I am a massive fan of the Skin So Soft range from Avon and make no secret of this to my Mother in Law, who is an avon rep. For Christmas I always get a lovely bag of mixed toiletries and she always makes sure there is some SSS in there. I have just come to the end of yet another bottle of the creamy body wash which I use all the time both in the shower and bath.
I use this creamy body wash in both the shower and bath and it makes a really good bubble bath too, as well as a body wash. The bottle is 250ml in size and a pearly colour. Each bottle seems to last me ages and I always have a couple of spares in the surplus drawer in our bathroom. Scent wise, it is the same as the rest of the Skin So Soft range which is a feminine and light fragrance. I always feel really clean after using this product and enjoy using it in the shower with a foaming puff to make the most of the lather.
I do tend to receive this as a gift so don't buy it but I would if I didn't have any in. Full price, this is £3 but there is an offer on the SSS range at the moment (a Mother's day promotion) with four products for £5 which includes this body wash which is quite a bargain so it's worth waiting for a promotion.
The body wash has a secret ingredient in it which accounts for the super moisturising properties in this product. Argan Oil gives a softness delivery system and you really can tell the difference in your skin. I still like to moisturise after a bath but if I don't have time, this shower cream goes a long way to making my skin feel nice and soft and supple.
I will continue to use this product from Avon for as long as they continue to make it. It really is one of my favourites and I often choose this as my preferred body shower cream when we travel as it leaves my skin so soft and I find it works well in either a bath or a shower. The packaging has been updated to a more curvy bottle recently which will be a lot easier to hold, especially when slippery. I highly recommend this product and find it takes a lot to beat for the price it is excellent valye for money.
After trying out the Skin So Soft dry oil spray I decided to buy some more of the range of products when I next saw them on an offer and this was one of the ones I bought.
The product obviously is from Avon and you can buy out of a brochure from a rep or off the Avon website although you will pay for delivery if you spend under £20. A bottle of this product costs £3 but I bought an offer which was five of the products for £5 which makes it £1 a bottle which is fantastic value.
The packaging of the skin so soft range has now been changed although the bottle I have is like the one pictured the new bottle is white with pink writing and logo on it and it now opens at the bottle of the bottle so that the bottle stands on it's opening. On the back of the bottle you find a list of ingredients and a little symbol to tell you this product has a 12 month shelf life.
On opening the bottle you can smell the product and it has a lovely delicate smell to it but also has a little smell of baby products to me. I personally love the smell of the product and wish the smell would last on my skin a little longer than it does.
The liquid inside the bottle is white in colour and nice and creamy making you feel like it is a lovely luxurious product, I use the wash on a body puff as I have found these make your shower and bath products go further which is always a good idea. The product lathers well on the puff although I have had products which have lathered better so for all it lathers plenty for a wash it isn't the best of lathers.
The name of the this range of products is very apt in my opinion as after using this product my skin is left feeling lovely and silky smooth, the feeling lasts well too and it is even better when followed up with the dry oil spray although it would be better if I had the same fragrance in the two products. The only part of my body that this doesn't seem to soften is the heels of my feet where the skin is always hard and rough.
I will buy this product again and can say that I haven't found a bad product within the Skin so Soft range so am impressed with it all I will of course only buy it when on offer as even though I don't think it is a bad price to begin with if they can sell it at £1 a bottle then that is all I am prepared to pay.
---Why I Bought This---
I buy lots of Avon products and I bought a few of these Soft and Sensual body washes whenthey were on offer.
Avon has been making the Skin So Soft range for many years - firstly it was called Woodland Fresh in the 1960s and then this more feminine version was introduced.
Cream plastic bottle with flip lid in base.
250 mls of creamy body wash.
Skin So Soft with pink SSS on label and named as Soft & Sensual.
The back label gives a shelf life of 12 mnths once opened and it is made in Poland.
The top back label has to be peeled away to reveal the ingredients and instructions.
A long list of ingredients including castor and other oils.
About £3 each but were often on offer - I had 4 for £5.
I have always been a great fan of the original Skin So Soft Woodland Fresh frangrance range and bought these when on offer at 4 for £5, The body wash does last a long time and you only need to use a little at a tme.
The wash is fairly creamy but comes out of the bottle quite easily. It is white in colour but has a feminine aroma which is sort of 'pink' and flowery. It does not lather but goes on nicely and you get a great smell.
However the smell does not last long and the moisturising properties do not really have much of a noticable effect either. I would say it is not drying, but not exactly especially mositurising either (if compared to the Woodland Fresh bath oil which does leave a good film of oil on the skin).
This is a pleasant enough smell but is not one I would rave about - though I know some who do. I much prefer the old original Woodland Fresh, now renamed Soft and Fresh.
