it is nice to use all products at the same time to complement each other. The Shower Gel is very good, a tiny bit only needs to be used to create a lather and the whole bottle lasts quite a few showers or baths. The consistency of the product is quite thin though and does come out pretty quickly and goes everywhere, that is the only downfall, that you drop most of it in the bath. The smell is fantastic of each and every one of them and leaves the bathroom smelling and landing smelling particularly nice for hours. I find when I use this my skin feels extremely soft when showering and does for hours but then again that the job that it is supposed to do. An extremely cheap product which is very good, may be worth adding a few on your order when your next Avon book comes through your door. Oh and by the way...there is one for you guys too, which also smells very pleasant and will keep you soft too. Avon isn't all for women you know. Gemma x
