"A stimulating and exotic body scrub"
I would have to agree with avons statement, this comes in a 200ml tube in lime green with a tropical scene on the front and a cap for opening at the bottom. This did sell for around £3 per tube but being avon I don't think I ever paid full price as there was always offers on.
The scrub itself is thick green with quite large exfoliating beads in it, the scent is really refreshing probably would descibe it as a citrus fragrance. The instructions tell you to massage it into damp skin and then rinse off. The outcome is lovely soft and refreshed skin, I had lots of small bumps to the back of my arms and this product has really helped to shift them.
You only need a small amount of the product and a tube really does last a fair time, the tube states that this is ok for 12 months so would be fine to be used occasionally.
I really do love this product and when I found it was being discontinued I bought what I could get my hands on - unfortunately I am on the last one now so will have to see what avon have replaced it with.
Avon are a popular cosmetics company that make and sell a huge range of beauty items. This body scrub is part of Avon's Senses range and is available to purchase via the catalogue or online at www.avonshop.co.uk. The RRP is £3.00 for a 200ml bottle. It comes in a large tube that is stored with the lid at the base so the product is easily extracted from the tube. The packaging is nice and attractive, with an overall bright green colour and a silhouetted image of a tropical retreat.
Avon describe this as being a "stimulating and exotic summer fragrance that will lift your senses and boost your inner smile every time you shower. Rediscover your senses with this tropical scent."
This body scrub has small bead-like granules suspended in a thin green liquid. It has a fake, synthetic smell with a hint of limes and citrus fruits. It's not too unpleasant though, and is quite refreshing when you need a pick-me-up and to re-energise.
Recommended directions for use: Massage into damp skin and rinse off.
I tried using as directed but on its own the body scrub is not particularly effective. It foams up and produces a reasonable lather, but it hardly exfoliates at all. I could barely feel the scrub working as I massaged it over my skin. I think it is a bit too gentle, although this could be helpful for those with sensitive skin.
I tried using it again another time, but I used it while wearing a pair of exfoliating gloves. I applied the scrub directly onto the glove and then rubbed onto my skin. It worked a charm! The gloves seemed to stimulate the lotion and it created a smooth bubbly lather and fely a lot more abrasive against my skin. I used this on my legs before shaving, and also over the backs of my arms where I tend to get little bumps of dry skin. It provided an invigorating and effective scrub, and was a lot more efficient than using the scrub on its own. My skin felt smoother and more polished, but it was dry and tight as soon as I stepped out of the water and I needed to use a good moisturising lotion afterwards.
This is a bargain beauty item but it's only really any good if you use it with the right bath accessory to provide a proper exfoliating boost. I was disappointed that this did not meet my expectations. I can make it work for now with the gloves but I don't think I would buy it again.