The original had been going for many years and was very popular, but like everything it had to be 'improved'.
---Would I Recommend?---
Yes. Pleasant enough and it is nice to have a good smell when showering or bathing.
I used to be an Avon lady years ago when I was a teenager to make some extra money and I still really like their products today. I think the beauty of some of Avon's products is that they have been around for years and really stood the test of time and become a much loved product. That can definitely be said of their Skin So soft range which was first launched by Avon in 1961 and has gone on to be one of their most recognised brands. I know this was a favourite with my customers years ago and its still one of my favourites now.
The Skin So Soft range is described by Avon as an indulgent collection of sensual softeners for the silkiest skin ever. There are lots of different varieties of Skin so soft products but one of my favourites is their creamy body wash. This is such a nice neutral body wash as I like to call it as it doesn't really have too much of a smell to me. It is not perfumed or coloured or anything so if you want a nice body wash to literally just smooth and moisturise your skin then this is it.
The body wash comes in a nice pink bottle with the familiar Skin SO Soft logo on it so you can tell it is part of the range. I find this body wash quite thick and creamy and you can see a bit of texture and shine to it when you pour it out onto the bath puff. It lathers up well and works well over my body. I like to use this when I know I am going to use a perfumed body lotion afterwards so I don't have a clash of fragrances.
A 250ml bottle costs about £3 from Avon and you can either buy it from your Avon representative via the Avon book or you can now purchase online.
When buying a Shower Gel or Body Wash the most important aspect to me is the smell of it. It has to smell nice and be strong enough for me to actually notice the scent while i'm washing, even better if it leaves its scent on my skin as well. But this Body Wash just didn't do it for me, it only had a very faint smell which i didn't find that nice. What i could smell actually reminded me of an older person as does the packaging of this Body Wash.
It did lather and foam up quite well so i didn't have to use much while washing, but i have to say i didn't feel it left my skin any more moisturised than what it would be with any other Body Wash. The 250ml bottle was £3 from Avon which i think is expensive considering it had little results and benefits for me. It's unlikely that i'll buy this one again. I think Avon used to give some of its proceeds from the Skin So Soft range to the Breast Cancer Awareness charity, but i'm not sure if they do this anymore either.
I love Avon and I love the skin so soft range. I hadn't used it for a while, and recently got back into using it after someone bought me some Skin So Soft products.
This body wash is really creamy and when you use it, you do feel like your skin is being moisturised well. It lathers up nicely in the shower, but also runs away easily which is good as some creamy body washes tend to be a bit difficult to rinse off after use.
It smells lovely, but not too strong. I think it smells like baby powder, but that could just be me! You can team the wash with other products in the skin so soft range to "layer" the scent - I particularly like the dry oil body spray.
The packaging is very simple and is a white bottle with pink trimming. The lid is at the bottom of the bottle which is designed for getting the last of the body wash out easily.
I think overall this product is a bit of a beauty bargain - it's cheap and cheerful on the one hand, yet a brand you can rely on quality-wise.
In my experience as an avon sales representative the skin so soft range has always been popular. However over the last year or so the designs of the bottles have changed to look sleeker and more modern. It is no longer pink but a cream colour much like the avon naturals collection shampoos and conditioners which originally made them hard to tell apart especially when I am sorting out my orders. The obvious clue or indication of the contents of each bottle is now the colour of the front of the bottles but admittedly now the bottles are easier to hold in the shower or the bath and the signature pink colour is still an obvious giveaway for finding the soft and sensual among the mass of products I get delivered every few Thursdays.
I would like to point out the great value for almost all the soft and sensual items from avon also as quite regularly they are half price including this creamy body wash at £1.50 each or sometimes the offer of five items for £5 appears which can save up to or more than £9 and considering the amount of moisturising washes you could receive from that offer you may not need to purchase any other body wash products for the rest of the year.
The texture and consistency of the product itself is very much like a thick body lotion or moisturiser which have a distinctive but pleasant scent to it, this scent as reported to me by many customers travelling to mountain and lake districts has the quality of keeping away midges and other small biting bugs that reside in these areas. This is a definite bonus as some people pay a fortune to buy child friendly products that have this feature, some customers have also used this to wash their children's hair with this product also and it has been very gentle on their skin.
Personally I usually break out in patches of dry skin when I use regular store bought brands of shower gel and for a while thought that expensive l'occitane products were the only solution for this problem but since I have started using this shower gel and other skin so soft products I have never had to rely on l'occitane again for smooth moisturised skin and I have saved so much money on top of things too, so really I can't complain about this product or its range especially for the price you are paying.
