“ Brand: Avon / Type: Body Scrub / Suitable for: Body / Skin type: for dry skin and for all types / What it does: Exfoliates, „
I'm a bit lazy when it comes to Shower Scrubs. I like to use them now and again but slack off a lot with them. i only use them a few times a month, but I wouldn't not like to use them, if that makes any sense.
This range from Avon hasn't been out that long. The normal Skin So Soft has been out for ages, but the Gold and Mineral Gems ones are quite new. I liked the marketing of these products, and also they were new and a good price so I bought this the same time I bought the Shower Cream.
The tube isn't like the Dooyoo picture. i would say that is more a picture of the Body Wash. This is in a tube which is wider at the top and gets a bit more thinner at the bottom. The lid is on the bottom, so you should get most of it out the tube with the way it stands. It is sturdy enough as well so won't topple over. Easy enough to open with wet hands as well. The colouring of the tube is an off white colour with the gold colouring on the front and back of the label.
This would normally cost £5 for the 200ml tube. I think I paid £1.80 for it, and it is part of a 3 for £5 offer just now.
This is quite thick a Cream. I don't use this on a Shower Puff due to the grit in this so a blob on the palm of my hands is ok. I use a decent sized blob and although i'm not at the end of the tube I would say this will definitely give at least 10 good sized blobs for a good body coverage.
You can feel the grains in this when you rub it into wet skin. It seems to be made up of lots of fine grains, but I like to feel that this is scrubbing away at the skin in a nice and gentle way.
This exfoliates well and leaves your skin feeling soft, moisturised and that bit scented. It is a nice creamy clean scend, and although not a scent like Dove, it is a creamy kind of similar scent, but there is a tiny bit musky Perfume scent in here as well.
A nice and luxurious smelling Scrub that is often on a good price. I will be buying it again.
I like to look after my skin and regularly use a body brush whilst showering to exfoliate and keep the dreaded C word at bay (cellulite). Once a week though I do like to use a body scrub and this relatively new offering from Avon sounded very tempting...
This scrub is part of the Skin So Soft range in Avon, so I knew I would probably like it having tried most of the other products in the range (and Avon for that matter..) and being quite impressed.
It is luxuriously titled Mineral Gems Glamorous Gold Body Scrub and comes housed in a plastic upright standing tube (as opposed to the picture above), and is predominantly white with golden lettering.
Accessing the scrub is relatively easy as there is a simple to open 'flip open' lid at the base. Closing the scrub is easy as there is a satisfying 'click' once the lid is pressed together with the tube which creates a secure fastening; so no messy spills of the product.
The actual scrub itself is actually very glamorous!
Once a small amount is squeezed out of the tube it's clear to see the consistency is thick yet quite runny at the same time, while the colouring is a creamy white that has has a pearl esque quality to it - I'm impressed so far.
Using this product is very simple as you apply a small amount to the palm of your hand and work into your skin in small circles.
The grains used - or should I say *Exfoliating Beads* - are very fine but course enough to make a difference to the skin when used.
I have been using this for several weeks now and the tube is almost empty but from my experience of this product I will definitely be restocking up on this.
A small amount is all that's needed to create super soft skin and it leaves a delicate fragrance behind, which is very reminiscent to me of the Rare Gold perfume that was a regular in the Avon brochures many moons ago.
Would I recommend this?
I think you know the answer to that question as it's a resolute Yes.
I have fairly sensitive skin and some Avon products in the past have not always been suitable for my skin type (mainly for my face though), though this caused no problems at all so it seems to be okay for sensitive skin.
I used this from the neck downwards and it gave just the right degree of abrasiveness to my skin, but I would not recommend it to be used on the face as as it is a little too course for that area.
This is available in the Avon brochures through your local rep or alternatively
check out www.avonshop.co.uk to order independently.
Like all avon's SSS range this isn't cheap and is approximately around the £5 mark (I'm not sure of the current mark up price) but avon regularly has offers and it can be purchased much cheaper (I got this on introductory offer of £2.25). It comes in one size which is a 200ml tube.
If you are after a new body scrub this really is worth giving a try as it leaves skin with a delicate shimmery effect, and feeling super soft.