I bought this a couple of months ago as I was looking for a body wash which would not dehydrate my skin and would leave it soft and smooth. I was drawn to this one in the avon catalogue as the title made me believe this was what I was looking for. The packaging has changed from the one in the dooyoo picture, it is now in a white bottle with the cap at the bottom with a pink rectangle on the front. There is also another one in the range which has a purple rectangle. However being a fan of pink I opted for the pink one! I paid £1.50 for this but full price is closer to £3. I have seen it for as little as 99p and it is worth noting that it is currently on offer for just £1.50 either from your avon rep or online.
The bottle contains 250ml of the body wash and the bottle is shaped so it is easy to hold with wet hands. I really like this design as I have never dropped it in the shower or bath. Opening the bottle is easy, you just flip the cap at the bottom, this again is easy to do with wet hands. In order to get any of the body wash out you need to give the bottle a little squeeze, I have found this useful as it means you only get what you need rather than wasting a lot of the product on the floor of the shower!
The product itself is thick and creamy, it is a strong white in colour and has a nice subtle smell to it. When washing with it I was initially surprised to see how well it lathered up, you only need a very small bit of the product to produce a good lather and wash your whole body. It leaves a nice smell in the bathroom too and when I get dried my skin feels soft and smooth. I have quite sensitive skin and I am pleased to say it also feels quite calm after using this.
I use this alongside other body washes so I cannot give you a time limit on how long it lasts. However, I would say I have used it about 10 times and have only used about a third of the bottle. Therefore I imagine that a bottle would last someone around a month. This is good value for £1.50 and I would recommend it to someone looking for a body wash that will nourish the skin but wont break the bank.
My mam bought me a bottle of Avon's skin so soft and sensual creamy body wash because she knows I love the smell of all of the products in the soft and sensual range. This particular product is one I had used before but it was many years ago and other than liking the smell I couldn't really remember a whole lot about it.
The bottle this body wash is packaged in has changed slightly from the one pictured above. It now comes in a white bottle with a pink logo and opens at the bottom which is good as it means you can get every last drop out. The packaging is nothing special but this is a fairly cheap brand, so I wouldn't expect anything spectacular anyway.
Personally I think this smells absolutely gorgeous. I know not everyone is in agreement though, as my mam, who was the one that actually bought me this, can't stand the smell herself! It's called 'soft and sensual' and I would say soft is pretty accurate, but I'm not 100% sure about it being sensual. The smell is very delicate and quite floral, although it's hard to say what exactly it smells like. It's really soft and feminine and if you like sweet, girly scents, I think you would probably like it.
The body wash itself is a white cream. It's fairly thick, and although when massaged into wet skin it does provide a lather, it's a rather thin and disappointing lather. I find, however, if you use a body puff then you will get a thicker, richer lather and you don't need to use as much product per use either.
One of the best things for me about this product is the way it leaves the skin feeling after use. It's called skin so soft and it really does live up to it's name. I find that my skin feels baby soft after use, even on areas such as my elbows which can tend to be dry and rough.
Another big plus point is that the scent lingers for hours after use, which was slightly surprising seeing as prior to using this I was using some pretty expensive brands, and I could barely smell them on my skin after using the products.
A 250ml bottle of this costs £3.00 from Avon, however there are often special offers on these products, so you may be able to find it cheaper. In fact on the Avon website they currently have an offer to get 5 Skin So Soft products for £5 which is pretty good value.
Overall I am very pleased with this product and will be happy to use it again. It's reasonably priced, left my skin soft and smelled lovely, the only downside is that it doesn't lather too well on it's own which is why it loses a star.
This body wash gives Dove and Nivea a run for their money. A body wash, enriched with moisturisers and other goodies that makes bathtime a luxurious experience.
Soft & Sensual is a very feminine, evocative, sensuous fragrance. The texture of it is thick and creamy and you only need a small drop on a bath puff to wash your whole body. One bottle will last months; it proves good value for money.
I have had less need to use body lotion when using this body wash and my skin has been less dry and scaly with regular use. I would recommend it for shaving your legs and under arms too as the lather is thick and velvety. I am looking forward to trying the Soft & Fresh variety next.
The only down side to the product is its packaging, it could be improved by adding a handle so that using it in the shower could be more convenient.
Avon skin so soft is a fantastic range and definatley leaves your skin much softer and smoother.I sometimes get quite dry skin but after using this product my skin was much softer after just one use.
When using this product I did think it was abit to thick and creamy, it did take quite alot of rubbing in to make it foam up. It didnt feel as if I was completely cleaning myself when using it, it was like I was applying body lotion which was dissapointing.
I soon changed my mind on this product once out of the shower as I felt my skin. There were no dry patches on my skin at all. It did leave my skin very soft. Since using this product I ahve tried other products from the range and love them. Especially the body lotion which I use after the body wash. I would definatley recommend this product.
I use this brand all the time, I love the smell of the body wash and when i use it, and you may not believe me here, but my skin already felt as soft as a baby's bottom.
It wasn't at all that expensive and i bought it with the whole skin so soft range which came with a body mist type thing, which i use all the time aswell.
I thoroughly recommend this product for everyone who is self aware of their dry skin.
Its not just a moisturiser in my opinion.
I bought this as part of a deal where you got this and a couple of other skin so soft products, very much a bargain buy.
I found it quite weird texture wise, it was creamy however when i applied it to wet skin, it was hard to blend into my skin but it did it just took longer than i had expected.
I think that the Skin So Soft range from Avon is one of the best sellers. I remember my mum ordering this years ago when my friends mum was an Avon lady, and my mum still loves the range. The Soft and Sensual scent seems to have been out since the range started, I think.
there is a good few items in the range, but I am reviewing the Creamy Body Wash. It's just a Shower Gel, but this name I think makes it sound soft, and luxurious.
The bottle is 250ml and it is a light pink colour. The bottle is tough plastic and the opening for the bottle is on the bottom, so it is standing upright all the time. I think when a product is running out, most of us will tip it upside down to get the dregs out, but this is standing this way from the start. The lid part is a darker pink compared to the light pink of the bottle. The writing on the bottle is quite light pink as well, with some of it in black and it has the Skin So Soft logo, which is 2 S's and they are in a pink box as well.
You only need a small amount of this to give a good lather. the cream is quite thick, and it goes far when used on a shower puff.
Now to the smell, does it smell any good? It is a nice smell, but pretty sweet smelling. It seems to be heavily perfumed and it scents your skin well. After you come out of the shower the smell seems to linger lightly on your skin, but just a gentle scent. I feel that this moisturises your body as well, and if you team this up with the matching Body Lotion then your skin will be scented even more.
This normally costs £3, but is on ffer pretty much every other Avon book. I got it for £1.50, and I think it is a worthwhile buy, even when it is full price.
A good product, that has a great smell, and which moisturises well.
I got this body wash in an offer Avon were doing where you get the body wash, 2 types of oil and a body lotion for £5. As a girl who loves a bargain, I had to have it. I'm not usually one for purchasing body lotions etc from Avon (I usually stick to the make up and perfume.) but I thought I'd take advantage of the huge saving they were offering.
So the scent of this is the usual skin so soft fragrance, which I absolutely adore. The smell lasts for a really long time, especially if teamed with other items from the skin so soft range. It's really fresh and girly and makes your skin extra soft.
It lathers up really well. I usually put a lot of it onto my scrunchie, because usually you need to load it up in order to wash your whole body. But with this, you only need a small amount as it's that good.
At a full price of £3, I've already ordered another back up whilst it was on offer for £1.50. I really do not want to use another shower gel/body wash as I adore this one.
I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a body wash thats going to last a long time (in both quantity and scent), and that's not going cost a lot. It's a gem.
I ordered this Skin So Soft Creamy Body Wash by accident originally, getting the order numbers mixed up while trying to order a Dry Oil Spray. Luckily I found it to be an excellent body wash and ordered the Dry Oil Spray in the next campaign book so no harm was done in the end.
The Body Wash is very creamy which I was surprised about as Avon are more known for their fun shower gels than any serious attempt at a more luxurious body cleanser. It's a rich cream which lathers beautifully when used either on a sponge or body puff, it doesn't produce bubble as such but leaves a fine layer of foam across my body which feels soft and like a more luxurious wash than the price or name of this product would suggest.
It's got a creamy, silky scent which is very mildly perfumed and smells a little like Johnson's Baby Lotion to me. I found the body wash to be moisturising while I was using it, the creamy consistency makes it a dream to wash with and the thickness of it makes it a fairly nourishing wash too. I like the fact that the scent lingers on my skin and leaves a clean, fresh aroma for a good while after my shower or bath.
The Creamy Body Wash is better used in the shower I think because it's easier to cover your whole body and experience the moisturising effect all over. It's a very effective cleanser too and my skin always feel very clean after a shower or bath using this body wash and if any area of my body is visibly dirty if I've been busy in the garden or something the area scrubs up well after washing with this.
After my shower I find I only need to use a light body lotion afterwards, which considering my skin is extremely dry and always needs a thick oily body cream speaks volumes about the quality and reliability of the body wash. I don't itch or feel sore after using it either which is good as I tend to have to be a little careful with some Avon body products.
A 250ml bottle usually costs £3 but is currently on offer at £2, of which Avon will donate 50p to the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity. I think this is an excellent thing for Avon to do and for this reason I don't mind buying the Creamy Body Wash even at full price, and considering a bottle lasts for quite a while as you only need a small amount to wash with it's still a very good price for such a lovely body wash.
